Classic. Zappa just flies off into space after a while. This brings me back. We played this at college parties in 1985-86. Those kids loved Zappa, Allman Brothers & Lou Reed covers. we were Not nearly at this level but it sure was fun. I can't even play as well as Brooks Wackerman, Chad's little brother. I miss Frank.
Sometimes I feel like "WE THE PEOPLE" have been tied to the whipping post....lay it down Frank take us home.....Mr. Zappa was truly an American Hero of music!!!!!
@ Psych0delicShrooms:TRY!! Search every garage sale, second hand store (best in college towns) I have almost all of them fromt the beginning to Joe's Garage. The older ones were a bit messed up ~ reminder: don't let drunks handle your best stuff...but if you want 'em bad enough, patient & thorough searching will lead you to the Holy Grail.
Love FZ, but this song, in my opinion, done best right here in this video on the "Live at the Filmore East" album 1970. Greg still singing strong with Duane, without that fist for performance effect, but as much as I LOVE Frank Zappa and have, this song, this version, belongs to the ALLMAN BROS BAND, in my opinion and always will. ♥♫
OK can someone please fill me in, I know this is a cover all The Allmans Brothers Bands whipping post, but the guy who sings, who is he? just a member of the band? Beause he has an awesome voice. Also towards the end, when he keeps repeating 'I really do believe believe' What does he actually say at the end? To me it sounded like:-
Would like to see Allman and Zappa on stage jamming together.

Mr. Z was a superb guitarist. Regrettably, he's never listed as a superior musician on his axe in any innocuous poll that I've read.
Can't fix stupid.

ABB is one of my favorite bands and this cover is great.
My only problem with Frank Zappa is that he has made so much music that I don't even know if I'm ever going to hear all of his songs...

@Psych0delicShrooms i think that it's so much better that way, it's like a never ending trip inside his creation. FZ rules !
