well i actually like this anime very much one because is not the tipical anime in what the two protagonists end up together. The other thing is that mitsuki isn't a bad friend she was in love with him since the beginning but when she knows about haruka feelings she decides to step back, and with all the accident thing takatsuki was just pathetic and she decides to cheer him up and one thing left to another and thats all i don't see anything bad in that...
takayuki is a slut if you look up rumbling hearts on wikipedia it says he slept with 12 girls and one of the girls he slept wit was only because she was finna die thats bad and takayuki is going to end up with a disese from having sex to much. why did he have to do the *bestie* thats sum real dirty shit but i really love the anime but ot his character

When Haruka was hit, they had no way of knowing just how long she'd be in a coma, or if she'd even wake up. Everyone acts as if the next day Takayuki & Mitsuki got together.
The point is, Takayuki & Mitsuki loved each other since before the accident, and got together when they got the chance.
Didn't care for this one much. Very little character development.
Ironically that a large majority of females would do the exact same thing if they were in the same circumstance. From the evidence given both females are some what to blame.I think both endings are horrible since they both have a horrible past. The thing with the OVA it look liked a alternative universe with somewhat similar events took place that ended that way. Either way the main male character did get some?lol

Yup. Many people dislike Mitsuki because they think Taka is rightfully Haruka's. It's not Mitsuki's fault for falling in love with him. Anyway, from the start, taka did liked Mitsuki, he didn't want to hurt Haruka that's why he accepted her. It's obvious. And an accident happened, Haruka got into a coma. Mitsuki was by Taka's side all along, until she couldn't stand the sight of him torturing himself.

To me, it's both Takayuki and Mitsuki's fault. If Mitsuki hadn't distracted Takayuki, he would've gone to get Haruka. If he wasn't so easily sidetracked, he would've gone to get Haruka. I put it more on Mitsuki because she ended up betraying her best friend.

Alright, I saw this about 4 weeks ago, and I debated with many people already on the comment board on the video itself (on veoh) If someone is depressed seriously (like Taka) for a month, its tragic. They have to get help and support from loved ones, physicians, and medication. ONE ENTIRE YEAR LATER, he is still in severe need.
There is nobody he had to turn to, and whatever medication he was taking or w/e obviously wasn't working. Some people say shame on Mitsuki for sleeping with Taka. I say shame on her for neglecting him for a years. Now I'm not advocating that Mitsuki should have come over and slept with Taka a month after. I'm saying she should have been there since the accident. Now sex isn't the final answer. But it's obviously helpful in many ways.
I'm not really a mitsuki fan, but ummmmm she was there since the accident from what I remember. She was in love with Taka so she was really the only one who was there even if it was for her own personal gain kind of.
I also don't understand why people feel for Haruka so much. So she was in an accident, i agree that is tragic. But all she and Taka had was a night together in high school. That is all they had, and that naïve and juvenile promise, made right after their first time, obviously while they were high on life, if you will. If it wasn't for that promise, this would never have gotten so complicated.
One night and an adolescent promise vs. two years of extreme sacrifice, for someone in desperate need. The choice was always clear. I'm just happy Haruka was able to accept it, too. That was a mouthful and a half. Must split in 4 or so o.O.

Takayuki was friends with Mitsuki, he was curious to see if she liked him but overall he didn't return the same feelings. As stated before, the ending of the anime ended that way to avoid being controversial. He never really loved Mitsuki, he used her as an escape. He should have left the both of them and moved on, it would have been the best way to end the series, in retrospect.

Her intentions weren't harmful, just selfish. Even in the scene she says "I couldn't take it anymore, I've loved you soandso." It's not "I'm so worried about you I want to make everything okay", it's her lust getting the best of her. She even states that she betrayed her friend, gets jealous, and cheats on Takayuki. Her intentions are selfish, obviously. The series is about raw emotions and human flaws.

Mitsuki lies to Haruka about doing it just to comfort Takayuki, and she states that "it could have been anyone really", and Haruka slaps her because she knows Mitsuki is lying. This is because Mitsuki had selfish intentions and did it for herself. She didn't have intentions of "snapping him out of it", she just couldn't take it anymore and stripped her clothes off.
Also - (wow I'm posting a lot, sorry. :3 ) Do you think throwing books in his face and hitting him is comforting him? She was having a mental break down just as well, because in reality, the character was coming to terms with herself and her guilt.
He never moved on. He used the relationship with Mitsuki as an escape. If he had moved on, his breakdown wouldn't have happened later on in the series. Mitsuki was driving him insane; which was the reason he felt so emotionally connected to Haruka; she brought him "peace" so to speak and reminded him of better memories. His relationship with Mitsuki was a mess. I'm looking at this all realistically, of course.
Well, who cares about it? It's the ending that matters? He still realised he LOVED mitsuki. =] and furthermore, i think the only mistake that Mitsuki made was to put both of them together; Taka liked her at first you see. (;
Are you not reading anything I'm typing? You can throw around fake character emotions and pretend the anime ended the way you wanted, but all in all, he didn't love Mitsuki. He went with her because the creators couldn't end it any other way. Their relationship was unhealthy and damaging to one another, and he didn't love her to begin with, he just went back to her because he felt that was the best thing to do. The anime focuses on character flaws, that's why it ended the way it did.

I'm just explaining the aspects of the storyline and characters. It's a fairly intellectual anime and I'm speaking about it all as if it happened in real life. Anyone with some common sense can figure out what would have happened if the situation was realistic. I like Mitsuki in a way because she portrays an actual person - I just didn't think the ending was the best one, and I didn't think the relationship was good to begin with in the series.

Takayuki obviously never "moved on", he was escaping his regret and grief by having sex with Mitsuki. All their relationship was was sex, if you could tell. They weren't even really a "couple", they didn't and couldn't even communicate with eachother throughout the whole series. In real life circumstances, what Mitsuki did would screw someone up even more, and just remind him of painful memories. The best way would be to move on to a healthy adult relationship, not escape in one.
Mitsuki is such a BITCH! If you loved him in the first place, then you shoulda told Haruka that you like him in the first place. . .

I admired Mitsuki and wanted her to be the one that confessed to Takayuki, Im sure their life would of turned out better with each other than it did because of Haruka.

Yup. Many people dislike Mitsuki because they think Taka is rightfully Haruka's. It's not Mitsuki's fault for falling in love with him. Anyway, from the start, taka did liked Mitsuki, he didn't want to hurt Haruka that's why he accepted her. It's obvious. And an accident happened, Haruka got into a coma. Mitsuki was by Taka's side all along, until she couldn't stand the sight of him torturing himself.

i think its really wrong that mituki goes after takauyuki after Haruka was in that acident and if it weren't for Mituki Haruka probably would not have been in the accident anyways cause Takayuki would have made it in time!

Great anime. I can't describe it, but I see what it was getting at.
To me, it's both Takayuki and Mitsuki's fault. If Mitsuki hadn't distracted Takayuki, he would've gone to get Haruka. If he wasn't so easily sidetracked, he would've gone to get Haruka. I put it more on Mitsuki because she ended up betraying her best friend.
Then again, that's life for ya. It happens.

4 all of u peppl wit trouble pronouncing and spelling the names here r some of the main characters names. takayuki(pronounced ta-ka-yu-ki), haruka(pronounced ha-ru-ka note:"ru" isnt pronounced the same in english, in japanese its sounds sorta like sayin roo wit a spanish accent),mitsuki(pronounced mit-su-ki not mit-ski thats the stupid american way),shinji(pronounced shin-G),and akane(pronounced a-ka-ne note: "ne" is pronounced saying the "e" like eh) i hope that cleared some peppls confusions.

Alright, I saw this about 4 weeks ago, and I debated with many people already on the comment board on the video itself (on veoh) If someone is depressed seriously (like Taka) for a month, its tragic. They have to get help and support from loved ones, physicians, and medication. ONE ENTIRE YEAR LATER, he is still in severe need.

There is nobody he had to turn to, and whatever medication he was taking or w/e obviously wasn't working. Some people say shame on Mitsuki for sleeping with Taka. I say shame on her for neglecting him for a years. Now I'm not advocating that Mitsuki should have come over and slept with Taka a month after. I'm saying she should have been there since the accident. Now sex isn't the final answer. But it's obviously helpful in many ways.

I also don't understand why people feel for Haruka so much. So she was in an accident, i agree that is tragic. But all she and Taka had was a night together in high school. That is all they had, and that naïve and juvenile promise, made right after their first time, obviously while they were high on life, if you will. If it wasn't for that promise, this would never have gotten so complicated.

Uh, of course it was screwed up, they didn't even get together in a healthy way - he was depressed, and for three years he used her as an escape, that's why it was screwed up. Takayuki "loved" Mitsuki first? You seem to be throwing around quite a few strong words, IMO. Takayuki was friends with Mitsuki, he was curious to see if she liked him but overall he didn't return the same feelings. As stated before, the ending of the anime ended that way to avoid being controversial. He never really loved Mitsuki, he used her as an escape. He should have left the both of them and moved on, it would have been the best way to end the series, in retrospect.

Psychological help also doesn't always mean mental - He could have been on some anti-depressants or started seeing a therapist. There are a lot of possibilities, how do you think depressed people cope sometimes? Not everyone has a girl stripping her clothes off and tackling them - People deal with it in different ways. She should have contacted someone.

Anyway, no, sex doesn't bother me. Just the way it was portrayed in the series is damaging. I mean, having sex doesn't cure emotional problems, it's just something that pushes them aside. Her intentions weren't harmful, just selfish. Even in the scene she says "I couldn't take it anymore, I've loved you soandso." It's not "I'm so worried about you I want to make everything okay", it's her lust getting the best of her. She even states that she betrayed her friend, gets jealous, and cheats on Takayuki. Her intentions are selfish, obviously. The series is about raw emotions and human flaws.

Mitsuki lies to Haruka about doing it just to comfort Takayuki, and she states that "it could have been anyone really", and Haruka slaps her because she knows Mitsuki is lying. This is because Mitsuki had selfish intentions and did it for herself. She didn't have intentions of "snapping him out of it", she just couldn't take it anymore and stripped her clothes off.

He never moved on. He used the relationship with Mitsuki as an escape. If he had moved on, his breakdown wouldn't have happened later on in the series. Mitsuki was driving him insane; which was the reason he felt so emotionally connected to Haruka; she brought him "peace" so to speak and reminded him of better memories. His relationship with Mitsuki was a mess. I'm looking at this all realistically, of course.

Are you not reading anything I'm typing? You can throw around fake character emotions and pretend the anime ended the way you wanted, but all in all, he didn't love Mitsuki. He went with her because the creators couldn't end it any other way. Their relationship was unhealthy and damaging to one another, and he didn't love her to begin with, he just went back to her because he felt that was the best thing to do. The anime focuses on character flaws, that's why it ended the way it did.

I'm just explaining the aspects of the storyline and characters. It's a fairly intellectual anime and I'm speaking about it all as if it happened in real life. Anyone with some common sense can figure out what would have happened if the situation was realistic. I like Mitsuki in a way because she portrays an actual person - I just didn't think the ending was the best one, and I didn't think the relationship was good to begin with in the series.

jacachu u r indeed very naive to think that hospitals place a high priority on emotional cases. usually such cases would be transferred to mental institutions...

jacachu.. do u relli expect mitsuki to call the hospital and tell them that her friend was depressed and that they should come over and "examine" him? wtf r u toking about? depression is a serious problem, however it is not so serious that takayuki has to be admitted in a hospital!

Uh, yeah, his depression was serious enough as to where he wasn't eating, wasn't sleeping, wasn't doing anything and couldn't do anything. I'd say that's pretty serious. Serious enough as to where he needed psychological help. And I was talking about a mental hospital.

and so you expected Mitsuki to bring him to the mental hospital? i don't think it will help anyway, since you said it was serious, i don't think anyone could help him!

oh my! how naive can u get. This is not some fairy tale where the prince waits for his sleeping beauty to awake after so many years ok! like any other guy would do takayuki moved on. i mean there is a possibility that haruka may never wake up!

Takayuki obviously never "moved on", he was escaping his regret and grief by having sex with Mitsuki. All their relationship was was sex, if you could tell. They weren't even really a "couple", they didn't and couldn't even communicate with eachother throughout the whole series. In real life circumstances, what Mitsuki did would screw someone up even more, and just remind him of painful memories. The best way would be to move on to a healthy adult relationship, not escape in one.
