@eruilluvatar1 Thanks for the lyrics. Small correction please. According to my understanding it's SADARANG KARO JAADU RE and not 'Sadarang ghar kaajo re'. The song was rendered wonderfully by Sarasvati Rane (Abdul Karim Khan's Daughter) in Bhumika (Shyam Benegal film 1997, film was based on Hansa Wadkar's life). Mondar is Drum or Pakhwaj. Lyric used in the movie was a little different 'BAAJO RE MONDAR BAAJO, MOHMMAD SHAH TUM DARAS SAJANWAA, SADARANG KARO JAADU RE'
@jasiddiqi yes, "Bajo re mondar bajo re" is a famous bandish by Sadarang (Niyamat Khan) who was in the court of Muhammad Shah "Rangeeley". I am informed that mondar is another name for pakhawaj.

lyrics -
mondar baajo re.. aur ghanera;
mohammed shah piya man ko darasawa;
sadaranga ghar kaajo re.
In this portion he sings only this much.. further lines of the same bandish are -
rasa bhini bhini
teno nayanka sang jaage;
bhaar jhuko aur haar tuto;
jaake joban luto;
kahat sadaranga.

This is sublime -- truly wonderful. Does anyone have the full lyrics? I think it is by "sadarang"? as it refers to Mohammed Shah (Rangeelay?)

@Flamennova Thanks very much for that. I really didn't know that "mondar" meant pakhavaj. It makes good sense now.
