beautiful, subtle and sober piano playing in my favourite Rach prelude, conveys the depth and darkness of soul I believe the composer was experiencing in exile: looking back and longing for a home that no longer exists
thank you!
beautiful and clear piano sound also - I'm curious: how was the recording made? what kind of piano?
Ah! Love the sound of some of those old German pianos, Blüthner, Bechstein, Bösendorfer. What glorious sustain and clearness. The combination of great piano sound and pianist and a beautiful German castle must have been a magical moment. Wish I'd been there :) Thank you again for this, and for an amazing channel filled with great music - you bring true beauty to world through youtube - how wonderful in our times that creates so much shallow soullessness
J'adore ce prélude et tu le joue merveilleusement bien! La peinture que tu as choisis représente bien l'image que je me suis toujours fait de cette pièce. Une fine pluie, un gros nuage noir, puis une ondée soudaine, et le calme qui revient doucement.
I have to remark that your playing is of the highest order: the way you build up the climax and the remarkable ritardando you played before the mini-cadenza moves me like few other performers of this piece have. You really got it!
Good afternoon Mark,
Your repertoire choice, your playing and the sound quality are sincerely delightful.
I deeply enjoyed. Nice work. Thanks for sharing.
Cyrille.

@canzonaserenata Thank you! It was an old Blüthner piano in a beautiful castle in Germany. For the recording i hired a professional sound engineer.
