this song has to represent a total change in the way we looked at our world. This song is space age ,the world wide web was just introduced to the public about that time, dont forget the space shuttle program was going into action and filled us with hopes and dreams we all could never think of before. What a time and it was a thrill to be a teen at that time.
AFOS was the only band that merged rock into wave. Did anyone know that Mark the bassist was the one who found Paul R. If it wasnt for Mark AFOS wouldn't of been here. I want to know what Mark knew about Paul that nobody else knew. That faithful night Rock-wave was born. The evolutionary pinnacle of New-Wave. Nobody else was capable of pushing the envelope. Not even The Cure, Love and Rockets, U2, and the countless other clones that AFOS produced. God bless Paul, Mark, Mike and Ali
I still remember dancing to this with my new bride at our wedding 25 years ago.
It was a pretty humble affair, staged at the local Legion Hall, but we had programmed the music with the DJ ahead of time and had probably the best party of our lives dancing all night to the best New Wave the early 80's had to offer!
I love this song to this day! It does sound like you are hurtling through space making out frantically twisting around and in complete free fall, you have to close your eyes and sway when you listen, It'll transport you.
They are absolutelly great band...much better than all of them from the 80's...I remember them playing full set in this dive in Langley, Nowhere, british columbia. They staged the entire show that sounded just like recorded music. Great band, humble and professional...just the greatest people
@lennomenno Yes, this band was highly underrated although everyone is ripping them off. They didn't sell out like most of them...I saw them several times in small venues for the last couple of years and they sound exactly like this LIVE...amazing, amazing people
@transfoby I totally agree their sound is amazing, I think some people didn't take them seriously because of the costumes, but their music should have been respected , they were unique in their sound and original, fantastic
@luvcookies1 They actually played a month ago in Langley, BC - it's beyond me why there?? I missed the show because the local paper didn't even announce it...they called them 'an obscure band, one hit wonder from the 80s)....I wanted to kick myself for missing it.
When I saw them 14 years ago in Langley, there was only me dancing in the club with only a handfull of people attending. And great Flock of Seagulls played 'If I had a Photograph of You just fo ME! Imagine...
Still luv this song, miss the 80's.That hair dew was catchy back then in a good way.I'm sure that some people had tried that style...hehe i'm one of them =) FOS 4EVA
A Flock of Seagulls - the second best band to ever come out of Liverpool, England, the first being, of course, DEAD OR ALIVE!!!!! I bet you thought i was going to say the dreaded B word, LOL.
I like this version of this video rather than a lot of the other versions out there that are higher quality. This video is more poetic in that it is lower quality, the video was made in a time where such technology as we have today were but dreams, not thought to be accomplished. Now we have many of these technologies that people twenty, twenty-five, thirty years ago didn't think were possible, but we take them for granted, forgetting that people used to dream of the things that we have today...
vbintenn I agree 100% I dearly miss the 80's sad to say it will never comeback in the sense that we have grown older and the music now days s_ _ k , So the only thing we can do is to keep it alive by listening to it and buy 80's cds thank goodness that cd's dont wear out cause i listen to afos almost everyday and have since the 80's
Yes, the version by Eleven Shadow was VERY creepy and had a errie quality, but it also a very interesting and different interpritation of an otherwise cheerfull and uplifting song.
Paul is so humble, very gracious man, I'd totally brag! Space Age Love Song is so cool, is this an example of guitar wash? hmmm? 1:10-2:00? -xoxo-Meda

@luvcookies1 He is such a great person in real life. I remember
this concert a couple of years ago, I hardly recognized them until
they started playing. They were the intro band for Platinum Blonde,
fucking Platinum Blonde. They were lugging their own equipment
of the stage, no roadies, and I told him they were the greatest band ever.
He shook my hand in appreciation and simply said 'Thank you"! Have to
love people like that...
