  • this song has to represent a total change in the way we looked at our world. This song is space age ,the world wide web was just introduced to the public about that time, dont forget the space shuttle program was going into action and filled us with hopes and dreams we all could never think of before. What a time and it was a thrill to be a teen at that time.

  • I just wanna meat that kid in the white glasses in the lobby. The SCORE Bros are too freaky for me.

  • Compare this with Bruno Mars Just the Way You Are and tell me he hasn't plagiarised bits of this great track!

  • THIS is my favorite flock of seagulls song!!!

  • Top 10 songs of all time!

  • I never thought that Paul Reynolds will sound like that!

  • @alkhars11 Yeah he has a very thick British accent.

  • I am too pleased with this title!!! I LOVE LOVE LOVE LOVE LOVE THIS SONG!!!

  • OMG! Paul Reynolds has such a sexy voice.......heavy sigh!!!!!!!!

  • This guy has the best rockandroll haircut of all time.

  • The Genius Of The Delay Guitar!

  • i wrote this as a poem once and she luved it

  • AFOS was the only band that merged rock into wave. Did anyone know that Mark the bassist was the one who found Paul R. If it wasnt for Mark AFOS wouldn't of been here. I want to know what Mark knew about Paul that nobody else knew. That faithful night Rock-wave was born. The evolutionary pinnacle of New-Wave. Nobody else was capable of pushing the envelope. Not even The Cure, Love and Rockets, U2, and the countless other clones that AFOS produced. God bless Paul, Mark, Mike and Ali

  • @vwboy2012 is the bassist mark or frank?

  • Paul Reynolds is the guitar god!!!!

  • is that paul reynolds at the beginning??!

  • Great song they really had a lot of great tunes. Should be in the rock n roll hall of fame.

  • i can't stop repeating it WOOOWWW

  • one of the best songs i've ever heard in my life

  • I still remember dancing to this with my new bride at our wedding 25 years ago.

It was a pretty humble affair, staged at the local Legion Hall, but we had programmed the music with the DJ ahead of time and had probably the best party of our lives dancing all night to the best New Wave the early 80's had to offer!

We still think of this one as "Our Song!" lol!

    Thanks for posting! :)

  • Hubs gave me this single on our third date. You tube = brilliant.

  • I love this song to this day! It does sound like you are hurtling through space making out frantically twisting around and in complete free fall, you have to close your eyes and sway when you listen, It'll transport you.

  • They are absolutelly great band...much better than all of them from the 80's...I remember them playing full set in this dive in Langley, Nowhere, british columbia. They staged the entire show that sounded just like recorded music. Great band, humble and professional...just the greatest people

  • Takes me back to a great time in my life thanks 4 posting .........a classic band and song

  • What a great underrated song from back in the day...

  • @lennomenno Yes, this band was highly underrated although everyone is ripping them off. They didn't sell out like most of them...I saw them several times in small venues for the last couple of years and they sound exactly like this LIVE...amazing, amazing people

  • @transfoby I totally agree their sound is amazing, I think some people didn't take them seriously because of the costumes, but their music should have been respected , they were unique in their sound and original, fantastic

  • paul is a great guy...looks like he is sixteen years old but when he talks he sounds like a lumber jack...wonder what he's doing living now?

  • @bozo47p Do a search for - Bands Reunited Flock - and you'll learn about the recent whereabouts of all 4 members.

  • @bozo47p They are still together performing. I saw them the other day, of all places,

this dive in Langley BC putting the greatest show ever. They sound exactly the same.

  • its cute how Paul says he came up with the title name with a smile :D

  • @luvcookies1 He is such a great person in real life. I remember

this concert a couple of years ago, I hardly recognized them until

they started playing. They were the intro band for Platinum Blonde,

fucking Platinum Blonde. They were lugging their own equipment

of the stage, no roadies, and I told him they were the greatest band ever.

He shook my hand in appreciation and simply said 'Thank you"! Have to

    love people like that...

  • @transfoby awwwww!!!!!!! omg no way!!!! thats soo cool dude!!! man, he IS the greatest guy ull ever meet... :D

  • @luvcookies1 They actually played a month ago in Langley, BC - it's beyond me why there?? I missed the show because the local paper didn't even announce it...they called them 'an obscure band, one hit wonder from the 80s)....I wanted to kick myself for missing it.

When I saw them 14 years ago in Langley, there was only me dancing in the club with only a handfull of people attending. And great Flock of Seagulls played 'If I had a Photograph of You just fo ME! Imagine...

  • Amazing was that they sound as good on the stage as on a studio album...actually even better...they are also the nicest people one could ever meet

  • that's a Gemini space rocket behind the seagulls

  • why is garbage hippy?

  • love the guitar in this song

  • Yes, Edge of U2 ripped off his sound

  • @transfoby I thought U2 was older than AFOS? But Edge does use the same type of guitar, mmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm.

  • mike score's hair is freakin awesome!

  • Still luv this song, miss the 80's.That hair dew was catchy back then in a good way.I'm sure that some people had tried that style...hehe i'm one of them =) FOS 4EVA

  • wunderbar

  • What a song !!!!!

  • Videographer put this to my daughter's first skydiving adventure and it was awesome!

  • A Flock of Seagulls - the second best band to ever come out of Liverpool, England, the first being, of course, DEAD OR ALIVE!!!!! I bet you thought i was going to say the dreaded B word, LOL.

  • yeah not that hippy garbage.

  • God !!!!

I feel old, this video brings back so many memories............. you guys are right, nothing like the 80's decade.

thank you for posting this masterpiece.

  • I like this version of this video rather than a lot of the other versions out there that are higher quality. This video is more poetic in that it is lower quality, the video was made in a time where such technology as we have today were but dreams, not thought to be accomplished. Now we have many of these technologies that people twenty, twenty-five, thirty years ago didn't think were possible, but we take them for granted, forgetting that people used to dream of the things that we have today...

  • vbintenn I agree 100% I dearly miss the 80's sad to say it will never comeback in the sense that we have grown older and the music now days s_ _ k , So the only thing we can do is to keep it alive by listening to it and buy 80's cds thank goodness that cd's dont wear out cause i listen to afos almost everyday and have since the 80's

  • I still love this song. I miss the 80's.

  • I can never get enough of this song.. even now! Always interesting to hear how a song/song title came about... cheers for posting

  • me encanta es de mis tiempos de los 80 arriba mis flock of seaguels los adoro me traen buenos momentos de mi vida gracias amigos saludos desde mexico

  • Brilliant song. A true classic!!

  • Goddamn, I love this song. Thanks for posting and thanks including the bit about the title of the song - didn't know that.

  • @CupcakeExplosion heee heee! Cheers! Me too!- I second that!

  • Indeed I have heard of the cover by Eleven Shadows - I sang on it. I'm surprised anyone else has heard of it!

  • Yes, the version by Eleven Shadow was VERY creepy and had a errie quality, but it also a very interesting and different interpritation of an otherwise cheerfull and uplifting song.

  • he made that band.after he left there songs were shite. check out bands reunited theres some good recent footage of them

  • Paul is so humble, very gracious man, I'd totally brag! Space Age Love Song is so cool, is this an example of guitar wash? hmmm? 1:10-2:00? -xoxo-Meda

  • Awesome Pauls voice is so cool! I never heard his voice!

  • You beat us to it! :) we were going to upload this.

  • Funny, my cousin wanted to put Afos in Ace Brixton on YouTube, then you beat him to it.

  • @Afos1979 Why did you TTLG before the title song, Space age love song?
