  • have you heard of aquaponics you just may love i went from hydroponic to wanting aquaponics, since you get organic nutrient for you plants and fish for your table.

  • @ChrisWarWalker Yes, we researched several systems and methods. However not all methods are suitable for all applications. We found the vertical stacking system to be most effective where space, light and water usage need to be taken into consideration.

  • Although we have no experience with cereal crops, we believe the system could be adapted to grow those in the correct climate. We grow root crops such as turnips, carrots, beets and radishes. However, the vine and tuber growth of potatoes would be difficult to master in this system.

  • Can cereal crops like rice and root crops like potatoes be grown using hydroponic farming techniques?

  • i've seen rice, beets and turnips in a clay pellet ebb and flow tray and i heard of people using coco peat for potatoes.

  • @ChrisWarWalker Thanks for the info; the reason i asked is that this type of agriculture would be great for third world tropical nations especially when most of them can't afford mechanised farming.
