Ok what if your right handed and your driving to the lane to the left and want to pull up. You have to go bring the ball to your right hand in order to shoot it. The only way they can perform what your talking about is if a person takes a jump shot or dive to the goal on the right side. THE END

If you look closely at Ray Allen's form in slow motion, he starts off his shot with the ball close to the center of his chest instead of in a straight line with his shooting hand, so having the ball aligned to your shooting hand may not always be the best advice.

I shoot almost two handed like he's explaining and I can shoot very well. I'm no Ray Allen or Reggie Miller ,but I think it just takes getting comfortable with your shot.

This guy doesn't know what he's talking about. You're arm actually should be around 70-80 degrees, and it should be pushing the ball forward. It doesn't at all make the ball travel flat if you release it at the right time. Watch Ray Allen, Reggie Miller, Jimmer Fredette, Jason Kidd, Dirk Nowitzki. Almost everyone in the pros shoots like this, 70-80 degree angle and pushing the ball forward.

@NerfDartsmith21 You actually start 90 degrees at a younger age because if you push with 70-80 at young age, they'll rely on using their arms for strength and not their legs. 9-17 year olds aren't pro and don't need to shoot like a pro. the shot should be like an elevator, up and out

@8MunchenBayern8 Ray really doesn't have a textbook release and his form is difficult to replicate. He has a really effective and quick release, but it's like a sling shot.  I don't know of any other NBA players who could shoot like him.
