He came into the league, and onto that franchise, during its darkest hour of my lifetime, became the team`s captain, and time and time again has proven himself big in the clutch. His fielding percentage has dropped a bit, but we have to remember he is in the dusk of a stellar career. Im not going to google and pulling up the stats, but he is a perennial all star, 5 time WS champ, and a human highlight reel. Cano is great but-

If u look at the income the yankees provide to the REST of the league through luxury taxes,tv ratings, etc.,we are keeping the game alive. Boston has a 189 mil payrol. E1 pays way too much for ppl to play a GAME. We do love derek, and its just crazy to see him bashed here on a NYY/B.Shep. board.
