I know that Doug Owsley of the Smithsonian and Richard Jantz of the University of Tennessee are the chief propagators of the idea that Kennewick Man is Caucasoid in nature. However, if you look at the findings of Jim Chatters and Joe Powell, the anthropologists who actually studied the Kennewick's remains, they conclude an Ainu/Polynesian origin.

According to research compiled by Dr. David Smith and Fredirika Keastle, mtDNA had been extracted from the remains found at Hourglass Cave, Wizards Beach, and On Your Knees Cave. Keep in mind that these remains are all older than 8,000 yrs, and are said to be different than modern Native Americans, yet they had haplogroups B, C, and D.

It seems that a great number of biologists studying ancient Paleo-American remains have found that the mtDNA of Paleo-Americans and modern-American Indians are not different enough from each other to conclude that they are from seperate founding lineages. They conclude that modern American Indians are most likely the descendents of Paleo-Americans. Really interesting, I must say.

I know that Doug Owsley of the Smithsonian and Richard Jantz of the University of Tennessee are the chief propagators of the idea that Kennewick Man is Caucasoid in nature. However, if you look at the findings of Jim Chatters and Joe Powell, the anthropologists who actually studied the Kennewick's remains, they conclude an Ainu/Polynesian origin.

Debate is about proving your theories with solid evidence (artefactual, DNA, geology, etc.).

It is possible that the salutrian people of western europe now called france, came to N. America about 30,00-45,000 years ago. That would slightly.pre date any asian/siberian migration. The evidence for this migration are the atifacts which appear to be a variation of solutrian arrow points, found only in western europe until they were found in arizona and an even older site in virginia. it would be a mistake to classify 40,000 year old cultures as "white" and "not white" though.

But as you mentioned there are multiple archeological sites with human habitation older than that, but that is the oldest identified as of now.

"Bi-facial" is not always the same thing as clovis or solutrean. Clovis points appear to be evolved solutrean type points, with the "flutes" cut into both sides of the points. I didnt wind up at this site because i have some idealogical axe to grind, (no pun intended) but clearly some do. The atlantic migration hypothesis is very strong but "controversial because it steps on well established academic toes, and also because of ethno-politcal antagonism. that is unfortunate.

As for Haplogroup X, the latest consensus is that it's a marker with origins in Asia and that a branch of origin for both Europeans and Amerindians take the marker from 30,000 years ago. If Solutreans did mix with Asians in N. America, there would be more Haplogroup markers showing up in modern Amerindians such as the Algonquin.

if you had the slightest clue about DNA, then you would not make such a horse's ass of yourself with that statement. DNA actualy shows the Ainu having closer affinities to the populations of the Pacific Isles, such as the Moriori or Chamorro, though today's population is very mixed.
