  • Why do we allow demagogues like Rep. West divide Americans against each other? Wall Street oligarchs and their servants in Congress stand with each other, so too should We the People.

  • Sorry, Mr. West. You, like many Democrats, refuse to work and do the job I pay you to do: GOVERN. You get a cut of my paycheck not to pound podiums or hobnob with donors, but to fulfill your responsibilities as an elected representative of the United States. Not only that, but you appear to be mentally unbalanced, as evidenced by repeated egregious violations of Military Protocol while interrogating an unarmed non-combatant in Iraq.

  • #AllenWest VOTED YES for #NDAA bill! SHAME!!!! You voted YES! PERIOD!

  • Let's hope West is appointed Secretary of State, or CIA chief.

  • NDAA - you're next on the list, history has proven these laws are the first step. power corupts

  • West did not state he is Islam... from one of his talks last year..it is about ''defending'' someone's right to practice his religion...I do not see him state he is Islam or favors the religion.....He said."I will always defend your right to practice a true religion under the First Amendment," West said, adding that he is "not going to stop speaking the truth." He then listed violent incidents in Islamic history ..

  • This man is a history buff and he speakes of history when condeming muslims. He should know NDAA and acts like NDAA are the first steps in all dictatorships. When one group or person is to say what/who is threat with no due process, jury of peers, this great nation will fall. I will NOT stand with this man!

  • He misinterprets "the requirement"... they still have the option of detaining American citizens, however it's not "required" as with illegal immigrants.

  • Newt/West 2012

  • We need the NDAA` Now Allen it would be good to clear up the FEMA camps for all the people so there is not conspiracy hysterical speakers spurring up the kids to go against their own and only first responders~

  • Congressmen West. What about non-military detention for US Citizens?

    Thank you,

  • Ron Paul/Allen West 2012/

  • @HalfBornUnicornFetus If the become PPOTUS & VP, Yes!

  • West For President !!!

  • No Allen, you are either lying or downright naive. I used to be a big fan of this guy, he's proven that once you get to DC, you become part of the good ol boys club.

  • @1776iscoming Nope, it is you who is "naive"..... He just knows the difference between actual reality/truth and the misrepresentation of the truth, that nuts like Alex Jones spew with their propaganda.

  • @leeuniverse

Give me a break and read the bill, the next freakin section is very clear that all it takes is the label terrorist and you can be detained. You trust the government way too much man, if you can't see the power grab by both parties recently, you're blind.

  • @1776iscoming And what does it take to be labeled a terrorist? Terrorist activities. Further, DOD powers are limited accept in national emergency. Otherwise other law enforcement handles things. Did you forget this is a regular yearly DOD funding Bill? You simply don't know what you're talking about. You create conspiracy by out of context quote mining. I don't trust the government at all, especially liberal government. I'm well aware of the rights being lost. But I'm also in reality.

  • NDAA is a slippery slope into tyranny. Ron Paul 2012

  • Col. West with all due respect my copy of the bill obtained on Thomas.gov, does not have any page numbers. The section I am concerned about is SEC1031. In SEC1032, from which you quoted, there are indeed specific references protecting US citizens and they apply only to that section. 1031 gives the President (not the military ) the power to detain any person who planned , authorized or committed a terrorist attack and there is no exception made for US citizens as there is in SEC 1032.

  • Thank you, for posting.

  • Who is this guy? So we're supposed to believe what one random person says about ONE page out of nearly 1,000 pages. OK, whatever.

  • @zucchini2007 Why don't you look it up and verify it?

  • @Boetica1960 Because the NDAA is nearly 1,000 pages long, and I don't have time to read it.

  • nateyj11 - post what IS wrong or different, or shut up.

  • While he said he's not running for the white house before, he would make a damn great secretary of state.

  • If you've actually read the bill, you'll know West is flat-out wrong. He's leaving out the parts that make it so the act DOES apply to U.S. citizens. Not to mention the other acts rammed through shortly afterward that redefine what terror suspects means and that allow for U.S. citizens to be stripped of citizenship.

Allen West, you are as big a traitor to this country as the people who drafted NDAA, those who voted for it, and the president who signed it into law.

  • Amen Allen West! Way to break it down Barney style!

  • Thank you Allen for standing for the Truth and Right..... and debunking the Alex Jones type nuts....

  • @leeuniverse

Nut job? I live in Allen Wests district, and voted for him and met him about 16 times. And I am reconsidering my support for him after the NDA.

  • @HalfBornUnicornFetus Which just proves you are a nut job..... Because you know his honor, you know his character, and yet you STILL willingly believe the nut job propaganda of Alex Jones over a true man of honor and truth Allen West.

  • @leeuniverse

You believe the government should be allowed to detain anyone? Thats not very Conservative...

  • @HalfBornUnicornFetus When did I say I believed that? There however must be "probable cause" to detain someone. That's how it's always been. If you have probable cause, reasonable suspicion, then anyone can be detained.

  • @leeuniverse

Probable cause under this law means people like Ron Paul or myself can be detained for any reason as long a Judge says the cause is probable. And according to Allen Israel First West, being Muslim is probable cause.

  • @HalfBornUnicornFetus Nope.... You lie. Probable cause is behavior and action based, not on "looks", ideology, or otherwise. If someone just robbed a store with a gun, and you are seen walking down the street with a gun, then that's probable cause to detain and question you. If you are just walking down the street with a gun, showing no signs of any criminal behavior, then that IS NOT probable cause to detain and question you. You're talking to a Constitutional/Moralist guy, not a liberal.

  • @HalfBornUnicornFetus Further, you lie about Allen West.... You are clearly a liberal. And yes, Ron Paul is liberal in his anti-war/military and domestic views. But, more so, you are liberal because you lie about conservatives, just like you all currently are doing against Romney. Allen West isn't at all against Muslim's, he's simply factual in relation to the ideology dominant in the group. Israel has been profiling for years now, and even they don't do it by race, but behavior.

  • @leeuniverse

I live in Wests district, I ACTUALLY KNOW HIM. He is blatantly against Muslins, that does not bother me. I am openly against Oslam. I am a Conservative. I OPPOSE Abortion. That makes me pro life, right? WELL WAR IS NOT PRO LIFE. PEOPLE DIE. Ron Pauls views on Domestic Policy are Conservative. Newt, Santorum, Romney, are all LIBERALS.Rick Perry is the only other CONSERVATIVE besides Ron Paul in the race. You have no idea what Conservative and Liberal actually mean.

  • @HalfBornUnicornFetus West is against fanatical Islam, which is the main focus of Islam, he's not against Muslims nor peaceful Islam. You claim to know him, but you don't know him at all. A conservative is pro-freedom & equality for ALL people, thus they are pro-war when a ideology seeks to destroy freedom and equality. You're not a conservative, you're a liberal in your hate of war against fanatical islam. A conservative knows and understands the evil of our time that must be confronted.

  • @leeuniverse

Again, I have met (and like) the man, but opposing radical Islam is differant then instating big govt policies. You must not be pro life, then. You support war.

  • @HalfBornUnicornFetus I'm pro-life because any time you are against evil in the world, you are pro-life. It is YOU who are not "pro-life", because you willingly allow evil to cause misery & death to your brother. I consider all good people of the earth my brother, & I willingly lay down my life for them, so they can be free, so they can have a chance for peace, happiness, everything the Constitution and God and Good stands for. You are pro-evil friend. Because you are an enabler to evil.

  • @leeuniverse

So us bombing and killing a bunch of civilians in order to get one man is pro life? The Constitution does not stand for preemptive, undeclared war, like Iraq. Granted, we should of gone to war in Afghanistan, but Congress should of declared it. And we should be out now. Ofcourse, Im sure you oppose the Libya war, seeing as Obama started it. Bush and Obama are one of the same kind. They are both Socialists.

  • @HalfBornUnicornFetus Use of force was declared and voted for against fanatical islam. That's who we were waring against in Iraq. Thus, war was declared. Yes, not in the way it should have been, but compared to Obama it was at least close enough. Nope, not necessarily against the Libya action, but yes, military powers should have been declared. You claiming Bush/Obama are the same, just tells me you're a moron. Yes, Bush wasn't 100% perfect, but he wasn't anything close to Obama.

  • @leeuniverse .. Iraq pre war was secular. Saddam was absolutely 100% against fanatical Islam as he considered it a threat. Iraq had nothing to do with Extremism nor Terrorism.

  • @neverfearchrisishere Sorry, that's simply false. If you Google it it takes some time to weed through the false reports, false government reports even, but you can find plenty of evidence of Iraq and fanatical Islam pre-war. There is even a very long "time-line" list which proves your claim false. Further, who do you think we were fighting in Iraq for 10 years? It wasn't Iraqi's, it was Fanatical Islam, mostly imported. What do you think Fallujah was? It was a Fanatical Islam stronghold.

  • @leeuniverse Hah what an idiot you are. It wasn't fanatical Islam we were fighting, it was TERROR. Hello?! War on Terror ring a bell for you? We weren't fighting Iraqis, Al Qaeda, or fanatical Islam, WE WERE FIGHTING TERROR YOU MORON!

    /sarcasm

  • @leeuniverse if you search hard enough in google you can also find the real story about the wmd buried in the sand in iraq and the ones dismantled and sent to different countries before the invasion. i'm sure the people at google do not want that information at the top level (and yeah, they do hire people to go through the sites and rate them. it's not one big formula.)

  • @snarkthenews Correct... Most of the WMD's were shipped to Syria pre-war, and much was indeed found. I can't remember who said it when asked maybe Rice, but someone in the admin after was asked why it wasn't announced by the Admin. that WMD's WERE in fact found in Iraq (not just junk leftovers either), and they said that Bush decided to simply move on and not gloat about it. While I can understand that, it was a mistake however. The public needed to know the truth rather than the lie.

  • @leeuniverse Further, what is more sad is that Ron Paul/Alex Jones lovers when these facts are pointed out, they try to say the war was ONLY about "nukes", that it was changed to WMD's later. Sad the lies they tell themselves. It was always about WMD's. Yes, nukes were an issue, that they didn't want them developed and put in terrorist hands, but WMD's overall was always the issue. Sadly I lost a friend when he read my words, he banned me etc. he claimed the nuke only. Unstable they are.

  • @leeuniverse when Rice was in front of Congress they had no proof and had reason to believe that Iraq had none....During congressional investigation you think that would be good time to produce the "proof or even a onuce of proof". stop your propaganda.

  • @MrCheckitout123 Do a simple Google search.... sorry, no propaganda involved at all, simply the facts.

  • @leeuniverse hmmm look up some site on Google or sworn testimony infront of US congress. propaganda..

  • @MrCheckitout123 Facts are facts..... The 9/11 commission didn't have all the facts, as well they weren't looking for them either, being mostly a liberal smear campaign. If anything is "propaganda" is the 9/11 commission report. The actual facts are still out there with NO entity spreading propaganda. Further, many of the facts came AFTER the 9/11 commission report. Again, ignore facts at your own detriment. The only propaganda comes from liberals and liberal Alex Jones lovers.

  • @leeuniverse

Bush sucked, not NEARLY as much as Obama, that we can agree on. We did not fight Al Qaida in Iraq (Al Qaida had Saddan and Qaddaffi on their hit lists, it was the Saudis who really supported them). Iraq was a mistake.

  • @HalfBornUnicornFetus No, we were fighting Al Qaida in Iraq. You need to look at the facts closer. As to Iraq itself, the original mistake was not defeating Saddam the first gulf war, that's when it should have been done. Other mistakes were treating it more like a police action instead of a full war in which the bad guys are fully eliminated quickly and efficiently. A lot of that mistake was due to liberalism interfering, just like they screwed up the Vietnam war.

  • @leeuniverse The question you should be asking is "Why do they hate us" I can tell you right now it has nothing to do with our freedoms. It's cause we've been fucking around over there for decades. If the Chinese or Russian were doing it here you would be pissed to.

  • @CaptainRidley Evil always has an "excuse" to hate.... That doesn't mean the excuse is valid. We could not have a single base etc. over there, and they would STILL hate us. And that's because their religious leaders preach hate from the pulpit. America has helped Arabs in all kinds of ways, to Kuwait, to Afgan's from the Russians, etc. They should love us, because we mostly help. It's because we "exist", because we are the "Great Satan" which is why they hate us, not because of bases etc.

  • @leeuniverse Or maybe it's because we overthrew the Iranian govt in the 50's. Or it's the sanctions we place that kills thousands. Or it's the dictators we support. Or our unquestioned support for Isreal. Or our resource grabbing. I love our country but to act as if we are 100% innocent is nonsense. We can't fix terrorism with war because war breeds it. The middle east doesn't want US style democracy so we shouldn't try and force it on them.

  • @CaptainRidley Dealing with the bad guys of the world does not make us the bad guys..... If we were so 'guilty' as you believe, why is Japan not a Terrorist State against us, why is Germany not, etc. etc.? Again, there is evil in the world, and evil finds an excuse and lies, creating more evil..... You are wrong to blame us or Israel etc. in ANY way. You becometh just as they are, just as liberals are.

  • @leeuniverse It's wrong to critize Isreal in ANY way? Even when they commit war crimes or destroy hospitals? Our country has done wrong in the past and to deny that is blind nationalism. Criticizing your country is patriotic since you are calling out errors and have a desire to fix it. There is a big difference between "dealing" with the enemy and giving them weapons and money. If you think our country has never done any shady deals you need to reaserch history.

  • I disagree. We need more men like this in Congress. He needs to be Speaker of the House.

  • @wolfpat I disagree...there should be more gentleman like Allen in the Congress; it does not matter what position he holds, what we really need is more of those like that so we can pass bills. A person of influence is more important than a person of position.

  • @wolfpat Speaker, or Vice President!

  • @wolfpat Odds are Marko Rubio is going to be the VP and if he is the Gov of Florida will have to pick a person to take Rubio's Senate seat. How great would it be if Allen West was picked to serve the remainder of Rubio's term?

  • RUN for President , Please !
