Hanyuu then had her own daughter,Ouka Furude,kill her so that Hanyuu could act as a sacrifice to atone for the sins of Hinamazawa,so that Hanyuu could bury all the sins with her.

After she died,somehow Hanyuu somehow became a god-like spirit.(Maybe she literally absorbed the sins which gave Hanyuu her abilities?)

Also,if you think about it Hanyuu is actually Rika's ancient grandmother and the Furude family has more Demon blood in it than all the other families in the village.

According to Kotohogushi-hen Story Arc from the Higurashi Nintendo DS game,Hanyuu's real name is "Hainiryuun Ieasomuuru Jieda".(Good luck pronouncing that.....)

Anyway,Hanyuu was actually a Demon who brought her clan (She was the leader of the Demon Clan) to Onigafuchi(Hinamazawa's older name) but the Furude Shrine Priest refused to let them in.However,the priest's son fell in love with Hanyuu and she bore a child named Furude Ouka,which made the priest reconsider.

They also have strong resemblence, and Higurashi may have been the "game" that they said they played a long time ago. Hanyuu and the original Bernkastel were just bystanders for a certain amount of time. Hanyuu became an independent piece that saved the group, and Bernkastel spoke to the younger Takano in Gifu.
