Furthermore, I own NO digital--it is SHITE! Not my fault I've been collecting for 15+ years and know what real instruments are! Never was suckered into crapville digital poop.
If you're shitty about prices, welcome to the club!
But don't blame junkies; blame the people who scour the countryside to find synths only to sell them at outrageous prices to the hair gel covered chump wannabe-musician geek who is dumb enough to pay over-blown prices just to put a synth in his rig to look cool!
im too scared to fire up my t8 if it breaks ill be up shit creek in repairs....
oh well maybe if i hold it long enough it will pay for my sons college....ha
And dont let these fools talk shit.....its not your fault you were buying synths while they were cheaper before the electro scene made everyone want a vintage synth....hence the prices sky rocket to hell !!
linndrums were able to cop at 400 bux..i got my t8 for 400 clams.. keep rocking friend
I think some people are jealous of your synths lewis haha. Well i must say it's good to see someone like myself who is into owning them and having the chance to play them. I just bought a linn drum from USA and had it shipped over here to uk and it cost me an arm and a leg.
in the early 80's my friend had what seemed to be a linn or simmons electronic drum pad with a squelch control on it and he had that sound so famous in planet rock. i also hope you can duplicate the sound that runs withthe hi hat in certain parts of the song
what i am hoping you will do is listen to 'planet rock' by afrika bambaataa and soulsonic force and duplicate that song. especially the 'plip-plop' electronic drum sound that runs with the 808 drum machine
i think all your videos are great man! i know where you are coming from. you have the original synths you worked hard to collect and are learning the science of how these great songs were made back then,jD
whats wrong with owning what it got? im not showing off. im not like that. there's way too many opinions in music. why don't us as musicians pass good comments and practical advice that we can learn from and maybe help each other out? i am 23 years old. i wouldn't say a bad word about you'r video or anyone else, i'd keep it to myself. i only would mention something positive to a youtube'r. as off now. lets keep the youtube communty sweet. and help each other out. thanks lewis
Man,I'm amazed at how educately you take the punches they send to you again and again. You're such a kind and pacific being!I wouldn't have the patience.
thanks, yeah. basically i like to get to the bottom things to settle it. i dont see the point in saying things like that to us youtuber's ive seen a lot of really bad comments on here. much worse.
this is the only vid at the moment. sorry you dont like it. but i will do more one day. that show the full capability of the machine. what sounds do you prefer? brass? strings? bass?
i prefer mystic sound, like Joe Zawinul did on his T8. He was the Master and the best. sorry if i was violent !.. you play what you want.. lol but i d'love to own a T8! bye
None of all these, but real synth sounds that the prophet can Do, the sweeping and deep pads , the weird and spacy sounds. Here, personaly, what I'd like to here. Not just some uninteresting brass sounds.
what a bunch of jealous bitches! Just cause he has an awesome analog synth collection. 80's synthpop is great. Apart from Billy Currie & a few others at the time most guys used sequencers, no great virtuoso playing skills. Good on ya Lewis, a fan of prophets & bronski beat is ok by me.
Mate, you seem to know what the best synths are, as you own every single one of them, but judging by that sound the T8 produces, you have no idea how to program sounds and how to use them.
Instead of buying every top model synth in existance, try learning one synth first, learn how to create sounds and apply them in a musical way. Create your own ideas and stop mimicking 80's one hit wonders.
thanks mate, you have no idea what sounds i've programmed into my machines. or my programming skills either. programming is my passion. my aim is to get the sounds i like before i learn to play something. this is just a video clip DEMO. of one of my favourite songs. please read the comment next to the video.
thanks, i like 80's music. my first clip was improvised. but strangely wasn't really my style. my clips have only ever been my own sounds i programmed before shooting the clip. i certainly know how to programm analog synths, but its explaining it clearly that poeple understand. i may not be a very good teacher if you know what i mean. did you want to see programming tips or something??? or are you still using factory programs?? not that some factory programs are o.k.
You just might impress people more with your programming skills than with your playing, that's what I meant. You are like a collector of Rolls Royces that only drives them from the garage to the end of the drive way.
well thats what my first few videos consist of. i cant change those. do you mean to sound offensive when you say about my playing???? don't you think it can be hard at times to come up with something that don't sound like someone else????, yet sounds really good???
Depends if you feel offended by it. It's an oppinion. That's what you're after when you post a video, innit, oppinions? If someone told me my playing sucked, I'd spend my money on taking lessons, instead of buying another vintage synth to try and impress others. Being offensive is saying someone bad that isn't true.
very good and wow you have lots of synths

Geez! What a lot of whining haters!
Some of us are smart enough to collect synths and NOT do these:
1. Have kids
2. Buy new cars
3. Buy nice clothes
4. Travel
5. Eat anything besides Ramen
6. Buy costly useless stuff like... oh... golf clubs!
Seriously though... I'd rather be cash poor with a room full of synths than live in comfort!
Don't blame folks who are enthusiasts/addicts for your lack of synths; instead, try getting motivated to earn a few bucks--or rob a bank!

This must be Richie Rich - stately home owner and synthesizer collector.

Pitty that such fine instruments are owned by a collector instead of a musician.

Please keep on doing your your cut and paste thing and let the guy defend himself. Are you his big brother or what?
Lewis seems to be a nice guy, my reaction to his video wasn't meant to offend him as a person.

Take the comments as advice, not as criticism.
If you only want positive comments, change the options so you can filter out the bad comments.
Show us a video where you explain how to program an analog synth? There's not many vids doing that, so there's a new challange for ya.
