i have a meteorite (i think) a small portion of it is red and bumpy the rest is smooth black mixed with blue and a little bit clear yellow when it gets in water the red part turns dark red and the whole thing gets little green parts on it if its a meteorite,please tell me. if its not please tell me what it is.

I found a meteorite when i was a kid,and did not know about meteors, so i threw it back down..but i remember it was very odd and heavy and somehow different,it looked just like one of these...i know where i threw it...35 years ago...lol...i wonder if i could find it again..i just bought a metal detector..its about 10 miles from me now..it was in my back yard,right by the river,before i moved.

well I agree with your findings on the small rocks

BUT when you have larger astriods falling to earth everything you stated falls under what you can expact from smaller rocks...

I found a astriod with Vent tubes and volcano activity with...ROCKS WITH HOLES IN THEM JUST LIKE EARTHS VALCANO'S

I FOUND NONE MAGNETIC ROCKS...THE CRUST AND CORE ARE MOSTLY NONE MAGNETIC AND ONLY HINTS OF IRON IN THEM.

i seem to catch these rocks when trapping rain in a parabolic dish when no rocks are arround i own a meteorite will soon show a video

The rock i found have a leather like dark brown burnt surfcae texture, it has a lot of glassy flakes all over the interior. When the rock is wet some of the flakes get green. The rock has all the features you mention above ,except one! It does not attract magnet . Could it still be a meteor?

If you find what is possibly a meteor in a river or creek is it possible that it would be smoother like a river rock?
