  • Yeah, I CAN actually do 20 pullups with my ENTIRE chin directly above the poll. This guy here didn't do ONE full chinup...and look at how fast he's going to boot. It takes 2 sec for me to do one pullup. It takes 2 sec for this guy to go up and down quickly TWICE.

  • @bscutajar why I feel as though I need to justify myself to you I don't know. Regardless, a chinup is performed with a supernated grip. A pullup is executed with a pronated grip. In competition for pullups or chinups or during basic training for many military courses, if your chin does not come above the bar for a chinup or pullup, it does not count. Ask any military instructor. I understand this is not a competition however,

  • @IceDragonsify That's not optimal for e-bragging and muscle building, unfortunately. For one, you obviously get less reps. By hanging at the bottom, you lose muscle tension and allow a split second recovery. Not desirable unless you specifically want it. Touching the bar is also not desirable. The pull up primarily works the lats and back, and the the touch at the end is primarily an arm movement, which is a waste of energy when focusing on just your back.

  • @IceDragonsify And actually, someone pointed out that these are WIDE grip pull ups. Hanging from a wide pull up is NOT the best thing you can do for your shoulders.

  • @unlockthepower Do pullups everyday. All types, no less then 5 reps. Front, back, underhand, wide grip. Do at least 5 of each type everyday but not all at once, separated throughout a workout or just the day. I promise results will come fast. They did for me at least when I had one of those easy to assemble Pullup bars for my door frame. Best investment I ever made for 30 or so bucks. Just make sure you don't weigh too much for the door frame to support lol.

  • @unlockthepower Yeah I am pretty light, or I was, I am like ten pounds heavier now then when I was doing body weight training and I think within 2 or 3 months I went from a max of 8 pull ups in a row to 18. I would do as many as I could of wide grip, then I would do a different exercise. Come back and do wide to the back, another exercise. Come back and do underhand, etc. Come back and finish with hammer grip pull ups. By the time you get to those though, don't expect too much lol.

    As for locking out the elbows on the way down then he is wise not to do so as this may increase the risk of injury to the shoulders. The whole point of wide grip pull ups is to mainly workout the back muscles so why risk injuring your shoulders doing so???

  • You guys, there are things called gyms. Those monkey bars at the park were intended for the little kids to play on, hang upside down on, etc.. Don't know how long ya'll been outta prison, but seriously, check out the gyms in your area, you'll be surprised at all the equipment they have.

  • @redwerr pull-up bars, rings, and dip bars were installed at parks and trails because back in the 70's many thought you can get a good strength training workout while on a run or playing sports. so cities installed them. and why pay for a gym when you can use the pull-up bar. a test of mans gut strength by mounting and preforming full-extension pull-ups. look at people back in the 70's. slim, cut, fast, strong and fit. look at people now. slow, strong, bulky looking, unable to run a 6:00min mile

  • @TheDipsKing I do wide grip and my chin is always over the bar when i finish a rep and usually my chest hits the bar. He can't go lower but he can get his chin higher. I'm not hating though, this is a way to do them too but he really should be trying to touch the sky not to just make 20 reps. I am 159 lbs and I can do about 15 right now, front and back and I go higher then this guy. Some days I only do 12 but I never cheat myself and my chin is always as high as possible.
