i have 1 10" P3 (p200.2amp) and my friend has 2 12"(2000watt amp) memphis mojos. His is sealed and mine is ported and he was like "why is yours louder than mine? i was like Because i have Rockford Fosgate and not an offbrand amp and a ported Super Bass Probox and not a Downfire sealed box.

@The1olemissfan yeah my buddys 5500 watt power acoustik amp on 2 15's was somehow quieter then my 2 rockford t1 12's on a 2500.1bd....weird some people just need to do a little research before they dive into a 10,000 watt amp for 125 bucks haha.

another thing too. u might have a sub thats 87 db and u put it ina ported box. it might not be louder than another sub thats 89 in a sealed box. cus u already gained ur 3 decibels with the bigger sub. and its in a sealed box. but when they say a ported is louder. they mean when u take the same exact sub n switch it in another box. subs are different. not always a box is louder than another

the fuked up thing about a ported box is the peak isnt the loudest at the tuning port. n the steep rolloff is 24. daz messed up. n i think the reason why a ported box has peaks like over the tuning port is cus the steep rolloff. maybe if it wasnt so steep it would have a peak tuning frequency. but its hard to do that cus the ported box would roll off even steeper if it was at the tuning. it would be way too sharp. so its above it. to smoothe it out. n be a smoother roll off.
