In 1934 at NSU, Ferdinand Porsche developed the "Type 32" with a rear-mounted, air-cooled flat four (similar to aircraft engines Porsche had designed at Daimler) and a steel body that at least suggested the Beetle yet to be.
Having gone through several more...stages of development (series "VW 3", "VW 30"), the first Volkswagen car was presented to Hitler in 1938. It included all the features ordered by Hitler, the engine was placed at the rear of the car, and the shape of the car was quite specific - it was very round. That was the reason why it got its nickname "Beetle". An American reporter thought it looked like an insect, and so the "Beetle" was born. Yes it it s beetle and yes it is a Porsche.
Can you still get heat off the engine for the cabin?

As the info states "Stock type 4 914 2.0 engine...". There nothing saying that it's a Porsche 914 car, just that it's the engine.
