My very first TRUE exposure to belly dance was at a salon in Santa Cruz California with Helene and FCBC. I was so blown away at the time having them up close and personal. My favorite part is when there are some coming forward in a chifti or tabla and the back gals just vamp. NOTHING more impressive or beautiful!

OMG really? your like my favorite dancer! I live in Iowa :) Did you go to the fcbd classes in Rock Island today? I wanted to go soooo bad! Im a huge fan and pretty much wanted to curl up in a ball and die when I figured out I couldnt come :( Anyways your dancing is amazing!

The name of the troupe doesn't refer to the size of the dancers. It's about not being objectified to the stereotypes of bellydance.
"Hey baby, how about a private show?"

being a "plus sized" bellydancer I never knew that was why they called it fat chance and also assumed it was in reference to body size. either way it is still a fantastic name for a dance troupe. In fact I think I like it better now! lol
