  • Drummer is a champion

  • Wow grooving! Love it!

  • great drummer!!!

  • like Buddy Rich!!!

  • @yamashi2222 Thank you! Very nice of you to think so.

However, It's not possible to even come close to Buddy; he has a unique combination of everything a real drummer needs, but he SURE IS the greatest source of inspiration! :-)

  • @rogerbergbigband Its the closest thing I've seen to Mr. Rich. Did you ever study or collaborate w/him?

  • @rogerbergbigband Uh maaaaaaaaaaaaan!!! I'm so happy I found this video... That's some very serious material. You sure spent remarkable amount of your valuable time and talent on studying Mr. Rich's "wonderfullnes"! and... you came as close as it gets i think! I'm blown away I''m a BB drummer myself and know what we are talking about... ONCE more! THATS MIND BLOWING! Great JOB! I sure will come back to your videos with joy! THANK YOU!!!

  • @rogerbergbigband i have to say though - some of those licks i've heard from BR's solos - brilliantly played. you've got the frantic edge but still supremely controlled. The white jacket helps too, hahaha!

  • Beautiful drumming!!!!!

  • @metachozoite It's a 20" A Zildjian Rock Ride. It's been with me a couple of years now. :-)

  • Try tapping 8th notes with your left foot, now fourths and the occasional double kick with your right foot, now play pretty much every single rudiment in the book at 230+BPM while keeping each foot exactly in time. You now have the amount of talent as one of this drummers finger nails.

  • I like the original arrangement much better, but that guy kills on drums. Dynamite chops and wonderful playing.

  • where's the clarinet?

  • @woutdegroot This is a chart without the original clarinet part. We have another chart now which is much closer to the BG original.

  • @rogerbergbigband

    Thanks for awnsering ^^

  • Roger Berg. Den bästa trummisen vi har i Sverige och Norden. Han är helt sanslöst bra.

  • 8th notes the whole time on hi hat with quarter note bass drum and his solo takes the best ive ever seen for this song ;O im in love <3

  • wow dude your almost as good as travis barker

  • @brakatt trolololol

  • @brakatt ahahahahah No TrAvIs Is FuCkiNg The BeSt!!!!!1111!!111!!1!1!!1

  • Fantastic X 100 !! COOOOOL

  • i love his style he is so smooth and powerfull at the same time

  • Bravo!

  • wow. One day I will open a club and this is he kind of music i will play. none of this hippity hoppity crap. This is real talent.

  • man drummers like him are what the world needs more of. awesome groove, awesome solo and the freedom of his limbs when he plays is amazing. looking at so many drummers these days they're uptight and sloppy but this is just about perfect. well played sir.

  • thats the best solo in the drum history! x3 u rock roger berg!

  • no clarinet, but there is a sax battle.

  • Now, thats a cool drummer! Kudos!

  • Saw alot of buddy rich in that solo, yes?

  • @ej92892 totally agree

right to the count in coming out from the solo

    haha

  • This is SMOKIN' ROGER!! Well done!

I'm a tad bemused by some of these other comments! Percussion is not at all 'overpowering". This was a 'live' recording. Can't judge the balance of a live recording. And of course its not like the 'original'! That's been DONE! Its supposed to have some 'originality'! Its called ARTISTIC LICENCE! Making the piece 'your own'. This is just my 2 cents! And I say BRAVO!!

  • To be perfectly frank, it's not bad.

However, it is a little too fast...

    and there's no clarinet.

Another thing is, the percussion is overpowering everything else.... which is not too good.

Anyways, besides those few flaws... very well done (:

  • @DeathlySorrow people like you are rly a pain in the ass, try doing a drum sole like this, do it beter, upload it and then have something to say about his drum sole you idiot.

  • @DeathlySorrow Maybe if you watch it again, you'll notice how close the kit is to the camera as opposed to everything else

  • I wouldn't say it "sucks" but it does not compare to the original.

They're using saxophones for as an intro instead of trumpets.

    They're using a guitar.

The drummer changed the arrangement up. He's very skilled but not playing the original. But I would love to see Gene Krupa and him in a drum off.

The final nail being, NO CLARINET!

Good but does not compare to the original.

  • this guy is an animal.....

  • Excellent ,smooth, right in the pocket drummer, great how he builds up the intensity on the solo.and then trows in all these diffrent chops.Makes me want to practice so I can be half as good before I die.

  • wow it's fantastic

  • good big band, good drummer, nice job all around

  • awesome how you can hum the song in your head along with the drum solo. Good job!

  • Smooth drummer.Very little body movement. His hands and the sticks did all the talking. Left handed snare roll...verrrry impressive.

The tempo did not fluctuate at all.

Nice to see him play his solo with dynamics.

    Awesome talent!

  • Roger. You really swing man.

    Great chops too.

    Congratulations

  • Sveriges Gene Krupa!!!!!!

  • He just saw a fly, and wanted to kill it... with a stick!

And BTW - whith planet is he from? o_O

  • The swedish Buddy Rich

  • When it comes to playing; YES! But he is a really nice guy! Buddy was a bit... how shall I put it... angry... ;-)

    Roger is cool!

  • I own those drums noob

  • Excellent!

  • Nice job.
