the rich -collectively- benefit and evidently benefit more from having an educated, stable, industrious society where people are happy and productive. this is simply payback.
the way we keep society and economy progressing is to improve healthcare, education, creativity, productivity, stability etc. therefore when we tax the rich more, as long as we invest this money efficiently to help create the environment where this progress is encouraged, the rich also benefit from this on the long run.
