  • Ever notice how the guy says "aluminum" wrong towards the end of this segment....he says "aloomenyum"....LOL!!!

  • @XXXCutie17 Because it's actually supposed to be spelled aluminium, but in the US we spell and pronounce it as aluminum. It is believed to have come from an spelling error on an advertisement way back then and so Americans say aluminum.

  • I love UK accents!

  • he was Rapid with that knife!

  • eating only the amount of salmon on the package is torture, and i bet you each package is expensive as a pound of salmon or so.

  • I love it with lemon and olive oil for breakfast and toast.

  • SALON SMOKING OFF LI MTEDS

  • 1:59 anybody know what the 26 spices are ?

  • if u want lots of smoked salmon, go to a mar mitzvah, theres so much they even have leftovers

  • You know, the kind of smoke salmon at a bar mitzvah (lox) isn't really that good compared to how northern European style of smoking salmon. Jewish style of smoked salmon tends to be a bit dry and a lot more salty. Northern European style of smoking salmon is more subtle in flavour and the salmon is almost like butter in texture.

  • well the smoked salmon ive had at mar mitzvahs isnt dry and isnt salty at all, they probably just buy it in packs and out it out on a platter, any way buy any pack of smoked salmon and on the back it always says (U) Kosher, wonder why?

  • Look up "lox" on Wikipedia. Traditional Jewish lox is prepared differently than the northern European style of lox. What you're tasting at bar mitzvahs is possibly not the traditional Jewish lox. The product being labelled kosher doesn't mean it's a traditional Jewish form of cuisine. It just means it's kosher to eat.

  • I appreciate smoked salmon more after watching this.

  • srsly, now i need smoked salmon, toasted onion bagels, cream cheese, sliced onions, lettuce, and some poached eggs for my Super Nova Lox breakfast!

    oh yeah.. hot coffee...

  • why do they make filleting seem so easy?

  • OMG I SO want smoked salmon right now.. yum!

  • INfreakingDEED smoked salmon ahhh i love that thing i could eat like 50 of those packages before i would feel bad xD

  • Might seem like a newbie question but, What does smoked salmon taste like?

    I never had salmon before..

  • I can't really explain it. Without the right sauce, it tastes kind of weird but I like it with lemon and cheese. :)

  • oOoh lol

Your suppost to eat it with a sauce?

I WANNA FIND THIS AT THE SUPERMARKET.

If i wake up early enough for it anywaysT^T

  • No wonder they are so expensive!!

  • I was thinking the exact same thing.

  • wow.. this is good quality shit

  • This is QUALITY. I've gotta try some of this--looks like Grizzly brand.

  • I love how they take careful steps of good hygenic handling the fresh fish thru out the whole processing to cut down on any contemination.

Well done! I would buy this brand of smoked fish.

  • could you use smoked salmon for sashimi too?

  • sashimi just means eating the raw fish by itself, so if u could withstand the saltyness by eating it on its own...sure :)

  • 1:23 reminds me of sardines...

  • just a question to anyone that smokes meat do i have to like brine the fishes like put it in salt? or can i just smoke it right away

  • u dont have to put the salmon in salt if you dont want to

  • It is better to brine under pressure (ie squashed) in a home environment. to remove moisture. After brining leave it a refrigerator uncovered for 24 hours. It forms a tacky outside layer called a pellicle which helps the smoke stick to it. The difficulty in the home environment is cold smoking as you have to keep the temperature under 90F so it doesn't cook. If you raise the temp to 135 you will end up with hot-smoked salmon - a completely different disk, but useful for making pates.

  • I always wondered why they soaked them in brine. ta.

  • i could not work there i'd be munching all day long!

  • far out...

  • LOL...like totally bra

  • Smoked Salmon is so yummy. I always wondered why it is so expensive, and now I see. Its so many steps for just a few slices of salmon!

  • Looks delicious. Wish I could handle a knife like those people do. I wonder what they do with the skin?

  • DAMN! that de-skinner was insane!

  • i wonder how much fish is chucked away per day? but its still yummy : D

  • It's recycled into other products including animal feed so there is relatively no waste.

  • i want to build a smoke hut in my garden :)! tho i have never caught a salmon i fish for trout, think i will need to start salmon fishing!

  • You can smoke trout also

  • Yummy but expensive and I see why now.

  • totally

  • OOOOO... I love smoked salmon... Yumm..... I laughed when the fishes were STICK straight.

  • You're not the first and I'm sure you won't the last.

We've always used 'fillet' in the UK.

  • @Triwood1973 fill lay sounds so stupid, fillet for life

  • @ZombiCheese go away american

  • @kukubird92 I'm not even american. I'm singaporean.

  • @ZombiCheese Also if you use the rules of the english language where to have the A sound not the a sound, there has ti be a consonant THEN a vowel and their is none so it is so posed to be pronounced Fil-it.

  • Wow, that salmon looked so good when the workers were picking out the bones!

  • i saw that brand "GRIZZLY" in supermarket!

  • Because it is a French word, and that's how they sayit...

  • actually the pronunciation depends on where you are from, the english pronounce the t just as they do with valet. You could call it an accent thing.

  • Because it is a French word, and that's how they sayit...

  • I'm pretty sure its pronounced Fill-ay not Fill-it.

  • in america its fillae and in england its fillet.

    dont know abuot french lol

  • we should kidnap those salmons

  • wow talk about having really good knife skills in order to cut that fast and accurately !

  • the below comment was intended for uni000ver000sal. sorry. very good video. i steelhead all winter.

  • you seee how much they stinking give each pack like 4 slices WTF for like 5 pounds ! FUCKing hell thats a ripoff

  • haha they cant say aluminum they say alewminium

  • 'They' can't say 'aluminum' because 'aluminum' isn't a real world is it?

  • 'They' can't say 'aluminum' because 'aluminum' isn't a real world is it?

  • Aluminum is a true word. In America they say Aluminum, in Great-Brittain they say Aluminium.

    (or vice versa).

  • I suggest you get your taste buds checked?

Looks like it is pretty fucked!

  • seriously, the fact that they keep mispronouncing fillet it bugs the fuck out me.

  • it's only a mispronunciation on your part. remeber, this film is fucking ENGLISH and remember what language YOU speak. That's right, ENGLISH not fucking FRENCH. tosser

  • okay... well first off I'm American not French you notice I DO speak English. And I would probably be offended if I knew what a tosser was. the word fillet is adopted from the French language so the least you could do is pronounce it the way the French do. Fill-ay not fill-it. Why must the english misprnounce everything?

  • exactly, your an AMERICAN that speaks ENGLISH so its not the ENGLISH who mispronounce things is it? Cunt! and the word fillet is derived from the old English word 'Flitches' which was used to describe half an animal, or side, in the abottoir (abottoir IS a french derived word)so you see, the mispronunciation, as i said before, is on your part. a tosser is a wanker which you clearly are.

  • sorry what i meant to say is 'why do the BRITISH always have to mispronounce everything.' and no fillet is not an old english word. if you actually use a dictionary as a source 'fill' is orginaly French meaning a thin cut or ribbon. yes, the british added the 'et' on the end around 1300 A.C. but it's still an orginal French word. try using a real dictionary next time asshat. you better get going you're going to miss tea time you fucking fog breather.

  • wrong again, the french word refers to an ornamental headband. hardly something applied to the fishmonger and butchery trade. as stated above its derived from the english word flitch. OED. but besides you being wrong on THAT point, you have failed to notice your blinding mistake. If the english did add, as you say the 'et' to the end of the word then surely it should be pronounced fill'et' and not fill'ay'. if the english added it, then you should pronounce it the english way

  • pick, as the say in sunny england, the bone out of that you ignorant american snatch

  • WTF! r u going to keep drawing this thing out or what. get a fucking life already i'm sick of arguing with you. all i ever see in my inbox is your anal retentive comments wasting my time.

  • How can someone who doesn't know the difference between "your" and "you're" be trusted to know anything about language?

  • That was interesting. Thanks for posting!

  • its pronounced Fil-AY not Fill-ette

  • no, it's pronounced fillet you fucking american moron. not fillay, that would be al la fracoise. fuckup

  • 'LORDLAGOS' and 'dawq1157'

Nice to see a Yankee having a shit fight with a Pohme.
