  • £1.24 on steam!?!??! everybody go and buy it :)

  • Even in death you're still a deciding factor on whether or not I buy a game.

    Badass.

  • @666OrWhat Well said. Ideally worded. I was just thinking that. I didnt actually know this game existed before watching this review just now. Thank you, Fatman. Only problem with this review is its too short.

  • just bought it for 2,50€ on steam.

  • £2.75 on Steam at the moment. Got it now :)

  • R.I.P

  • I think the bad English makes it kind of funny :)

  • I want this game really bad.

  • Ah, E.Y.E sounds like a game that (at least at the time this video was made) needs more work to be user friendly and to correct balancing and bugs.

  • It also didn't help the game that it was released around the same time as the mighty Deus Ex: Human Revolution, did it?

  • this game is also only like 17$

  • I love your reviews and your insights into video games. The only thing I would change is the editing - to better display the things you are talking about, and to show more variety. Keep up the great work!

  • The devs are aware of the problems and have recently released a patch that is supposed to vastly improve the experience.

  • What a shame. Was looking forward to this game to keep me occupied for a while as I wait anxiously for ME3

  • @asdfgoogle Yeah the picture quality sucked. It was a new PC and I didn't have my stuff installed.

As for the length, if you don't like it, you aren't my target audience. You may as well not bother with any of my other reviews.

  • @asdfgoogle I would've though that the quality of the review was based on writing, not the accompanying video

  • This game would be great in a mesh cyberspace game.

  • @kablasoni Do you realise that it takes me 5 seconds to remove your comment and block you, and I don't even need to waste my time reading most of your comment in the first place.

I know this is the internet and most people are incapable of acting like adults, but please, try.

  • the animations look VERY half life 2y. If that makes any sense.

  • Lovely review ^^

  • I COMPLETELY agree with this review. I couldn't even pay attention to the objectives after a while because i was so bored with the story.

  • You should get a job reviewing games for a website or something man (If you haven't already), your reviews are seriously better than 90% of the so called 'journalists' out there.

Great review, look forward to the next one!

  • Too bad this game is overshadowed by Deus Ex 3 and Hard Reset. It looks like a great game.

  • @SabreTX

    Wuh...? JRPGS?

  • Yay!

  • .............maguffin?

  • @42crazyguy McGuffin

  • 2 things. 1, there is a fan made english patch coming out that rumours have might be made official. Also they highered a pro translator who shafted them. As for the hacking being the best. I disagree. Fallout 3 and NV had better systems that actually felt like you were breaking into a computer. The new Deus Ex also has a good hacking system.

  • @SabreXT

You actually enjoyed Fallout3/NV's little broken word game that often contradicts itself?

    Dear god.

  • @LiamNeesonsDick Nick job taking a crap on other peoples preferences. Do you have anything to add beyond "It sucks" as to why it's bad?

  • Comment removed

  • @SabreXT

And you actually felt like you were breaking into a computer using that hacking system?

The feeling of breaking into a computer is waiting for an algorithm to find the correct password.

Not play a broken word puzzle.

  • @LiamNeesonsDick At what point did I say realistic? And what's to say that's not how wasteland computers work?

To me, playing the word game felt much more involved than playing some half arsed JRPG fighting system with a poor UI.

  • @SabreXT

At what point did I say you said realistic? Oh I never did, okay then.

I never said that isn't how wasteland computers work.

That's what's so inane; it *is* how they work and it defies all logic.

...what does this have to do with JRPGs?

    Where did that come from?

  • Best come back show :D

  • Your back! Great review as always!

  • I'm downloading this game, it looks fantastic.

  • No 720p or higher? :(

  • Absolutely one of the greatest in-depth reviewers I have come across - always valid observations and a non-biased standpoint along with gameplay and a scoring system that actually makes sense.

Keep up the stellar work good sir, looking forward to your next review and those after it.

  • Great review. I was wondering about this game. It managed to completely slip under my radar until after its release, and that doesn't happen often. I'll give it a buy when/if it goes on sale.

  • Nice review :D Glad to see another one

  • I won't lie I was worried about you reviewing newer games as your style fits the older pc games with all the complex systems and unique ideas as you obviously do them justice with a proper well thought out review with a good background. Well you managed to do the same with a modern game as still left me amazed. Fantastic review!

  • Great review.

  • Glad to hear from you, again. Do you think potential patches could equalize the problems or are - figuratively speaking - the wounds too deep?

  • What's with the video quality ASFM? Did your computer have major problems running and recording this, or did you just screw over the rendering somewhere?

This entire game seems like a case of trying to squeeze too much into a single game, perhaps if it was created by a triple A studio it would've been a great game, but it seems like these indie developers just didn't have enough resources to get everything knitted together and polished.

  • Yaaay! ASF back on the ball! =] This looks like a game I'd enjoy. Love the aesthetic.

  • /possibly spoilerish////basically, the werewolves, white dressed women, lizardmen, etc. are explained by saying that there is some powerful psychic force that is creating monsters based on peoples fears for the goal of either wiping out people or stopping them from expanding.

  • @TeutonicJoe Yeah that's the impression I got, but I thought there'd be more to it. It just seems so goofy.

  • Great review. I'm so glad that unlike other reviewers who review before they've really gotten into the game, you took the time to go in depth. This is the kind of review that really motivates me to buy the game and try it out.

  • Awesome review great to see you back in business :D

  • I'll look into it if it's cheap.

  • Happy I subbed.

  • @xbox360player88 Me too.

  • Do you still play on your old rig?! It certainly looks like it =P

  • The key phrases I locked onto was "skipped some text" and "no money at start". Maybe you didn't find out about crouching saving energy until the end because you "skipped some text", maybe because you "skipped some text" you didn't work out that if you can hack security doors and people, maybe you can hack cash machines, etc?! Maybe you are a busy chap and prefer voice over and compass pointers? Like Oblivion Vs Morrowind? Many on You Tube, and me, seemed to "get" this game quicker than you.

  • @HardWarUK

    tl;dr

  • @LiamNeesonsDick fg;yh back at you.

  • @HardWarUK Maybe you should lock onto the phrase 'after a few hours'... if I don't understand parts of a game after hours, it's because the game is badly designed.

I don't like to be spoonfed, but that doesn't make it acceptable for a game to be alienating and confusing.

  • @HardWarUK I also didn't say no money, I said little money, which is true when you factor in how expensive stuff is. Tier 1 things should be cheap so that your basic build takes form early, then specialisation should be expensive. I don't want to lack core skills half way through the game unless I grind.

Also, I think you're ignoring the problems the game has just because you like it, which is something else many on YouTube do. The confusing stuff isn't the game's only crippling issue.

  • Funnily enough, this is exactly how I would describe DX. *Very very* good, but also highly flawed. I'll have to check this one out.

  • Well, after this review it would seem I'm subbing. Fatman, do you think you'd ever review FO3? Seems like the type of thing you'd despise. Which always makes for great reviews!

  • I always trust your reviews when looking for a new game to play, if i could choose anyone to review all games im looking at it would be the Antisocial fatman. Thanks for another great upload, cheers.

  • You sir, just made my day

  • Finally, more reviews, I love your voice.

  • This review made my morning

  • Is this game french in original?

  • @MisterAAnderson I don't know if there even is a French language version, but the devs are French. If there is one, it's probably really good.

  • @antisocialfatman Hmm ok, thanks for telling me.

  • @antisocialfatman Like in the original Deus Ex, this has a cyber punk feel, meaning katana's and a Japanese feel in the cities with dragon statues and Chinese writing. hence the voice work is a nonesensical Japanese type language, like the Sims, but more serious. My score is 9/10. It weas obvious this would get low scores because it doesn't hold your hand.

  • @HardWarUK

There's a HUGE difference between not holding the player's hand and serving them a mess of gameplay mechanics.

A difference you appear not to understand.

  • @LiamNeesonsDick Well, a patch is already out and another is on the way. But there is not as much wrong with this game as the reviewer says. And most of You Tube video's agree with me not him. Although there is one review that is even worse, demanding all games with the slightest roleplaying needs to look like and play like Oblivion, even if from an indie company with 10 guys....!

  • @HardWarUK

Well if you don't consider skill imbalances and poorly-explained mechanics wrong, then okay.

What exactly does most of youtube's videos have to do with this? More people's opinions are meaningless.

  • @HardWarUK When you cite "the rest of youtube" as being your reason of being right, you're definitely wrong.

  • @theaznfishy The rest of Youtube agrees with you.

  • @HardWarUK It's not an issue of the game "Holding your hand", it's an issue of convolution. I personally start every single game I play on the absolute hardest difficulty, then if it's "cheap", I turn the difficulty down one notch. I'm a huge fan of difficult games. EYE is actually not terribly difficult, it's just so incredibly convoluted that it's impossible to know what you're doing most of the time. And that is a bad design choice, period.

  • Great review, completely agreed!

  • love your reviews!

  • Hi people, I'm first so can we keep the rest of the comments about the review
