The scene you talk about was important in the 5th book, but hardly a life changing moment. That was example of a friend reasuring someone else that it would be alright.
And a fangirl could be rude to their heroes. They don't all act the same, you know.
And you can't have lust without jealously. Really, its almost impossible for one to go without the other. If someone has something you want, then you lust it, and your jealous of the other person who has it.
Girls don't became good friends without spending much time with each other.
But we barely ever hear about Hermione and Ginny hanging out together. Ginny wasn't that important to mentioned her much in book 2-4 (4 not 5, becau in the 5th book she has a great role)

If you want to establish a proper relationship within the books, then it needs time to become great. It needs a lot more than two yeras that are both divided by two years! And we didn't really see her much in the 5th book, other than Dumbledore's army and the Ministry battle
I read the whole discussion about that Ginny/Cho/Harry thing.
I liked Cho, she was a nice girl. Hurt by destiney, so I think it is not suprising that she's a bit hysteric.

First it's the whole thing about "Ginny never spent time with them". How do you know? The books don't tell us about every day of their lives. For example Hermione and Ginny are pretty good friends.

ok, after checking the book, I concer that point, No point arguing that, but I do refute ur statement that Harry loves Ginny. Its called lust. "A raging beast in Harry's stomach", well who honestly hasn't had that before for a boy/girl? They spent about a term together, harldy enough time for a stable relationship, before Harry dumps her, arbite for a good reason. He then spends the best part of a year away from her. That does not mean that he is in love with her.
He spends that time watching her dot and pining for her. But that's not saying he was in love with her then but he had to be feeling more than lust to miss her that much. There's 19 years where we only have our iminginations to determine what happens. They have 19 years to let their love grow. I honestly believe that Harry ought to have gone with either a Muggle or a Slytherin OC. With a Muggle, Harry could escape the pressures of the wizarding world, and the role he was forced into. Or with a Slytherin...well, I just like the idea of it :p

If you want to establish a proper relationship within the books, then it needs time to become great. It needs a lot more than two yeras that are both divided by two years! And we didn't really see her much in the 5th book, other than Dumbledore's army and the Ministry battle

I read the whole discussion about that Ginny/Cho/Harry thing.
I liked Cho, she was a nice girl. Hurt by destiney, so I think it is not suprising that she's a bit hysteric.
But I think Dungbats is wrong at some points:
First it's the whole thing about "Ginny never spent time with them". How do you know? The books don't tell us about every day of their lives. For example Hermione and Ginny are pretty good friends.

I don't know what other reassurance you need, but seeing as the book obviously reads that Harry kissed her, not Ginny kissed him, then you're in denial. Or to give you credit, you could of read it wrong. Either way, Harry loves Ginny!

ok, after checking the book, I concer that point, No point arguing that, but I do refute ur statement that Harry loves Ginny. Its called lust. "A raging beast in Harry's stomach", well who honestly hasn't had that before for a boy/girl? They spent about a term together, harldy enough time for a stable relationship, before Harry dumps her, arbite for a good reason. He then spends the best part of a year away from her. That does not mean that he is in love with her.

There's 19 years where we only have our iminginations to determine what happens. They have 19 years to let their love grow. If JRK had actually made the pairing more realistic, instead of using a Mary Sue, then yeah, most people would've accepted it. Instead, we have a fangirl whose very forward, a Weasley (who looks like Harry's mum" and who is conveniantly one of Harry's best friend's sister, whose family he'd love to be included in. quite honestly, I do think that. Seeing as they only hung out with each other for one year (sixth year), its quite easy to believe that. Added to all the people around Ginny (year below Harry's) who see Harry as an icon, its not to hard to believe that Harry would still be seen as the "boy who lived".

That's not right, Harry only met Ginny first in book 2, when we saw her as a fangirl (whether she was or not is irrelevant at this time). There is no indidcation whatsoever that at that time in book two up to book 6 that he liked her or knew her for more than Ron's little sister.
However, in book 3, we see the 1st signs of Harry's crush. Harry noticed she was very pretty and she made his stomach "feel funny". later she wished him good luck before Gryffindor played Slytherin, making him blush

Just search on wikipedia Ginny's biography and you'll see somewhere an interview from JKR saying that some things were planned like that Ginny would beat Cho on Quidditch and stuff like that! Yeah, and I'm not saying that Cho is the best pairing for Harry, I'm questioning whether Ginny is really the best person 4 Harry. In the books, we see little of her until the sixth book, in which Harry is apparantly in love with her. Basically, she does come over as a bit of a "scarlet woman" (in Molly Weasley's words). If they were intended for each other, then we should've at least seen a bit more of her in the fifth book, to show her as a potential rival 2 Cho, establishing her role later on

Go Ginny. In GOF and OOTF Harry liked Cho. and in HBP Harry had a longing for Ginny like a need he nedded to fulfill it is so sweet and HBP after things ended with Cho he didn't seem to care, but in DH after he ended things with Ginny he couldn't stop thinkig about her. BTW I love the part in book 6 how Ginny is the only one that can gat harry away from Dumbledores body, and in book 7 when he is about to die (supposevly) he thinks of Ginny. It is just beautiful

cho is really pretty in the film, and so sweet, which is why i feel so guilty about wishing she would just jump off the astronomy tower, Cho/Cedric and HARRY/GINNY. definately HARRY/GINNY!

i ty agree, but cho is too emotional in harry potter 5, so ginny makes a much better girlfriend
