  • I believe that many of the people are simply trying to be nice (heaven forbid). Truth is that ignorance is common (and observes no borders) - editing can make anyone look foolish.

  • "ya i thinks thats disgraceful that people are that unaware of the world they live in." Ya your one to talk. smart one.

  • It's awesome. The most clever person was the 7 Y.O

  • Aw, Rick, it's just too easy... like shooting fish in a barrel....

  • This is hilarious. Americans are so ignorant!

  • I'd call it the "fooney"

  • Stupid Americans. *looks around*...... shiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiit.

  • What did the woman at 2.33-2.37 say? Sounded like 'congratulations Canada for finishing the child for China' (didn't make sense to me)

  • @DrArtist08 It was either 'channel' or 'tunnel' to China.

  • @DrArtist08 The tunnel to China, I believe

  • what kind of potato was this filmed with?

  • Americans are living in a bubble. There own government and media keeps them stupid. This way you can manipulate and sway them easier. By constantly telling them how great America is they lose touch with the rest of the world and become out of touch with everyone else..living in a true bubble.

  • @gtman5 Think so? Or maybe Canada just isn't that important to Americans. All I know is Canadians have a hard time grasping why they know so much about America but Americans don't know a thing about Canada. I mean the charge of stupidity is made but again I wonder if Canadians have ever asked "are we actually important enough to know anything about?".

  • @zippy476 Canada isn't important to Americans neither is any other country. That is because America is the most important. That is the way you're taught. Remember the bubble I mentioned earlier. You live in it. You can't see outside it. Not anyone's fault. Just the way things are.

  • @gtman5 Perhaps. But then again I know plenty both historical and present about the Mexico, Brazil, UK, Australia, Japan, Russia, France, India, Iraq, Iran, Israel, Palestine, North Korea, South Korea, Germany. I honestly don't very Canada as another country. I think of them as America Jr., the 51st state, Americas slow goofy little brother etc....I honestly couldn't care less about Canada its just not important.

  • @zippy476 See how little you know about Canada. The goofy little brother is America.

Who has spent more than they can afford. Just like a little kid that has been given money.

I call them little is because we are the bigger country not in population but land mass. We don't spend money on arms because you guys have that covered and we know you won't let anyone touch us. (:

  • @gtman5 LOL america borrowing money from china to establish new dictators

  • stupid fucking americans dont know shit for fuck.

  • Lol I love this XD

and Rick doesn't usually set things up so this is real.

  • 5:14 ... i love this kid...

  • ... this makes me sad to be American lol and a bit sick to my stomach.

  • 131 people haven't had their first woody yet.

  • Americans: "We're Americans and we're proud of it."

Canadians: "We're proud because we're not Americans."

What is the problem with this?

  • What brand of microwave was this filmed with?

  • Dumb Cunts... And they are the first to make fun of us Canadians...

  • Lol, "Mike Huckabee". Sounds very redneckish :P

  • Congratulations on getting your first woody... LOL

  • It's funny how Americans have total ignorance over the situations in other countries, and on everything else.

  • @LScenez The government is actually implementing a "Canada Day", set to take place on the 15th of November starting in 2013, meant to teach about Canadian culture. Im actually looking forward to it because places like McDonalds will be serving poutine at a reasonable price. At least they're making an effort.

  • Truly wonderful the mind of a child is.

  • Great... I want a Poutine now

  • Prime Minister Jean Poutine .. lol

  • the kid was smarter than all of them lol good for him!!!!

  • 1080p, 360p, 240p, minecraft, this clip.

  • Funny how it was americans who brought the world you tube..... guess we're not all are we

  • Dumb americans. Serves them right.

  • this is why Americans have the reputations they have.

LOL AT ALL THE POLITICAL FIGURES THAT BELIEVED THAT SHIT.

  • @contemplatinglife1 most of them knew it was false.

  • @deathlordoo Most of them knew it was false??? No they didn't. Plus Jay Leno use to do the samething on his show. Showing how stupid Americans are.

  • this is obviously why Americans have the reputations they have.

LOL AT THE POLITICAL FIGURES THAT BELIEVED THE SHIT.

  • Shows you how unimportant Canada is and how powerful we are this video should give you a hint that we don't care about you Canadians

  • @TheRedbull101 pssht don't be ridiculous... you guys are desperate for our oil. We just convinced your republican congress... which is extremely nuts and has a 9% approval rating btw... to build the Keystone Oil pipeline to Texas from Alberta. so it seems you guys need us so that your entire economy doesn't go to a standstill...

  • @TheRedbull101 Your just bitchy cuz its true. Stop crying and laugh at the video.

  • @TheRedbull101 no hint needed, this just reaffirmed that fact - americans are the most ignorant and uncaring nation in the world and by saying that "we don't care" you just proved me right....

  • Stop picking on America that's like when the roman emperor made fun of his bodyguards..... They killed him

  • @kylemaz92 americans love to make fun of people who aren't americans but cannot take their own medicine...

  • They're not Stupid they're just Gulible as Fuck.

  • 5:13... there's still hope :)

  • congrats to Canada on their first woody!

  • Lol. Love the kid that goes "HOLD ON A SECOND... Canada has provinces!!!!"

  • @A6nOliSykes4evr -- The sole smart American in this video...unless the whole thing was scripted/staged. As an American, I would be more than a little embarrassed if this is "real" and not "staged".

PS: That kid, and the very last bit were...brilliant!

  • @sierra087 I'm going to say its not staged but they only put the stupid one in. The amount of stupids ones is still ridiculous.

  • SO HAPPY TO BE CANADIAN!!!

  • @Twiztidguy- Don't leave us hanging! "Your original ignorant n****r' what? I assume you meant something of @liqudfireKAN 's, since you used "your" instead of "you're". Also, a comma is "a punctuation mark (,)used to indicate the separation of elements within the grammatical structure of a sentence", and if you had used a comma some of your sentences would have made more sense. Additionally, "alot" is not a word, but "a lot" is. Finally, "Canadians" should be capitalized just like "Americans" is.

  • @CMReidFanatic - No canada should not be capitalized. That is like capitalizing, "the dog *Shit" Also nobody gives a fuck, kill yourself. Nobody will notice nor care...

  • I'm a conservative Republican, currently enrolled in the University of Maryland, pursuing an Engineering degree, and I know for a fact that I crush all stereotypes about the American.

  • @roodawgy1 props to you my friend I'm pursuing a Programming Degree at Devry University and I also know for a fact that I crush all stereotypes about Americans

  • @oppopo12 meaning that you know that canada uses the euro as its currency?

  • @roodawgy1 meaning that you know that the capital of canada is vancouver?

  • holy this is unbelievable

  • lmfao canadians for the win

  • @Twiztidguy - Try rereading all my comments and show me where I say all Americans are idiots. Nowhere. I'm just saying that you are an ignorant, arrogant hypocrite. Also you have proved nothing because I'm not Canadian either. So please shut the fuck up. Even if I was how could you say I proved your point that a lot (not alot like you misspelled) of Canadians are stupid. There are over 30million people in Canada and just because I said something, " a lot are stupid"? You have clearly lost. Grats

  • Something tells me that a good portion of these people are just playing along.

  • this is not fake. I live in long island in the Summer and I asked the same questions to people in NYC. Its amazing what you can come up with. haha

  • This is so fake.

  • @whythewar1

No, its not fake.... Just a nice showing of ignorant americans

  • @whythewar1 this is not fake. i am half canadian/half american by citizenship. i;ve lived for long periods of time in both nations and this video underlines the fact that americans = so bloody clueless, not only about canada but the rest of the world.

  • @heterodoxphilimath Yes, but I live here, and I never thought this, nor would I believe this, nor have I met a single person who would ever believe this, or would gladly be insulted for something that they wouldn´t do. You must have lived in some pretty obscure areas when you lived here. I hate how the world bases their stereotypes on one area of America, where only a small percent of our population live.

instead of branding us about being open minded, open yours a little.

  • I'm an American who can admit this is hilarious xD

  • that kid is the best! he knows we have provinces GO MANITOBA EH!

  • Lol.

  • what's a canada?

  • All the Americans trying to make fun of us because we didn't know their first president. I bet none of them can name our first prime minister. So stupid it's funny. Americans are so patriotic towards their own country that they've isolated themselves from the rest of the world.

  • @Thebballboi2009 yeah I agree that it's pointless and stupid to argue over this. People need to understand that this is just comedy, and in someways is very true. As an American, I am often disappointed by people's lack of knowledge on subjects like geography and politics. I did not look it up but I believe the first Canadian Prime Minister was John A. McDonald sp?

  • @joemarch17 no, it's Johnnay MacDonalds

  • @playadominical Yeah I looked it up, It was MacDonald and not McDonald, it still knew the answer though. That has to count for something.

  • @joemarch17 Good for you! If it wouldn't be too much trouble would you mind gargling on my man juice?

  • @Thebballboi2009 Just because he clipped certain people from the vid doesnt mean everyone in America is ignorant. Personally i could give a fuck about your first prime minister. I dont see or have heard of any videos making fun of Canadians. We dont give a fuck about you... so what if we are patriotic... If you were born in America you would love your Country.

  • @Twiztidguy There are tons of videos of people making fun of Canada so please shut the fuck up. If you are too retarded to youtube it you are definetly American. It's just a joke calm the fuck down. Even if everyone from America isn't ignorant, you sure are. BTW your country has made pizza a vegetable. Just saying.

  • @liquidfireKAN - I was sent here from a heavy argumentative post claiming this video is proof americans are dumb asses. I'm just making my point that (im sure not all) but most canadians from what i've seen are arrogant pieces of shit who spend their free time hating on America. Not all of it is a joke, some canadians are serious. Which leads me to believe, jealousy. And my last post was to that cocky fuck stick... So get off my ass trashy emo queef cookie.

  • @Twiztidguy I started off thing, oh wow I read this guy wrong, I should apologize for not knowing what was going on. The you said "get of my ass trashy emo queef cookie" then I though, lol wow what a retard, you are an idiot. Stupid American. BTW I lived in america for 10 years and still make fun of americans so stfu. Learn to laugh and whoever was pissing you off saying this was "proof" if you are Canadian stfu, I have tons of American friends who are brilliant. Fucktards

  • @liquidfireKAN - so you were claiming you were wrong until i said, " get off my ass trashy emo queef cookie". So that makes you not wrong because i insulted you? You lost me, maybe our stupid american culture hasnt stooped down to your IQ level yet. Check back again when you reach an IQ of 90.

  • @Twiztidguy coolstorybro, at what chapter do you shut the fuck up?

  • @liquidfireKAN - why dont you throw in a "you mad bro"... or Coza asy... or you could go planking... because nothing was original about what you said. Oh the part where i shut up as at chapter 12 where a little boy named liquidfirekan quits being a ignorant nigger and his balls drop. Chapter 13 is where i click the big x button at the top right of my browser and go play teamfortress 2 while meanwhile you go fuck yourself.

  • @Twiztidguy - Why do you assume that I am a "little boy", lol you are living proof of stupid Americans, are you sure you aren't in this video?

  • @liquidfireKAN - You never denied the fact that your an unoriginal ignorant nigger. Your comments are fail... and you just made my point fucking alot of canadians are arrogant cocky little shit stains on Americas ass. Read all of the comments below. Just because you watch a video that clips out idiots in America doesn't mean all Americans are idiots. I may be stupid in your eyes but in mine you're gullible as fuck and very uneducated.

  • @Twiztidguy jealous of what? a failing economy, the highest obesity, teen pregnancy, infant death, and incarceration rates in the developed world? that they are one of the three last countries to not use the metric system? that they know nothing about anything outside the boundaries of their nation? what's to be jealous of?

  • @heterodoxphilimath - Opportunity... The only country where you can start out with nothing, not even a car.... and you can be whatever you want to be with hard work. Why dont you ask some of the people in the medical field in Canada why they would rather live in America. The medical field pays more in the US than Canada does. Ask alot of famous people why they moved to America. Opportunity, even with our shit economy we can succeed. And who the fuck cares about metric?

  • @Twiztidguy DUDE AMERICANS ARE SUCH PATRIOTS BRO

  • @Twiztidguy ever heard of South Park?

  • legalizing VCR's XD

    I hope Americans watch this

  • 4:28 This girl is Anne Frank hawt!

  • I'm sorry but ALL you americans are so ignorant and stupid.

  • MOUTH DROPPED!!! Kid's got smarts, but they cut that clip too short... i wanted to see his mom& Mercer's reaction.

  • Sigh:(

  • @basketbfullofspite I would say 99% of Canadians don't support seal clubbing, so don't assume that we're all heartless animal abusers. I do agree that lots of Canadians (namely generation-I'm 15) think that they are much smarter than Americans, which is not true. Two years ago, I asked one of my Canadian friends what the capital of Canada was, he said that he didn't know. It's Ottawa. Him and I both live in Ottawa. It shocked and appalled me that he didn't know this.

  • That kid is so obviously scripted, come on people. I'm Canadian and I realize that a lot of us are just as ignorant towards other countries (not the U.S. but other continents) as America.

  • I have to believe that at least some of those were set up I mean seriously...your serious aren't you O_O

  • Thumbs up if your canadian and proud of it

  • Kid : 1

    Every other American: 0

  • Congratulations Canada for completing the tunnel to China! Holy crap a rolled over laughing at that one! How stupid are the Americans anyways?

  • Nice!

  • Prime Minister Jean Poutine, lol.

  • If I had a penny for every pixel I would have $1

  • I'm less concerned how stupid most Americans are, and more concerned at how gullible. Do you notice how these people just believe anything they are told by a complete stranger just because they don't know one way or the other? This is how America is controlled through the media. So sad.

  • LOL.

  • These retards disgust me to be an American.... There is a kid in my english class that thought Brazil was "a country in africa" .......... about 60% of my peers, in Texas, are stupid beyond belief.

  • @xmw2pkerx Then you should probably move.

  • They CLEARLY told that kid what to say.

  • I'm pretty sure you could do an American version of this. Like, telling Canadians McDonald's is introducing some nasty hamburger or some shit like that. I'm sure some Canadians would believe that.

  • @JoseDCampa NBC (Today Show with Matt) reported on this programme and tried the same thing in Nova Scotia. The reporter was met with a "Hey, you're doing the Rick Mercer thing, aren't you?" So no, don't think it would work.

  • @1867TrueNorth The point is that I'm sure Canadians have pre-conceived notions about America. I'm sure you could get away with telling Canadians ridiculous things about America and they'd believe it.

  • @JoseDCampa No I'm pretty sure that is impossible.

  • @gailgrove It's not impossible. Don't be silly. You're silly. Hehe.

  • @JoseDCampa nah - we're constantly bombarded with american culture - movies, stores, news, etc. as canadians, it's inescapable to not know a lot about the states...

  • It's funny, I do not think you could find one single citizen of any nation living out of canada that actually gives a fuck about canada.

  • @ForkLift12090 I give a fuck about Canada. Meany :(

  • @ForkLift12090 Yeah except the countries that rely on Canada's natural resources to survive. If a country needs another country to invade them and shot their citizens, then they go to the U.S.A

  • @ironmaidenforlife123 ok maybe I should have said the USA. I just don't like the point that this guy is trying to make. The US does not give a shit about canada.

  • @ForkLift12090 Yeah sure, the USA doesn't give a shit about their biggest trading partner, their biggest ally in battle, and the one of the few countries who will stand behind the USA in the situation of a war.

  • @ForkLift12090 haha its all good man, canadians are busy making money right now so we dont give a shit about poor americans

  • @ForkLift12090

    except ur mom

  • @ForkLift12090 errr not exactly. Europeans love us. if you go almost anywhere in Western Europe, particularly The Netherlands or Belgium, they always buy Canadians a beer. The royal family actually fled to Canada during World War II and Princess Margriet was born in Ottawa. When you travel people are relieved when they hear that you are a Canadian and not an American. They buy us drinks and spit in yours :)

  • @ForkLift12090 I don't really know about that maybe Americans don't care about Canadians but i've been around Europe and they absolutely HATE Americans, i also know people from Australia and they hate Americans as well. So really you can say nobody cares about Canadians but many other countries hate Americans.

  • I don't think they are stupid, Mercer is just very convincing

  • Canada, it's not that Americans are dumb, it's more of no one gives a shit about Canada. I mean come on, it's Canada.

  • @TrollinBunchie Or maybe its because americans are stupid. I mean come on they're americans.

  • @TrollinBunchie lame excuse - americans are clueless

  • I'm American and I can genuinely say that I laughed quite hard.

My god, there are so many retards in our country...

  • Haha

  • "hang on!, Canada has provinces" .. good onya kid, there's hope yet.

  • The kid is a genius!

  • That kid deserves a metal!

The rest? Je ne sais pas.

  • @NitsuaGamer

    Medal*

  • @NitsuaGamer Die frenchie :)

  • 5:14 - that kid knows where it's at.

  • I saw him live!! Hilarious guy.

  • Comment removed

  • 4:40 is the funniestttt, i was laughing for 2 minutes. This just shows how unaware americans are about the rest of the world

  • LMao

  • I am Canadian. And being so I have a spine and a sense of humor. I know that we can be just as, if not more, stupid then a lot of the Americans, and I love the youtube movie entitled "Stupid Canadians," it's clever and thought provoking. Americans should just watch this and laugh and be thankful that they are not as stupid as the ppl in these videos when it comes to knowing anything about Canadians. The video isn't saying all American's are dumb, just clueless sometimes.

  • Canada is obsessed with the USA in a way that borderlines a clinical disorder. If you went to any province in Canada and asked 100 Canadians, "what do you love about Canada?", they'd begin with some variation of "Well, unlike the USA...". They're so wrought with this childish and petty need to be superior to the USA that they'll believe anything negative about them no matter how ridiculous it is. The pathetic reality is, they've no identity of their own beyond "not being American".

  • @ukpolemic i love how you bash Canadians for being petty and childish about hating or being better then the U.S.A. For if your to do so you will also need to bash Europeans and Australians for they to hate and have the tendency to feel superior to the U.S.A, which in its self is pretty stupid as America was created by cause of Europe and Canada or British North America as it was at the time because the Americans wanted to be independent from Britain otherwise U.S.A would never of been created.

  • @ukpolemic You berate someone for forming an opinion based on an experience, yet make sweeping statements about what you believe 100 Canadians might say. I guess in your world , imaginary responses and speculation pass for real facts - you obviously dislike Canadians, calling us childish and petty, all based on your game of pretend.Don't you think it's time to put on your big boy pants and grow up, kid?

  • @ukpolemic Interesting idea. Americans seem to have this idea everyone is obsessed with them. I wonder what that says. Being an American who has spent some time in Canada, I can say that Canada has a rich culture of their own, an identity beyond not being American. Of coarse most Americans wouldn't know the first thing about that, we don't know the first thing about our own history and culture. Many Americans think Abraham Lincoln was the first president of the United States.

  • @candyraver69 its funny you say that, because i'm canadian, and im pretty sure most of us know that george washington was the first president. just common knowledge is greatly overlooked, in canada or america.

  • @candyraver69 Lol Canada has billboards insulting America. Obsessed is the correct word. It's actually pretty gross to watch our northern neighbor act so mean spirited towards. We are a beautiful country with good and kind people.

btw I'd love to see your source on your statement that "many americans think Lincoln was our first president" I've never met anyone who thought that. I have a feeling you pulled it right out of your ass.

    have a great day :)

  • @basketfullofspite Unfortuneatly, that is true. It is so stereoptyped and in fact i have rarely talked to a stereotypacle american. I still have, though.

  • @MrTubeyTuber Unfortunately*, stereotypical*

  • @basketfullofspite On multiple choice tests Lincoln is a choice and people actually miss that picking Lincoln. I was in shock when I saw it, believe me. It's not that I have a "source" per say as much as I witnessed it both in high school and college. Many people n this country have their priorities confused, and what they feel is important to know is what movie star is pregnant this week.

  • @basketfullofspite as a Canadian living in our largest city and drives almost everywhere... what billboards are you speaking of? pull that one out of your ass?

  • @pintobeans94 I've seen them with my beaty american eyes.

  • @ukpolemic

the last thing on any canadians mind would be usa

  • @bamboozle630 Please mate, I spent nearly 2 years in Canada after 4 in the states and literally everyone I met said "Bet you're glad to be up here now!" as if I'd arrived from Somalia. Everyone takes a swipe at the yanks now and again but it's Canada's elevated it to a religion. I never really noticed Anti-Americanism before I went there because it's so much more present. The UK, France, & Spain combined have nothing on Canada when it comes to taking the piss out of Americans.

  • @bamboozle630 that's a load. Canadians everywhere stop mid baby seal stomping to throw an insult at us. Canada suffers from little man syndrome. I find Canada to be a beautiful place.. if it weren't for the self righteous tone of it's people and the disease of fundamental liberalism you've let grow like a fungus in your country it would be a perfect place. There are some friendly sane canadians..God bless them.

  • @basketfullofspite

It's the few that ruin it for many up here.. Much like I imagine it is in America.

  • seriously?

  • This is hilarious!

  • Although there is no excuse for ignorance, it is not fair to say Canadians know more about America than Americans know about Canada. If you follow Canadian news, tv channels, ect... in Canada there is a constant influx of American news and programming. Canadians are constantly exposed to American news ect. Americans are not surrounded with Canadian news. An American would by lucky if Canada appeared in a news story once a week.

  • @sclub74you Regardless of whether or not it's fair, Canadians do know more about America than Americans know about Canada. You've basically said it yourself.

  • Juz priceless!!!

  • lol that kid is smarter than his mum "canada has provinces" hahah

  • there are stupid people in ever country. If you think videos like these are good representation of the intelligence of a whole nation then you are a xenophobe. For those of you who don't know what a xenophobe is, it is a racist, but instead of being prejudice against a group of people because of their race, you are prejudice because of their country of origin.

So in other words, if you think that a whole country of people is dumb based on a video like this, then you are no better than a racist

  • He should have asked me, I would have answered every question right.

Also, I bet you can do this sort of thing in any country. Just show the dumb people, and don't show the smart people. Remember their are smart people in America too. After all, which country brought you youtube?

  • "hang on, Canada has provinces" LOL

  • I see alot of proof, everyday, also. Americans saying stuff like "F*** all these other countries who we offended, America and me us better than all you! F****** Canada" or " Do canadians have internet"? I have screen shots of those 2. Maybe the adults were raised more patriotic, that only Americans matter and not to bother with anyone else, and I hope that all the children are like that little boy, getting an education. We learn all the american states, capitals, and laws here, dont know why a

  • @GoingBackToTheRoots7 Europeans know fuck-all about Canada either. It's a boring country. Nothing happens there and nobody cares about it, except maybe the French, and then only the Quebecois. Most will utter words of praise for it being an example of "peace and tranquility" on the continent, but most couldn't name more than two major cities if you asked them, if even that.

  • I'm Canadian, And I'm going to go with thr benefit of the doubt and say that he interviewed alot of americans, and alot knew the truth. I would also have to point out, though, how on every american tv show, if a canadian province in mentioned, it's followed by Canada. (ei. Ontario, Canada). Which has been explained to me that the majority of Americans cant recognize a canadian province when they hear the name..

  • @GoingBackToTheRoots7 It was obviously produced for effect. With some pretty rudimentary editing you can make anyone look stupid.

  • @ukpolemic "rudimentary editing"???? 3 weeks ago, I was walking along the BEACH in Vancouver BC, looking out over the OCEAN. It was a nice view, so I stood about three feet from where the water came up, took out my cell phone and took a picture. A gentleman came along, and after a couple minutes,he mentioned he was a tourist from Oregon. He then asked me if we were standing above or below "sea level". Being a polite Canadian, all I said was "above", and left. You don't need to edit anything.

  • @MrDstrbd So one guy from Oregon constitutes "All" or even a "majority"? I met a Canadian man in Kitchener, Ontario who could only name 8/10 provinces. Another Canadian man in Toronto took the time to remind me of the time when "We kicked your asses in 1812" and looked rather nonplussed when I told him I was from Wales (and I have a very prominent accent). He said he didn't realize I was English (calling a Welshman English in some parts would earn you a broken nose). Stupidity is ubiquitous.

  • @MrDstrbd But that's Oregon... No one from Oregon needs rudimentary editing, because it's Oregon.

  • @MrDstrbd That sounds like something an American might ask. You have to wonder why he would want to know, what he must think "sea level" means? Too funny.
