This is my absolute favorite song. I've heard other rock versions of this and find this version to be a bit too much for my taste. The combination of vocals and all the instruments just takes away from the story of the song and the meaning of it. I do like the vocals though. I don't know who is in this band, but I do like their overall sound. I'm going to look them up on itunes, because I think I could like the rest of the music.

@MrAMongoose the first part i wont disagree with but the thing about new music isnt so much true. i happen to have a BC Rich and a decent amount of hair but im heavily influenced by Randy Rhoads, Dave Mustaine, Vivian Campbell, and Adrian Smith, and newer bands may have their own style but are also influenced by Iron Maiden, Metallica, Dio, Ozzy, Etc as well, so not really assholes and rather talented. but yea pain is kind of weird. its whatever though.

Besides, multitracking isn't an issue, really, more of an artistic choice. Freddie Mercury used it extensively, and Hans Kursch does too, yet they aren't bad singers at all.

If you are referring to "auto-tuning" then surely you know that signs of pitch correction are much more prevelant than any possible editing in this vocal track. I do, however, admit that they may have put a filter on the vocal track, but I assure you he is singing. No pitch correcting can make the transitions from pitch to pitch sound that natural.
