I bought me a snow 600 w/ 1gb, 120gb hdd, and os x Tiger (set up with an OS 9.2.2 dual-boot config!!) sometime last year and it has been serving as a retro-gaming machine. NES, SNES games.... old Mac OS 7.x-9.x games (marathon trilogy, wolfenstien 3d, prince of persia 1&2, etc). It even handles adobe cs2 rather nicely, considering its age. Its a little sluggish with a wacom bamboo tablet, but it's still cool. And it still runs whisper quiet!! B)

@Kerosenelight Thats because flash sucks. If you use a youtube-downloading type program to watch stuff, It works perfectly. I run firefox with flash truned off and it's perfect.

The monitor shrunk to about the center of the screen, so i took Mr.Hammer and Mrs.Axe to it.. :-D

awesome little machines. i have a slightly earlier model (g3 bondi-blue i think its ~300MHz) it runs panther well but struggles with youtube (flash hammers the processor). not bad £30 off ebay inc. shipping!

Lightfoot221: My iMac G3 700 mhz 1 gig of ram runs iphoto 5, imovie HD, iTunes 09, and iDVD, but will not run garage band or anything newer. Try iLife 04 and upgrade to imove HD(06).

Well the processor is already capable to run it. All you have to do is upgrade the ram to at least 256 and install 10.4.

No, you don't. Stop talking bullshit. Tiger requires 333MHz, 256MB ram, and firewire. You have non of those. The most you can run is 10.3.9.

I found an iMac Snow like this last year at a thrift store for $18 and bought it! I wouldn't even walk away from it for a second to find a power plug to try it, I saw it, grabbed it and ran lol. Lucky for me, the thing is in like new condition, not a scratch on it, works flawlessly. It had 500 Mhz, 640 MB RAM, 30 GB hard drive, DVD Rom drive, Mac OS 9.1. All i've upgraded so far is the OS, it now has Mac OS X 10.3 Panther. I wanna upgrade the RAM to 1GB. There's great finds out there!
