Really snappers and soft shells I have not seen that combo usually soft shells should be keep seperate as well...Well lucky you caught them in time weird they were getting along well just like my uncles and then he had to seperate them
u gonna get another tank? looks cramped now since they each now got like 25 to 30 gallons of water =^[ (also speek up l0l needed high volume then the music was way loud! l0l) so yeah new tank or wat? and i guess maybe the time came to get aggresive but hey atleast u caught them in time =^]
Nice Albino oscars and other fish! Sorry that they started to fight and you had to seperate them! That would eventually happen anyways my uncle had to seperate his alligator snappers when they grew as well
I've seen other people put like soft shells in with snappers and they've been ok but I dunno I guess they're territorial or somethin, they're sometimes really vicious
the oscars were like 6.99 each and the blue channel catfish I got 30 percent off of 5.99 because the store was moving the fish section and they had like no fish to speak of except the 2 cat fish and some little fish.
my RES has 2 goldfish in his tank and he has yet to eat them... but you've seen his feeding video, maybe yours is more accurate
ok thanks im thinking of getting oscars when i upgrade but the only thing im scared of is, i know this sounds stupid but since there still small especially the diamondback terrapin, the oscar might swallow it and choke and the turtle will die tooo? can this happen?... thanks
wow yeaaah, my turtles are night hunters there pretty smart, since the fish go to sleep and i stayed up until 2am yesterday and they were still swimming lol
I mean there is always going to be that chance of a turtle eating a fish. It's the natural order of things, the food chain as you will. What I recommend is buy a fish that is at least the size of the turtle's shell if not a little bigger, the turtle won't be so obligated to consider it food because it's big and you feed him pellets and w/e else you give them.
so yeah, and if you see a half eaten (or missing) fish, they're only like 7.99 or so, go get another one, that is my philosophy
If you're worried about a fish eating a turtle then make sure that the fish is small enough to fear the turtle as a predator. The oscars I have in my video are only like 2 1/2 to 3 inches long and I don't think they would try to eat anything other than a albino african clawed frog (which they ate mine)
