  • i love how bernadette came after the nuns with a candlestick holder!!!!! then chased them back in the room a second time!!

  • These fucking nuns shall burn in hell!!

  • Vengeance is MINE, saith the Lord. Nothing goes unnoticed by God. You reap what you sow. The Catholic church shall have to answer to God one day...............as will we all.

I'm so glad they both took that leap of faith and escaped. I thank God for their courage.

  • Bernadette was tough because she was a kid from an orphanage and they were always supposed to be the tough kids because they're used to fighting each other for whatever scraps they get.

  • 11:43 god i laughed so much...

  • 03:15 when i saw the picture of Kennedy i thought that the nun had a very very serious secret regarding Kennedy that was ready to be lost and she was searching for the key to secure it...And then all made sense...Kennedy with the limo...And from a consealed side ITs sister Bridget "O' hara" with a semi automatic rifle with a 8x scope closing her eye "Ashes to ashes, dust to dust mr president.." I guess she trully like western films after all...

  • that girl (to use an ironic phrase) has the patience of a saint. i would have laid the demons throat open from ear to ear and bathed in the blood.

  • I love how everyone is suddenly confessing their love for Bernadette. -___-

  • they shoulda got the money and the key before they left

  • @RAiNBOwNeRd12 I agree with you. Rose didn't have to reveal the silver key to that evil cunt who wouldn't let go of Bernadette's wrist. She should have held on to it. But I know why she did it anyway just so Bernadette would break free. Rose's character is hardly a fighter except Bernadette.

  • Creepy-azz nun. GO TO HELL. Maaaan. People those days tsk tsk.

  • Why didn't they take their shoes off??

  • @CelticKisses I was thinking the same thing.

  • Lesson to learn: if you're running away TAKE OFF THE DAMNED SHOES!!!

  • I love it when she puts the safe key on the table. It's just such a perfect way to say that they are not criminals and they're leaving doing nothing wrong. They didn't take the money. Such a good scene.

  • 2:00 that was soo doug, whata cow, even know she did what she did, she wasn't that bad

  • HELL YES. THE GIRLS ESCAPIN AND I WAS YELLING HELL YES GO BERNADETTE!!!!!

  • wtf. them nuns are nothing but old ladies! FOR SWEET BISCUITS SAKE I WOULD HAVE POUNDED THE SHIT OUT OF THEM, THE fuckin HEIFERS

  • RUN!!! FLY AND BE FREE!!! GO GO GO!!!!

  • Those sinners asked for it so they did. Restore the Holy Catholic State of Eire.

God bless our Holy Father Pope Benedict XVI

  • @VATICANVEVO and when and if they do they should get you in one o fthese places

  • @VATICANVEVO Typing such superstitious gibberish just makes you appear weak, ignorant, brainwashed and frightened.

  • Bernadette should take that pillow and suffocate that nun -- snuff her out -- and nobody would know. --

  • The truth is, NONE of them belonged there. Why should women be subject to a lifetime of slavery for having a sense of sexuality that's natural to all women, and indeed to all people? If God made us as we are with a purpose and chose to give us sensual natures, did he really create us just to be put in cages and have the souls beaten out of us?

  • They could have climbed over the gate

  • lol, GOO BERNADETTE!!

  • i wanted them to kill freaking Sister Bridget... ughhhh i hated her

  • the pretty one is one evil bitch. is the only one that deserves to be there

  • @samuelsixvids

By " the pretty one", you must be referring to Bernadatte. To the contrary, Bernadatte is the only one who didn't belong there in the first place. She was merely put there because she was pretty and attracted attention from the guys. Ironically, the nunnery turned her into a cool, bitter, vindictive person, which was great because the leadership of the nunnery were far more evil and were hypocrites. Bernadette is a hero.

  • @zedwid3000 Margaret didn't belong there either. She was RAPED.

  • @CharlestonChica ,

I knew I was forgetting about someone else who actually didn't deserve to be there LOL. Yes, as a rape victim, Margaret didn't deserve to be there either. I actually liked her more than Bernadette. She was the most pure of heart and had the most integrity despite being victimized. I also liked Rose, who even though she had a baby out of wedlock, she truly repented and actually loved her baby more than anyone else. Crispinia's case is sad. I wanted to kill her abusers.

  • something interesting i noticed.. other than a few quoted passages from the bible, or a curse or two.. did anyone in this movie (specifically the authority) ever utter the word "Jesus"? I might be wrong.. but this movie made me forget all about that dude. Bad catholics...

  • @groovylocks They mentioned Jesus several times lol

  • My mother grew up near one of these places, and she knew a girl who was sent there at 14 because she got pregnant. When they let her out years later my mum met her again by chance while visiting home, and she said it was as if she'd died, she was empty. She said she'd been very pretty and very spirited, but she was broken afterwards. Its unbelievable how recently this was happening, and almost unforgivable.

  • what a spiteful thing to say

  • Bernadette is my favorite character of the whole movie! She's one of the few who resists the brainwashing! And I was so pissed when she didn't kill that bitch of a nun! But I was cheering for her the whole time!

  • @ThorneAstor that wouldn't have been realistic. She wasn't out to kill her. She was out to escape. And she did that efficiently i thought.

It's like killing ants one by one and hoping to wipe out the colony. Don't waste the effort killing those single ants because it simply won't work that way.

  • @ThorneAstor i also LOVE nora jane noon (the girl who plays bernadette). She's one of my favourite actors.

  • Marguerite21 I agree with you I'd watch with pleasure 

  • I sure like Bernadette. She turns out to be a fighter as well as a hero. I just wish the director should have made her character extremely violent towards that evil fucking nun leader. Specifically, I think the director should have had Bernadette beat that nun to death. Thumbs up if you agree with me.

  • @Marguerite21 I've watched this film before quite a few times, and my mother saw it once and my mother said that Bernadette's character is a fighter because she grew up in an orphanage/school where she had no relatives, and in those places especially back in the day you had to fight to survive. To survive the other kids, especially the older kids, or anything else worse. Even the musical 'Annie' reflects that also. So Bernadette grew up a scrapper, she 'grew up tough' as my mother put it.

  • @jrmetmoi Well yeah that's true about children in an orphanage that learn how to survive by fighting. However though there are some orphans who barely fight and those kind are pasaphists. Those who are pasaphists and when being treated badly, it does make me sad that they don't want to fight. Especially when they're not being protected. But that's just how pasaphists are and I in a way kind of feel like a pasaphist myself.

  • @Marguerite21 then she would have been put in a prison as a Murderess.

Anyway she was very lucky because some girls were put back in there after the escape even if they have found some job.How about that?!

  • @elisa9994 That just goes to show how powerful and evil the Church is to do what they're allowed to do. No shit very facist! I just can't understand why the abused who did escape didn't go to the authorities unless the Church controlled the Irish government. As for Bernadette if she chose to kill that evil bitch, it's possible that she would have gotten away with so called murder. Especially back in those days.

  • @Marguerite21 I also wonderd why the abused didn't talk, but i know that even today it's very difficult to denounce an abuse, you must have evidences, witnesses, and so on.The sad part is that today, with all the scandals Church passed,if the abuse is somehow related to Church it's easier to be believed, but if it focuses on another institution it's even more difficult(but not useless)

But for ex. in this movie,Margaret tried to help and avenge Crispina somehow, but she involuntarily made things worse

  • @Marguerite21 (2 Part of the answer)But Margaret was in there so what she did, even if it didn't help Crispina,it was really very Brave. But it's very difficult to change things(i wrote in part 10 that those institutions closed not because they became infamous, merely because families bought home Washing machines and there was no business anymore).

Anyway i hope that today it's not easy to get away with murder,it's Never a good solution, even if sometimes, like in this situation,it's understandable.

  • @elisa9994 I understand and explaining abuse cases isn't easy. Although you may have witnesses who stand up for you, there is one thing that pisses me off. I don't know if you've heard of Christine Buckley but you can type in her name on this site. In Christine Buckley's case, when she got her witnesses to stand up, and to show some evidence, they were not being believed. Victims of institutional abuse were forced to collect more evidence and records and it took decades.

  • @elisa9994 That's even more a testament to the evil of these laundries that they only closed, one by one I'm sure, just because more and more people in Ireland had washing machines in their homes or lived near laundrettes/laundromats.

  • @Marguerite21 No, because then Bernadette is just as rotten as Bridget. Bernadette left on her own terms.

  • @Marguerite21 not beat her to death, she should have bitten the twisted old cunt's face off

  • @Anygodwilldo XD that's a very good one. She could have tried to have ripped that cunt's face off. Disfigure her very, very badly just by bringing her to look like the fucking monster she is. Just like how Lisbeth Salander did to her evil father by burning him.

  • @Marguerite21 That would be awesome, but then she could be arrested for murder, so they couldn't do that. I wish she'd just get to beat her though. A good smash to the head!

  • @Marguerite21 You know, I don't wanna give you any ideas, but a lot of those nuns are still alive...

  • @Marguerite21 these are based on true events so i don't think that the director could change something.. :p but if he did i wish they take the money, kick her ass and finally leave!
