  • @Doraemonchina Uh no I am not Korean. Not one but Korean.

  • Don't you mean 2010?

  • Motortrend hates anything that's not from Detroit.

  • Motor Trends review recomendations are ALWAYS based upon who adertises the most.

    Therefore, MT's opinion means nothing.

    Sickening.

  • I rented one with the 2.4, SLOWEST THING EVER!!! It was pathetic! we need to kick these korean cars out

  • ha u had to rent it

  • Just purchased a new Santa Fe GL on the weekend. I have to wait 3 weeks for delivery, starting to get a little antsy....

  • @afrosheen6 If you didn't buy one with the V6, AWD (or diesel) and the 7 seats, it's quite a boring car.

I have the 3.5 V6 AWD 7 seat Santa Fe. And I can't imagine having the same car without those options. It rides well and handles considerably better (and sportier) than truck based SUV's. Gearbox is fine as well. It is quite quiet in almost all situations, the V6 sounds way better than that 2.7.

Though, without the good power from the V6,

  • @afrosheen6 Continues here...: But without the power from the V6 and the quite handy AWD for some sand and mud driving (it helps more because it is a heavy powerfull FWD car than every thing else), I wouldn't buy one. Interior is well buit, but it's all hard plastic. My old Jetta was way better.

Now I'm crazy to change for a brand new Cherokee, but i'm waiting for the new 8 speed gearbox to arrive here.

  • i like hyundai cars :)

  • nice car!(2.2 crdi)

  • yee!

last year we drove from toronto to florida with this car! it was during the state of emergency from new york all the way to virginia. Did not get stuck. :P

  • Well, Sometimes I feel MT guys doesnt know what they are talking about, but the 2011 Santa Fe got the TOP SAFETY PICK from IIHS. I really dont think that is something "from the old Hyundai", especially when you consider the engines availables (including the 2.2 Turbo Diesel 197HP available in Europe, Korea and Latin America). The ride and driving of this car is well recognized by the people that care the most about riding quality: Europeans. Santa Fe is a great bang for the buck!

  • I just bought a 2011 Santa Fe limited AWD today! Love it!

  • the santa fe is for people that like men.

  • The new 2011 Santa Fe V-6 is only 3 seconds slower than the New "Jeep Grand Cherokee SRT-8"........... With 200 less HP and at half the cost.

  • i have had Honda's Toyota's Acura's..and this is my first Hyundia..its a 2010 limited with the v-6 all the other cars i mentioned had some minor problems squeeks and what ever..this thing is very nice..not one problem runs like a champ..

  • nice work hyundai!

  • I know that the Hyundai Santa Fe American is very comfortable, quiet and pleasant to drive, I wonder if anyone knows if the Korean version is equally comfortable??

  • I got the all new santa fe and I just love the 197hp turbo charged engine!!!!

  • They will be redesigning this SUV for the 2013 MY. They said it will not be super curvy as most of their other cars are but will be bigger than this year with more power. Engines choices are still being finalized but will probably be the 2.0T GDI or GDI V6 engine with a base engine being the 2.4 GDI engine.

  • I don't know what these guys are thinking, we recently bought a 2010 and it's AMAZING.

  • my mom has a 2010. its a nice car

  • is it a monocouque body???

  • It's gorgeous.

  • عنجد سيارة للناس الهاي فل اوبشن

    كسم السيارت التانية

  • I drive a 2011 Santa Fe AWD 3.5L I don`t know how sensitive you have to be to NVH, but the 3.5L is very smooth and the idle is completely fine. I don`t know what these guys are talking about.

  • It was a waste of time waiting for it, looks like the old model, I'll stick to the Tucson.

  • Dude, Hyundai entered the Hall Of Fame in the best car makes, it ranked #2. And entered the Hall Of Fame in largest car manufacturing, it ranked #4 from Toyota, General Motors, Volkswagen. My dad told me this.

  • @Nytherr

Yeah...that's what I think is stupid. Why do we have all these foreign auto makers? Are foreign cars really better than American, or is the "Grass just Greener" if you get my drift? I think people who buy buy foreign automobiles are seriously mislead and unpatriotic. BTW American companies outsource their work to compete with China's communist slave labor costs. By buying foreign products, YOU support that, and encourage that activity from our own companies.

  • @dreez28 hyundai shoudnt be part of that bs cause most hyundai cars are built in the u.s in alabama

  • Can someone one give me a good reason the US auto market has auto companies like Hyundai and Scion in it? They certainly haven't "wowed" anyone in any category.

  • @dreez28 AFFORDABLE...

  • @dreez28 go and look at the sonata, tucson, and the genesis.

its wowed auto magazines and critics all over the world, so your obviously out of the loop. i agree this santa fe isnt the greatest hyundai but wtf are you talking about comparing it to scion? go look on the streets and you see a hyundai as much as a toyota now.

  • @chizzle0

I guess I can't say that I've seen any reviews in my Motortrend or Car & Driver magazine or videos on youtube where reviewers are wowed by Hyundai's. I will admit that reviewers are wowed by how much better the brand has gotten since it's junky, unreliable vehicles of the past. I just don't see why there is room for another automaker in the US market that doesn't do anything different or better than Chrysler, Ford, Dodge, Toyota, Honda... the list goes on forever.

  • @dreez28 actually chrysler ford dodge and gm shouldnt even be listed or concidered at all. second hyundais customer loyality is alot better then honda and toyota and their reliability is better then alot of bmws and nissans and is getting better then honda and toyota. look it up alot of bmws in 2010 were below average in reliability all hyundais and kias were average or above average

  • Why didn't they put the 2.4 GDI from the sonta? and the 2.0T for the v6 model?

  • It's a nice car, I wouldn't bash on it. But it's nothing inspiring either.

  • cmon hyundai. put the efficient 270hp 2.0T from the sonata in place of all V6s

  • This is still the ugliest small SUV.

  • @hawkermustang *its the ugliest midside SUV

  • @AlternativeUses no its not the honda and toyota suvs are this actually has style and dosent look like old ass people are driving it

  • ok lets just name a car after a city here in new mexico?

  • @1suck1it1 ya and jeep names their car after a city to (laredo) haha shitty place

  • Get an eco boosted ford flex =]

  • Santa Fe is a reasonably quiet, nice riding SUV with good build quality and is good value for money. Limited trim is nice.

  • @1bentley4ever:.....and you are a korean!

  • people test cars today like if every car you buy is to go racing! what about letting people know how reliable it is and is it safe and comfortable. My friend has a 2009 santa fe and we drove it to big bear in the winter last year, it was a very nice comfortabe ride, MPG was not bad too, i think hyundai has been making very good cars for a few years now, and seems like every new release it just gets better and better.

  • For it's class it's pretty competitive. I still think the Santa Fe looks better than the RAV4 and the CR-V. IMO the new Chev Equinox is a better overall vehicle.

  • I would have the Genesis or Sonata. This looks boring.

  • @quatlen i would not have a Hyundai, edge for sure in this class and price range

  • hyndai is stepping backwards with this one, style-wise. the Tuscon looks better...

  • @310Sole

    U MAST BEE BLECK

  • Sounds like getting the 4 is a pretty bad investment

And getting the SantaFe overall is not a Kodak moment!

  • @toyotas2006 how is that a bad investment, you buy a 4 cylinder because its cheaper and better gas mileage, you dont buy a suv to go fast..

  • @amathew711

Here's how it sucks out loud

They said the 4 is three seconds slower than the 6, and is rated at one MPG better city, two better highway.

Anything slower than 10 seconds 0-60 you are going to flog to move. Meaning unless you drive the car robotically like the EPA, if you want to keep up with traffic, the car's small advantage will be burnt in the real world.

The six is almost fast, and gets almost the same EPA, and you won't have to crack the whip to get it to move, saving u gas

  • no one cares about hiunday (or is it hyundai?,whatever i don't care) not even the people who work at hyundai, thats why they make such ugly cars, can u guy test the corvette zr1 vs aston's v12 vantage vs ferrari's california?

i'd like to see who makes the better rwd sports car, italy vs UK vs US,now u tell me who wouldn't like to see how that goes!

  • im waiting for tt-rs test!!

  • boring!

  • @badtrashtalker yeah

  • i agree 100% with their title of this video. Old hyundai was crap.

  • good all around suv

  • ugly car

  • @andreaszzz 90% of new cars are ugly i think.....

  • @stormer1092 i agree, but i would rather have car makers take risks in styling than taking a conservative route

  • @amathew711 i think the best years which I know. Not talking about the muscle car era. But since being only 18 i think the best years were the early 2000s i mean the 90s cars were nothing but boxes. lol

  • @stormer1092 you are right, every designer think that we all are going to like the new futuristic designs, when we are actually disgusted

  • @tashtan1 my 94 jeep looks better than this thing!

  • @stormer1092 May be because you are coming from the Bizarro's World, LOL!

  • @tashtan1 hyundao dosent have futuristic design like alot of other car makers are going for now they are just modern. nothing about hyundai says futuristic

  • @stormer1092 Its because todays people have seen it and done everything, its getting harder to please.

  • I will never buy a car slower to 60 than 9 seconds.

  • ugly.. same old santa fe. they only changed the engines.

  • i mean sixth

  • fifth

  • Wooh. Why post a review of a car that 'Hasn't changed much'?

  • @dbanner126 You answered your own question.

  • @dbanner126 Thats right!

This car only got a refresh on its body design, but nothing more....just some changes in the engines, plues the amazing diesel engine not available in US (but available in Europe and Latin America yeah!!).

I believe people is commenting about a car that everybody knows is dated when compared with all the new Hyundai models that everybody is paying attention to. Just wait for the new Santa Fe, we all know it is time for a new model, like the Sonata changed for good.

  • fourth

  • A new santa fe....thrillng.....

  • Pointless review?
