its great to have Danny a founding member of the band Chicago Transit Authority do a tribute to another founding member Terry Kath, I dont believe the band Chicago ever did ANYTHING for Terry, i guess it didnt make money doing that .after all the record execs are all idiots that back the band Chicago, remember Danny was kicked from the band for not being good enough....really?
@tmg1968 You'll have to check out Brass Transit too. They are made up from some of the best musicians in Toronto. They pay close attention to detail and sound very close to the original recordings. They have some here on You Tube too.
I love Jimmy Guercio's story about Terry and the sax player. Terry was one of a kind, truly salt of the earth. I miss him to this day. Thanks for this post!
yes, the PA system failed. It was at Taft High School, and the sound tech had to "make do" with what was there; needless to say, all that equipment on the stage overwhelmed them. it wasn't a matter of "saving a few bucks" - it was short-sighted planning on the part of the sound tech who assumed the high school would have adquate equipment. But, it didn't stop everyone from performing to the max.
Apparently Danny didn't have a rider with system requirements and whoever was in charge of hiring the sound company tried to save a few bucks. Unfortunately, it was at the expense of the performance and, worst of all, the audience members who each paid $10 for a seat at this event. But the professional response of Danny, James, Kenny and the musicians was to make the most of the adverse conditions and continue with the show.

How I wish Terry could still be with us singing and playing. No one can ever take Terry's place. What a beautiful spirit he was.
