  • I have a similar story only I was diagnosed with stage 4 non-hodgkins lymphoma the week of my 20th birthday same week my father lost his job, they told me I couldn't wait as it had spread to my bones they wanted to start chemo on my birthday and got mad when I refused. I am glad yours were more understanding and that you have survived

  • My diagnose date was December 9th, 2005; first day of chemo January 3rd, 2006, final day of radiation July 25th. Hodgkin's Lymphoma stage 2A.

  • good luck sweetheart

  • "the mystery bump"

  • (Continued) I am just so terrified. I keep reading stories online of ppl saying even though there blood test & chest X-ray came back normal they were still diagnosed w/ lymphoma. I am only 20 and I'm in a super state of depression cause this "wait and see game" my Dr. is doing is making me SUPER depressed & is causing me to gain ALOT of weight from worrying so much. I hope its not lymphoma cause I haven't been having any symptoms except for the size changing lump. Thanks 4 the story!

  • Thanks 4 sharing ur story! I'm going through a similar situation. Dec 2010 I had a small itch on my neck & I found this small painless lump that was about the size of 1/2 a dime on the left side of my neck 5in above the top of my shoulder. I watched it for 4month, but mine kept changing in size from small to big. I went to my Dr who put me on week of antibiotics & did test that came back norm & after watching it for 6wks it shrunk, but is still there. I am so nervous! I may have to have biopsy.

  • I also got diagnosed in my first term at university...so odd!!

  • You are a very brave lady and I draw a lot of inspiration from your mental fortitude. I watched some of your other videos and you have an amazing and beautiful smile so smile often. Hope to meet you in person one day. Stay strong.

  • your diagnostics was 3 days after my birthday

  • @torisummer10 omg same here!

  • You are a beautiful person and this is an awesome video.

  • You are soo pretty!!!!! I know how you feel about the whole googling thing! When I first found out about my disease I had NEVER heard of it, and went through the exact same process as you! I lost almost all of my friends, it sucked. (I am only like 2 months younger than you haha!) but seriously you are a huge inspiration, I shared you on my facebook! I was also told I would never be able to have kids and now I have a beautiful daughter! God works in mysterious ways!

  • Thanks for sharing this with us, Lauren. When you said it felt like a dream, it reminded me of when my boyfriend got diagnosed with braincancer. It felt so unreal, and like a dream...

  • <3<3<3<3<3<3 you will beat this :) x

  • @vdjn55 haha, I have been laughing at the "troll" debate. kinda flattering that people would put "first" because they know other people will comment on the video. Not saying I want people to though.

  • And you're right, Screw cancer! My dad was just diagnosed with eosinophilic-cystitis but all the doctors thought it was cancer. He had a tumor in his bladder and it hurts to pee and apparently, this condition does exactly that. Only 84 people in Canadian medical history have had it so there's not much is known about it. I was really scared before the diagnoses, and I can't begin to imagine how my dad felt, but I showed him your videos and it really inspired him and gave him hope.

    Thank you <3

  • Lauren, I can only imagine how difficult it is to re-live that particular moment of your life. Thank you for having the courage to share that with all of us. XOXOXO

  • @TheCatlady78 If you stop giving them attention for doing it they will stop

  • your really cute

  • did you start college early? you said you turned 18 december 27th and before you said you were at college. just trying to get my facts straight! thanks for checking in! you have a lot of people worrying and keeping you in their prayers. keep it up Lauren!

  • @AyyyCeee: She said she was 18 when she started college, and later stated she turned 19 on December 27th, 2010; the same week she started chemo.

  • @metamorphicmuse thank you for clearing that up for me! i'm slow.. hahaha

  • its my new friend Lauren :) <3 following your story!

  • So did you ever get your n64? :D

  • your amazing.

  • You rock Ms Lauren! :D stay strong! It's great to hear from you!!

  • you are amazing and i know you will get through this-you're too strong & beautiful :)

  • @TheCatlady78 haha haters gonna hate!

  • @vdjn55 Im refering to your ignorance in your 'first comment' comment, Im not a hater, well... actually, im haten towards you right now cause uv nothing better to do but go around looking for vids to write 'first comment'on, maybe read the title and tell me if its ok to to put ur spam crap on this vid! GET A LIFE, find some friends so u dont have to sit on youtube all day with ur crappy comment thinking ur some sort of god cus u got the 'first comment' ... such an acheivment!!loser!

  • @MzShaunerz LOL! As a matter of fact I am subscribed to Lauren and I have been praying for her daily(yes I am a Christian), since I discovered her condition. Besides, I find it amusing how just a few people in the comments are annoyed by "first!". I bet Lauren must be laughing her butt off at the comments XD

So, I do have a life; I just happened to see her new video on my Subs. page, I do have quite a nice circle of friends, I don't think I'm a God, and you're right, it IS an achievement! :D

  • your AWESOME

  • yea who doesnt scare themselves from google

  • Your such an awesome inspiration.

  • @ulookconfusedYAY You're*

  • @missinglink96 Aww man :') I never do that! Sorry xD

  • may Jesus bless and gaurd you always...big hugs to such a brave girl

  • My tumor was in the same spot :/ I hated my port. It left a horrible scar when they took it out. Thanks for sharing your story!

  • I loved hearing your story and seeing how upbeat and happy you are while you deal with. I think I might've said, but I've had my own issues with depression for completely irrelevant reasons but watching your blogs has helped me massively. In the few months that I've been watching your stuff, I've gone from feeling as though I'm worth nothing to knowing that I can do anything if I set my mind to it. Thanks for being awesome :D keep us updated!!

  • So inspiring

  • first

  • @vdjn55 Honestly, she just told her story about cancer and you say "first"? It's not necessary and disrespectful really. Who cares if you're first.

    ---

I'm so glad you're able to share your story and are improving, I wish you the best Lauren. :)

  • @StarstruckFerSure Not necessary? It is necessary for me!... but disrespectful?? I think not! Haters gonna hate!

    And I care if I'm first :D

  • @vdjn55 You fail at trolling....newb its respectful to Lauren as here she is trying to tell everyone whom cares about her, even if they've never met her, and all you care about it putting 'first'. How bout you grow up and start trolling properly, only fail trolls and newbs are this stupid.

  • @BreakingGlassHearts Hahaha I'm a troll for simply saying "first" on a video? I think you should look up the definition of trolling. As far as I'm concerned, you fit that description perfectly. Troll. :D

  • @vdjn55 I didn't day you are a troll...I said you fail at trolling....there's a difference, I called you a fail troll as your profile interests you say you like trolling, but any good troll knows how pathetic it is to 'first' a comment, silly....boy? I'm guessing?

  • @vdjn55 have a bitta fuckin respect!!!!!!

  • @MzShaunerz Once again, haters gonna hate!
