Dude you copied the song to the last note. The solos were improvised.. why didn't you improvise your own? Do me a favor and use your ears, I know you have them, rather than practicing from the tabs until its exactly the same. You've got some chops, but i would love to see you take some risks and step outside of the lines that already exist.
I don't know if you read, but he claimed that he is doing a cover.His intention was not to make his own version, but just to reproduce, like he does in Tender Surrender (Steve Vai),for example. Yes, I have looked a bit at his string bending. Once again, he mostly, not always mind you, but he uses the muscles in his fingers to bend. Not his hand. Think for a moment here. Pitch bending a guitar string is what electric guitar is all about. His vibrato really sucks because of his technique/weak hands. He has weak hands and just plays a bunch of licks one after another in a random fashion. He never really assembles any particular melody through out the song. He also does not seem to experiment very much with guitar tone, which is equally or even more important than melody.

That guy clearly address the issue of good guitar technique and specifically address the issue of weak handed sissy guitar playing. He talks about playing guitar with your "fingers straight". Yes, I have looked a bit at his string bending. Once again, he mostly, not always mind you, but he uses the muscles in his fingers to bend. Not his hand. Think for a moment here. How strong are the little iddy biddy muscles in your fingers compared to the size of the muscles in your hand? It is a simple thing to understand. He is lame, about as lame as lame can be. I know Fender has sponsor him. This very fact is what makes me angry. For instance: when I was a kid, each and every guitar from Fender or Gibson, was hand crafted. Each craftsman put his heart into that one guitar. Pitch bending a guitar string is what electric guitar is all about. His vibrato really sucks because of his technique/weak hands. Jenrayi. Thanks again. You brought up his string bending in his song 'new canon rock'. This is a good example of what I am really trying to get at here. Sure, there are times when a guitar player has to let go of his grip, but to understand what a grip can do for technique, do a utube for:
joe satriani - until we say goodbye live in san francisco It's the same sort of song as cannon rock and it is clear to see how much he gets out of the guitar. It all has to do with the way he holds the guitar

He has weak hands and just plays a bunch of licks one after another in a random fashion. He never really assembles any particular melody through out the song. He also does not seem to experiment very much with guitar tone, which is equally or even more important than melody.
