  • Very nice video! Beautiful!

  • awww i wanted to see Rose jump up on his house :(

  • Your dogs are awesome! : D

  • is it hard to pull focus when using the fig rig?

  • I'm so glad Kim said hello! I was beginning to wonder if you were the odd one out in your family. Keep up the passion, say hello to the dogs :)

  • LMAO look at the look of that guys face 3:07 lol

  • how did you stay on focus while chasing the dog the first time with 550D?? did you do it manually?

  • it would of been super funny if he would of fall while chasing the dog

  • This video convinced me to get a dog and a yard instead of this shaky overpriced rig

  • what an awesome dog

  • you're too funny with dogs! lol!

  • irish?

  • they look identical

  • Hahahaha, Awesome test. I like rosie and bob!

  • I agree with your final analysis. iTS NOT THAT CHEAP IS IT. There is still too much general shake and nausea inducement. Better make your own on the cheap as you say. Very interesting test though and thanks for making the effort for all us would be film makers.

  • :) very entertaining!

  • awesome fun vid - very helpful - we dig Rosie and Bob!, fig rig seems pretty good, it's been around 6months since you shot this are you still liking the fig ? thanks for vid.

  • Thanks so much for this! I'll definitely make my own now for sure!

  • bob is like ..shut the f~#k up

  • thanks............... nice tests .. very entertaning . ilove rosie & bob i hope you make more flims like this in future.....god bless you and your family. (sorry my bad english) .

  • haha I had this on my wish list for sometime, after seeing this vid, I finally took it off, its a rip off, I have a glidecam which I HATE, but it does a much better job than this.

ANd Like bob in your video I was close to puking with all the jumpyness haha.

anyways thanks for the quick look it helped me decide, and Im dusting off my glidecam now and giving that horrible contraption another chance.

  • Nice Competizione man!

  • Thanks for the video. You convinced me that it is worth saving up for a glide cam system.

  • Christ... I'm going to puke now from the motion sickness.

  • What kind of dog is Rosie?

  • DDon't know of any uwa lens that has vr. The closest would be NIKON 16-35mm f/4 vr lens

  • Does your Tokina 11-16 have VR or IS ??? That can reduce the vibration.

  • @thumelen Tokina doesn't have any kind of vibration reduction. And IS and VR is brand's own names. IS is in Canon lenses and VR in Nikon lenses, Sigma has OS and etc etc

  • @FinlandApollo Owh didn't know that ... so Tokina lenses does not use anytype of vibration reduction....I find that interesting when the technology is available and they didn't incorporate it into any of there lenses

  • @thumelen Well, most of the Tokinas lenses are wide angle, so you don't need vibration reduction, except you do video. But mostly, I wouldn't like that tokina would put VR to their lenses, because it makes lenses more expensive than now.

  • what a nice house man ..

  • Way overpriced!!

There are a few DIY Fig Rig videos on YouTube... Those cost around US$30 and do the same job!

  • @fumach what do you think would be a reasonable price for this? my boss got it for £50 and i would be happy with that but at over 5 times that for new I agree way too overpriced

  • @Dombowerphoto £50 sounds quite fair, as it is Manfrotto hardware... I'd definitely pay that money for it!

    £250 is just insane!

  • Do you use imovie Dom? or final cut? because i want to know if the canon movie files can go into imovie or final cut straight from the camera ? thanks :)

  • @Carrrott i use imovie and also screenflow for my videos. they both work fine with the canon files, only one that doesnt is windows movie maker.

  • Im far more impressed by your parents house than I am with the Fig Rig. Doesn't seem worth the investment to be honest.

  • @motokokusanagi85 what if it was £50

  • @Dombowerphoto Then I'd be more inclined to suggest that it would be a decent investment. Cheers Mr Dom :o)

  • lol, Kim seems less then impressed...

  • @rticknor if it is not edible then kim is not interested

  • what focus did you used ?

  • @estrm manual, on an 11mm lens hyperfocal distance is pretty easy to get.

  • what fisheye lens was that or was that the same lens but just on 11mm?

  • @ferr17 the nikon 10.5 fish eye

  • Nice house! And a great tool to start with I think. Could get some good fairly steady footage with this!

  • 6:29 blowjob view

  • I like Rosie, she is real funny :))

  • Yeah, holding the rig filming yourself with the fisheye = tiny head with massive arms and shoulders ;)

  • A little out of puff their bro

  • Amazing dog!!!!

  • All man, I got all dizzy with the footage

  • i dont know to much about dslr video but is that suppost to replace a glide cam and i also see it has a spot for off cam flash does it have a spot for pull focus?

  • got a nice place Dom nice

  • Do you live in Cramond?

  • @Edinwildlifetog I live in haymarket edinburgh but my parents live in Dundee

  • @Dombowerphoto Oh,i just had a feeling i has seen the 2 dogs before down the river almond,Cramond. Maybe no! :O) I am over at East Craigs...near Cammo estate. You ever had a wander round there with the camera? Cracking place with some good photo ops...

  • Nice house ! Also I like shoulder pad rigs rig

  • thats not his house.. its his papa's

  • What an amazing house!

  • @GrimsditchImages yep dad is an architect

  • dont think it makes you look cool hahaha

if i used that thing i would get locked up

  • Pretty cool

  • Hague MMC is all you need :) Not much difference......

  • nice house Dom! btw at 3:34 is that your dad?

its handy but not worth the money ...

  • @MVC7CVM yep my dad, and my dads house.

  • @Dombowerphoto That is cool :)

  • Hey Dom, when you are going to do the next flickr critique? Keep them coming!!

  • Certainly not very high tech, the results aren't really much better than hand-holding it. Surely a steadicam would be much better for this sort of thing, though they are quite a bit more expensive.

  • thats a HUGE house

  • Nice house.

  • yeah its to expensive, its ok but to expensive.

  • does look better but not worth the money

  • Comment removed

  • Please tell that, at least once, you made vehicle "broom broom!" sounds whilst holding the Manfrotto 'steering wheel'.

    I know I would.

  • love your house and your dogs!!!

  • its a bit still shaky. i do agree it helps a bit.

  • I think all gear tests should include these 2 dogs from now on!

  • @MacPassion ok will do.

  • @MacPassion I agree :)
