This summer, 2011, I visited Coney Island but could not see any traveling circus sideshows or freakshows in the amusement park area, sadly. There were no World's Smallest Woman sideshow, Snake Woman sideshow or Freak Baby museum of Dr. Takeshi Yamada, sadly. Instead, I saw a new amusement park with giant thrill rides and rollercosters, which can be seen in any other amusement parks. I miss those classic sideshows in Coney Island!
awesome! I am planning to visit Coney Island this summer. I wish I can visit his freak show then :-) Does anyone know when the amusement park season starts?
I saw him and his FREAK BABY MUSEUM sideshow at this year's Feast of San Gennaro festival in Little Italy in Manhattan. He was awesome! I could not find other freak shows such as Snake Woman sideshow, which I visited the last year there.
I saw this Asian sideshow barker this summer at Coney Island amusement park. The freak babies of his sideshow were really weird but interesting. He told me they used to show alive freak babies and children in Coney Island, and that made Coney Island world famous for freak shows.
In the 40s and 50s there were live premature babies in incubators which was paid for by the 10 cent admissions as there were no such facilities in hospitals - especially for those who had no money - and thousands of babies were saved from a certain death!
I had a great time seeing this freak baby museum in Dreamland Amusement Park in Coney Island (Brooklyn, New York) in the last July (2009). It was really awesome. (He was using recorded bally when I visit the show.) He is a famous and eccentric New York City performer and artist, Dr. Takeshi Yamada. He had six amazing freak human babies on display at his sideshow there. His show was very popular.

Check first as the plans change from day to day - there may be a large amount of freak shows again this summer but there is no guarantee.

I saw his very cool baby show in Coney Island, too. I love sideshows. I am glad to see so many sideshows this year in Coney Island.
