I DO enjoy the FF series. However, the FFXI community seems to now be filled with only (like you mentioned) fanboys, along with people who never leave their house (not gonna lie, that was me back then.. but hey, I was 17) and just elitist assholes in general. I had a positive attitude a few months back with the game but it honestly doesn't seem worth it anymore. I've branched out to WoW, Aion and I'm going to play Guild Wars 2. FFXI is NOT noob friendly. I would suggest FFXIV in 2013..

Sure, it always had a lot of grinding & the the things you mentioned in the game are true, but despite it all I enjoyed it. Like you said, to each his own.. however, over the past couple years the game really has gone to shit. The only reason I even log in now is for nostalgia sake. No, I'm not a fangirl or anything.
definitely liked the comedic approach here, but 1: balkans? Galkans? and 2... this game definitely did come out before WoW, so to compare the graphics and say anything bad about FFXI to WoW graphic wise is a little weird. You did sort of promote them early but then sort of insulted the game's direction in graphics.
Also, I'm pretty sure you have the same approach my friend Augden has about this game (and its fans) - check out my Dead Rising 2 video for comparison. :P

I find it funny he's talking shit about people who play ffxi and have no life, I don't think he's making a good point of it by being fat and video blogging on youtube... it just isn't cool period, to play any MMO in anyones eyes most the time. Main stream is supposedly being into cars, actually having a job (I suspect he's on unemployment, but that's just me) and to top it all off. Having a family. Next time please post a video blog of your main stream life, with your main stream wife.

WoW isn't even a MMO dude, it's like 1 step about runescape. It was designed for 14 year olds with ADHD who can't focus long enough to play a game for more than a month.
And how you were talking about gear becoming outdated in WoW.... That's why people liked XI. Because that shit happened so rarely it made you feel like you actually accomplished something when you got a piece of good gear.
Also, FF11 is pretty much over now. Level cap 99 = fuck that. It's all about FF14 now.
And then came Final Fantasy XIV, but don't worry your friend won't go there. It is as they say not "skilled" enough! It is "Newbie friendly" and really FFXI can't have that!
