Whats cool about this album is that it was put together to give the listener a sense that a story was being told and you could close your eyes and picture everything like watching a move. Thus the title "Moving Pictures". Unlike todays commercially produced music (which I do enjoy) that seems more like its made for a movie. There is a certain sound that is lost in music when it is produced for commercialization vrs. the listener

@jexplink...Personally, I think 2112 is the best Rush album. One of very few Rock-N-Roll records I could play beginning to end without a single mediocre song. The whole album is phenominal, and a production masterpiece. While Moving Pictures is a tremendous album, it's not the caliber of 2112. Just my opinion, of course.

@419MadMax I love 2112 but it is 3x Platinum and Moving Pictures is 4x Platinum. It is your opinion on which is #1 but I think they are #1 and #2 . Farewell to Kings and Hemispheres are next followed by Caress Of Steel and RUSH.. then Permanent Waves and Signals. I won't try to rank Presto, Power Windows, Roll The Bones.. etc.. but I like Test For Echo better than all of those

I love 'A Farewell to Kings', but honestly speaking 'Moving Pictures' is equally as good, easily the two best albums they did, and two of the best albums of all time. I love the way this album finds a perfect balance between their new 1980s sound and their 1976 to 1978 sound.

primero como has esuchado la disco , sabras de lo que hablo, practicamente todo el primer disco, de metallica, y varias canciones del ride the lightning y master fueron escritas por mustaine o co -writer (1+), hablando de cantantes, los 2 cantan horrible,(0), si hablas de hammet y mustaine practicamente mustaine es mas tecnico, los solos de hammet son casi monotos en algunos casos, practicamente cualquier guitarrista que comienza a tokando los solos de hammet, sigo...
