@thalonen,, Catholics also believe Jesus existed eternally before Mary. So whats your point? Jesus is God Almighty. Catholics do not believe Mary is God, nor do Catholics worship Mary. Instead Catholics honor and respect her since she is the one who God selected to carry himself within her womb for 9 months. Mary carried God Almighty within her womb for 9 months. He who cannot be contained was contained within Mary's womb for 9 months. We believe Jesus created Mary to be his mother.

@HolyBeThyName Why "urge" people on a feeling or a "beginning to think" concept. The Church says that it's okay to travel there until they pass judgement on the private revelation. It is good to focus on what is approved worthy of personal devotion by the Church, but as of now, nothing against the Church has been said or documented. Many conversions happened there.

A Jewish woman whom I met converted to Catholicism because of Medugorje. The girls in my grade school went to Medugorje and confirmed Medugorje is real - based on the miracles they themselves witnessed. I went to Medugorje and I KNOW Medugorje is real. The first apostles peter and paul setting up the church never ever make any mentions of apparitions, rosary praying or venerating or honoring mary in any way...they only preached the opposite warning people not to listen to anyone who told you to worship angels or the such. I am a Catholic and am horrified at how many people believe in this terrible deception at Medjugorje. There are so many numerous red flags here it should be obvious. The number of visions, the disobedience, the Jean Louis Martin incident, the condemnation of the bishop, the lack of a single substantiated miraculous cure, the scandals with the Franciscans. The list goes on. You need no signs or wonders. God's grace is sufficient.
I must emphatically state my opinion that Medjugorje is not of God. Mary would not say the things she's alleged to have said about the Franciscans or the bishop nor would she say all religions are dear to God. Nor would she appear for so long or give such banal messages. Nor would she be OK with it if the visionaries were asked to join the religious life and chose not to. This is the worst deception of our time. You will NEVER see the Vatican label this as worthy of belief. I guarantee it.

You must understand what true DEVOTION and not WORSHIP OF Mary is. Mary is the window in which we look through to see Jesus. She always points to Jesus. Even if a Catholic has misunderstood who Mary is, she in turn will show them Jesus, if they are willing to see Him. She prays for us as I can pray for you, and you for your friend. She is our intercessor, and she knows Jesus, therefore she is a very good intercessor.

I have hear a lot of recent bashing and aspersions on the apparition. But, everyone I know, including a gentleman who was instantly healed of cancer, has a deeper relationship with God as a result of it. You cannot argue with eyewitness testimony. Plus the conversions are authentic. I just don't know what to say.

let us not bad mouth apparitions that happen since we don't know for sure ourselves if they are true or not. IT IS ONLY the Catholic Church who can verify its authenticity. As the Blessed Virgin has appeared also in so many poor places around the world which do not have the finances to pursue the verification of their apparitions. (you need money to make the doctors, priests, etc eat and lodge while undergoing verification). Silence is always best. Its the Christian way.

What you have shared about the sacraments is the exact message Mary shares with us at Medjugorje, to make the mass the central focal point of our day since that is where we encounter her son, Jesus.
I also felt the same way before visiting Medjugorje do to a tugging at my heart to visit, and the love which welled up in my heart I had never encountered through at a local Mass or prayer service. Her presence became obvious.

The Vatican has not spoken. It has a policy not to do so until apparitions end so that it can judge the events in totality. Many, many priests go there. I have been 3 times and state that I have seen inexplicable phenomena which encouraged me to pray more and to fast. Several members of my family went after me and were similarly affected.
Actually it was Fatima that Lucia saw the Virgin Mary. Bernadette Soubirous is the one who saw Her in Lourdes. Lourdes has great healing wayer there due to Mary's appearence. Still flows to this day.

Praying for unbelievers is not an easy task, and it won't make the prayer any easy on us. As it is hard for some people to pray for those who curse them, offend them, or hate them. Christ taught us to love your enemy (not necessarily an enemy of war), and to bless those who curse us. This is powerful, and needs alot of strength to be set forth by believers to non-believers.

I saw Ivan Dragicevic during two US apparitions & they were both moving. To answer those who have doubts I think a good way to approach making a judgment is to look at the fruits of the apparitions. It is good to focus on what is approved worthy of personal devotion by the Church, but as of now, nothing against the Church has been said or documented. Many conversions happened there.

I am a Catholic and am horrified at how many people believe in this terrible deception at Medjugorje. There are so many numerous red flags here it should be obvious. The number of visions, the disobedience, the Jean Louis Martin incident, the condemnation of the bishop, the lack of a single substantiated miraculous cure, the scandals with the Franciscans. The list goes on. You need no signs or wonders. God's grace is sufficient.

Mary would not say the things she's alleged to have said about the Franciscans or the bishop nor would she say all religions are dear to God. Nor would she appear for so long or give such banal messages. Nor would she be OK with it if the visionaries were asked to join the religious life and chose not to. This is the worst deception of our time. You will NEVER see the Vatican label this as worthy of belief. I guarantee it.

I live 30 min. from Međugorje and You should see their spoiled kids driving around in BMW and Mercecedes and living large in a huge houses that are worth well over a milion. And their kids are cursing GOD and MARY and JESUS on a daily basis-soo sad to hear this, but it is true. Also many of them are hooked on heavy drugs, due to their over night wealth, and before the apparition they did not even had a roads, only a goats. I do not lie about this so help me GOD.

You must understand what true DEVOTION and not WORSHIP OF Mary is. Mary is the window in which we look through to see Jesus. She always points to Jesus. Even if a Catholic has misunderstood who Mary is, she in turn will show them Jesus, if they are willing to see Him. She prays for us as I can pray for you, and you for your friend. She is our intercessor, and she knows Jesus, therefore she is a very good intercessor.

But, everyone I know, including a gentleman who was instantly healed of cancer, has a deeper relationship with God as a result of it. You cannot argue with eyewitness testimony. We believe in the communion of Saints, One big family in God and parts of the mystical body of Christ. Jesus wanted us to develop this bond. The idea of why bother go through Saints, go directly to Jesus is a naive understanding of sainthood. When Israel used to call God the God of Abraham Isaac and Jacob it meant that the true God is the one revealed by Abraham Isaac and Jacob. Holy people are revelations of God and not barriers. Praying Mary means asking her to pray for and with us.

@xsarabearx1 In the old testament the most sacred of objects was the Ark of the Covenant, because it contained the commandments, the manna (food that fed the exiled Jews from Egypt) and Aaron's staff. The Ark itself was filled with divine power and grace, so prayers and reverence could be given.
In the new testament/covenant we see that Mary becomes the Ark. She contained the word of God, Jesus (John 1-15) the manna (Jesus= bread of life/ John 6:13) and the staff (Iron Rod in Revalation).

let us not bad mouth apparitions that happen since we don't know for sure ourselves if they are true or not. IT IS ONLY the Catholic Church who can verify its authenticity. As the Blessed Virgin has appeared also in so many poor places around the world which do not have the finances to pursue the verification of their apparitions. (you need money to make the doctors, priests, etc eat and lodge while undergoing verification). Silence is always best. Its the Christian way.

What you have shared about the sacraments is the exact message Mary shares with us at Medjugorje, to make the mass the central focal point of our day since that is where we encounter her son, Jesus.
I also felt the same way before visiting Medjugorje do to a tugging at my heart to visit, and the love which welled up in my heart I had never encountered through at a local Mass or prayer service. Her presence became obvious.
If i lived 2000 years ago would I go visit Jesus? Will I visit Mary?

Amen. A visiting priest-monk to my parish said that if Jesus appeared to him visibly, he would still prefer to have Jesus in the Eucharist, because seeing Him isn't close enough, consuming Him is.
There are many true miracles and many more false ones. The consolations I have received from God have been sweet but sometimes it is difficult to know what is from God and what is from the enemy and this is danger.
Don't give in to sensationalistic "miracles"! The Eucharist is a greater miracle!

I have tried everything in my power to find god and yet I still can not believe. I honestly opened my heart and still I was unable to believe in god. I tried everything that I could possibly do yet the only way I could have believed was if I simply pretended to believe. Live a lie.
Then my life ends and the afterlife begins.
I face god.
At some point while I was alive I did accept jesus, just to be on the -safe side- in case god does exists. And sure enough god exists.

The Vatican has not spoken. It has a policy not to do so until apparitions end so that it can judge the events in totality. Many, many priests go there. I have been 3 times and state that I have seen inexplicable phenomena which encouraged me to pray more and to fast. Several members of my family went after me and were similarly affected.

Actually it was Fatima that Lucia saw the Virgin Mary. Bernadette Soubirous is the one who saw Her in Lourdes. Lourdes has great healing wayer there due to Mary's appearence. Still flows to this day.

Dateline NBC did a story on miracles a few years ago, and Medjugorje was part of it. It involved the story of a man with cancer who had been sent home to die ... nothing more the doctors could do for him, and he went to Medjugorje as a last resort. He met Vicka there, who prayed for him and promised to tell the Blessed Mother about him that night. He said as soon as she put her hand on his head he could feel heat running through him and knew he was cured. When he got home, no cancer. Gone.

The Bible records several utterances by the Virgin Mary, the most widely known as the Magnificat. But her greatest directive to all Christians was uttered at Cana when she said: "Do whatever He tells you." I have been reading Mary's messages for many years and as a Bible teacher have come to the conclusion that there is nothing in her quoted messages that is contrary to Scripture.

I am a great believer of Saint Marie but there is this question tha tbothers me here;In Lourdes when she appeared she said in the middle of the snow in Winter flowers will grow out of the soil and it did. In RUssia she said Russia will be free from communist party without loosing one single life! But after 25 years here her messages are just the usual ordinary message of praying for unblievers? Praying for unbelievers is not an easy task, and it won't make the prayer any easy on us. As it is hard for some people to pray for those who curse them, offend them, or hate them. Christ taught us to love your enemy (not necessarily an enemy of war), and to bless those who curse us. This is powerful, and needs alot of strength to be set forth by believers to non-believers.

I saw Ivan Dragicevic during two US apparitions & they were both moving. To answer those who have doubts I think a good way to approach making a judgment is to look at the fruits of the apparitions. Has there been anything inherently evil or anything you would say gives you pause? If you're able make a trip to Medjugorje yourself.
