  • This is the best version of this song

  • i dont know why but this song reminds me 90's and childhood

  • Oh right Mtv used to present good music. Good times

  • @The1FuckOffs Its not a rumour then, they really used to play music videos?

  • Love the bass-line on this track - goes great with the melodic guitar riffs too.

  • One of best Jason's playing ever.

  • aonde foi esse show??/

  • Foi no Hollywood Rock em 1996 - no RJ.

  • go away .

  • You can't compare Rob and Kurt they are like chalk and cheese. Kurt was fucked up and had issues, as time told. I remember the last time The Cure visited here Aussie, they sold out countless shows, and the reviews for the bands live show where just amazing. I think they where in left in awe, like I was after seeing thier show. U2 and The Cure?? The Cure no if ,buts or maybes.

  • QUESTION AND COMMENT ONE DO YOU THINK KURT COBAIN WAS AS GREAT AS THE MEDIA PLAYED HIMUP TO BE ? 2 DO YOU REALLY HONESTLY THINL NIRVANA WOULD OF EVEN REMOTELY LASTED AS LONG AS THE CURE ? DO YOU HONESTLY BELIEVE HAND FOR HAND THAT ANY OF THOSE 90 BANDS COULD OF LASTED AND PUT OUT REAL MUSIC WITH SUBSTANCE AND STAMINA FOR OVER THIRTY YEARS F**K NO I DID NOT THINK SO AND I UNDER THAT SOME OF YOU PERHAPS LISTEN TO BOTH HOWEVER IF YOU DO LISTEN TO ALL THE CURE ALBUMS AND YOU WILL KNOW THE ANSWER !

  • WATCHING THIS IS EXTREMELY PAINFUL WATCHING ROBERT IN ANGUISH YOU SEE ROBERT GAVE HIS ENTIRE LIFE AND EXISTENCE TO THE CURE AND MAKING THE MOST PERFECT MUSIC FOR HIS FANS DEDICATING HIMSELF ENTIRELY ALWAYS GIVING MORE AND MORE BUT WHEN THE STUPID IDIOCY BIRTH OF GRUNGE TOOK PLACE THE CURE AND THEIR SEEMINGLY DEDICATED FANS ALL OF A SUDDEN FELL OFF AFTER ALL THEY HAD DONE AND GAVE THEY GOT SO BIG TO BE LET DOWN AND HIT ROBERT PRETTY BADLY HIM BEING FED UP WITH ALL OF IT AND HE FINALLY BROKE

  • Ecuador loves The Cure,,, so please come here and play this great song and others!!

  • This is a good example of how Simon was such an integral part in the sound of the Cure. I can't imagine them having the success they did without him. Not taking anything away from any of the other band members. I like Robert's singing and think his writing is genius.

  • Nostalgic..

  • very good drumssssss!!!! boris was the best but jason kick asssssss!!!!

  • This is so weak.

  • I agree that Jason sounds more relaxed than in the past 12 years! but his drum fills sound so conventional, nothing compared to what Boris did.

Besides, there is a reason why Boris is in the list of one of the most influential drummers in music today.. and Jason is not.

  • i know a great song when i hear one, thanks linda for givin us this song, hope ya are well kidda, roo.

  • love hearing the bass!

  • For my money it doesn't get any better than the cure in orange when it comes to taped live performances, but they nailed this great song from The Head On The Door here

  • I don't like Jason, he plays tom tom and snare without accents and groove, similar programming drum

  • This song just rocks!! It is one heck of an excellent song off of Head on the Door which is such an exceptional album, such a different feel to it!! There is no one like The Cure, no one!! And I love it that way!! :D I do so love The Cure!! <3

  • I love his SHOES i want that but dont know wuts the MARK ..:(

  • @ bassnicola: when simon is not to loud, than the guitars are too quiet!!

  • ptmr.... la batería recontra jodida, bueno creo que fue uno de los primeros conciertos de Jason Cooper

  • Simons bassguitar is to loud!!!

  • @gilmour1968 Simon is never loud enough...

  • Awesome!! Drums sound great here!!

  • I think Jason gets it wrong at 1:00, which makes Perry smile to Robert.

  • great drum

  • the drum intro is perfect..... Jeson Cooper plays well.... (in this vidio XD)

  • Why does everyone bash Jason, he seems good to me.

  • @7d7e7f7 Have you ever heeard the other Cure drummers? Perhaps if Cure had hired Sisters of Mercy's Doktor Avalanche it wouldn't sound so bad as it is with Jason.

  • Jason kick ass

  • Since Boris left, The Cure changed for bad. The rhythms became sooo dull... Hiring Jason was the worst decision Robert ever made in his career!

  • from 95 to 2004,the cure dont need boris!!!great band sound!!!

  • Agree. Jason sounded great from 95 through 2000, then it fell off. Love this version!

  • @nunozr and from 2005 - now?

  • from 2005 the cure have a sound problem with the guitar sound of porl(metalhead)and the loss of the keyboards!not resolved!

  • @nunozr No other drummer will ever replace Williams on drums. Jason is mediocre.

  • @nunozr and the lack of the DATs and extra keyboard sounds to help Jason.

  • you say that from 94-2004 the cure dont need boris.

OK, so from 2005-now they DO NEED BORIS ... that's what you said and i agree.

Boris is the best drummer for The Cure

Jason is the weakest and bad sounding drummer in a rock/alternative band! period.

  • BORIS, BORIS BORIS BORIS BORIS...!!!!!

Boris = more creative, better sound, more confident, etc

  • I like the raw open air feel of this version of 'Push'. This must have been a special concert in Brazil. It almost looks like a giant stadium.

  • of course The Cure was a mega gand when Boris was behind the drums. Compare how Boris moved all his body feeling the flow and rhythm of the songs.. and then watch Jason.. he is static and lifeless.. sorry but The Cure was not the same since Boris left...

  • Robert is unique and very talented but somehow this sounds like a cover band .or a live band with some session musicians playing a classic .

    cheers!!

  • @Calichenao Hello, Calichenao. This sounds like one of the better live versions I've heard since 87'. Today, as 4 piece, they sound like cover band. This particular version, is very true and close to recording, and is played actually pretty spot on, and powerfully.

  • the world declined when you were born

  • FODA!!!

  • Notice that the drums played an important role in the ¨Cure sound¨.

Noten que la bateria jugaba un papel muy impotante en el ¨Sonido Cure¨.

  • Drums plays an important role in music, in every band not just the cure.

A band is only as good as its drummer

  • @rocanlover2406 : AGREE with that old saying "a band is only as good as it's drummer" .. and they were great then Boris was in. Jason sucks and that's why The Cure is not as great without Boris.

    n.n

  • yeah great song go go go dont understand

  • amo esta cansion me encanta el sonido , creo ke es muy ingeniosa..

  • What a performance! I like this version. It seems special. The highlights are Simon's bass playing and Jason's drumming (a proof that he is not a bad drummer unlike what millions of others here on You Tube would like to suggest).

  • This is 1996! and he is replicating Boris's playing. The sound was inherited from Boris too.

BUT 13 years later he is sounding bad and with the new Cure songs he showed us that his drum compositions are of very low quality and his style doesn't fit a band like The Cure. That's why he has so many detractors.

  • I was thinking the same thing. Having seen the Swing Tour, I remember good sound and real power. Then seeing them in 2000, something was missing... that punch.... and still it is missing today, maybe its his kit, maybe its just him.

  • @ajittffcure

But in current years has he shown he is a good drummer?

Take a look at Push in '08 or '09...

  • @ajittffcure I the run-of-of the-mill I play 5 instruments guy. There is nothing wrong with Jason's drumming, I have no idea where the fantasy complaints originate? I can say for sure there is nothing in the comments that suggest "reality based" warranted criticism. I'd like to hear some drummers say something constructive instead of just wanting to stay in the past!

  • So... Jason CAN play, quite well, a decent drumkit... with powerful, strong beat....

Why the hell does he persist in playing this weak and pale drums from the last album??? :-S

  • Totally agree. His drum kitstarted sounding bad after 98. Why he chsnged up to playing plastic tubs, is anyones guess.

  • Best song from "Head on the Door" album!!! Najlepszy kawałek z płyty j.w.

  • thank you so much for posting this. like strawberries and cream, it's the only way, it's the only way to be.
