O.J Simpson is the greatest back of all time. This is my list 1. O.J Simpson 2. Jim Brown 3. Sweetness 4. Earl Campbell 5. Barry Sanders 6. Marshall Faulk 7. Gale Sayers 8. LT 9. Eric Dickerson 10. Marcus Allen
lol LT, i doubt it he just as a team that is just for him to run. Bo jackson, didnt a man name TD carry back to back superbowls? ya he should be on there.
not a bad list I am glad you have Jim Brown as #1 after him the rest fall in line. I may have placed a couple in different spots but overall any list with Jim Brown as #1 is a good list.
ok I'm a big cowboys fan but emmitt is number four, emmitt had the biggest offensive line of lines which was not fair but he still made men miss, walter is just plain old better, jim was just plain old better, and barry he had arguably the worst line in history and still mad all those linebackers miss and got into the endzone more than 150 times, but still emmitt all time rushing leader in rushing td leader
nope, the best ever was "the juice" oj simpson, the ONLY running back to gain 2,000 yards in 14 games. The others fall short of this mark, & needed 2 extra games.
yea thats the right group but all out of order. Faulk for one should be higher than last. its hard to compare running backs from different generations because its all relative. stats are different season lengths are different rules are different players abilities are different. its impossible to calculate whos the best ever
Barry at #4??? No way! I have seen Barry play in Dallas and he made Emmit Smith look like a 2nd team RB. Jim Brown #1 ok, #2 Walter Payton and #3 Barry Sanders, if not #2. There is no one like Barry, not before and never again!!!!!!
yes LT is extremely overrated. dont get me wrong, he will easily make the hall of fame, and i would love to have a back like him on a football team if i was a coach, but to put him in the top 10 is just stupidity. AP isnt even close to the hall of fame yet. he still has a lot to prove, and just because he had a good rookie season, people are comparing him to backs like walter payton and barry sanders, which is total bull shit. he doesnt even compare. he has potential, but as of now, he isnt good
i know every rb has a bad year, but he had a helluva rookie year, and now people are treating him like a god, which really he isnt. he has potential to be the next barry sanders, but right now he isnt living up to it
ok who ever made this fucked up big time barry sanders is the best running back to ever play the game he had a short carrier and still broke records and emmit smith blows and where is bo jackson or terrell davis. your and idiot
i was watching something aboiut him so i just said it and there are alot others like corey dillon curtis martin to name two but noone will agree on all of them
well lt career is coming to an end he will be getting old don't get me wrong he willl be noted as one of the best but he night beat emmit record but not rcently maybe towards the end of his career other than him darren sproles is a #2 running back at the best can't hold the load a full season
I like 1. Jim Brown 2. OJ Simpson 3. Barry Sanders 4. Walter Payton 5. Emmitt Smith 6. Gale Sayers 7. Earl Campbell 8. Ladanian Tomlinson 9. Thurman Thomas 10. Tony Dorsett
I agree with 9 out of the 10. You have to get rid of Emmit. His lilne made him who he is. If Barry had Emmits line, the record would have ben shattered.
i would say it's hard to argue with a countdown like this because these guys are all diferent and numbers can't always account for how great they are. i love barry sanders as a player and sportsman...personally, i think gale sayers deserves a better spot
I just noticed something, Barry Sanders gets LOW!!!!! parallel to the ground low when he cuts. Shit, that's low. My mind has imploded...anyone else notice that before? He moves so fast I don't know if anyone else has, but I just did. He's almost parallel to the ground, SHIT!
barry sanders should be #1 because he had a terrible line wit the lions waler payton #2 then jim brown #3 emmit should be #4 ... im suprised not to see tony dorsett on this list also
sanders is da best as of right now if LT doesnt keep getting injured him and Mr. portis r on pace 2 break wack ass emmit smith's record dat took him mad longe an da biggest line eva 2 get
If you look at the record books, Jim Brown (#1) only played 9 seasons. Barry Sanders (#4) played 10. Barry had more yards than Brown in his career. Even if Brown played 10 years, like Sanders, he would've had to have almost 3000 yards to catch Sanders. Never would've happen. Sanders is #1

bigmac439 2 years ago
ok LT is not overrated he is easyily the best running back of the my generation
AP is the second coming
but if he works on his handel of the football.and like i still say barry sanders is the best.

yes LT is extremely overrated. dont get me wrong, he will easily make the hall of fame, and i would love to have a back like him on a football team if i was a coach, but to put him in the top 10 is just stupidity. farrell915 2 years ago
Curtis Martin, that's a good one.
Corey has been noted in a few comments.
I think this is literally the hardest position to determine, because you really have to take quality of O-line into consideration.
That's why I would put Barry over Emmit.
buffdaddy3144 2 years ago
i get what u mean like right now michael turner who should have won mvp led the league in rushhing td and 100 away from yards
farrell915 2 years ago
And that poor bastard wasted a lot of his prime as a back-up in SD, which might have been the only team where he was legitimately a #2 back.
buffdaddy3144 2 years ago
well lt career is coming to an end he will be getting old don't get me wrong he willl be noted as one of the best but he night beat emmit record but not rcently maybe towards the end of his career other than him darren sproles is a #2 running back at the best can't hold the load a full season
farrell915 2 years ago
Sproles is sick, but too small for full time.
He doesn't have the muscle mass of MJD, for example.
buffdaddy3144 2 years ago
cant underestimate smallness look atfrank gore for example
farrell915 2 years ago
Both Gore and MJD have over 20lbs on Sproles.
buffdaddy3144 2 years ago
Scratch that, MJD has 27lbs on DS, and Gore has 33 lbs on him.
That's a lot... Sproles is very undersized, even when compared to other undersized guys.
