  • i feel like im in 7th grade gym class

  • press 5

  • @MrSzechuansteve hAHA

  • i can cradle and i dont even play lacross

  • i agree change the name

  • cradling is one of the hardest skills to master??????

    HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA

  • your stick looks so illeagal

  • how much did u pinch the head.

  • press 5 over and over he is t-baggin

  • Press 2 over and over again and it sounds like a swedish man saying f*** it

  • How to cradle balls. And to mention that this vid last week had a rating of 69%

  • 1:34 did he say a hinged gay on a door??!?!?

  • @killcams4life1 hinged gate or door

  • what the fuck is this shit

  • video sucks. guy doesn't know how to cradle stop hanging ur stick u cockfuck

  • i bet you would like to cradle another man's balls would't you ?

  • @supra890 i bet your gay ?

  • @KanYeLife i'm straight.

  • he said thw wrong way to do it and then he did the right way. then when he cradled it he did it the wrong way when trying to do the right way

  • LOL!!! xD HEHEHEHEHEHHEHE HOHOHOHOHOHOHOHOHO.

  • Nice shorts

  • Ive been to this park

  • This video is probably a good GUIDE to cradling, but any experienced player will immediately see his flaws: for one he is power cradling, most of the time your not gonna need that big of a cradle, especially when running your gonna wanna keep the stick closer in to your body, and in tighter circles (or motions) to keep from getting stick checked. Usually when I'm power cradling I'm in the open away from defenders, and have usually either caught the ball awkwardly or feel like I'm about to lose

  • -_-

  • hey question, do people normally try out for sports when they dont know how to play? because i have no idea what to do in lacrosse but i think it looks kewl.

  • @Spazzosity

I did, lol. My friends kinda pressured me into doing it and I also thought it looked like a cool sport so I decided to play. It takes awhile getting used to it but if you practice with friends or on your own, you will see your game getting bettter.

    good luck bro

  • @Spazzosity Yes, usually. the key to that is just ask your coach and don't be embarrassed to get help.

  • this realy helped

    thx (:(:(:

  • Watch my vid although it is my first it is still informative

  • How do you know if the pocket on your stick is too deep?

  • @ultimategamer07z The ball won't come out as easy if its to deep.

  • @ultimategamer07z If you can see the top of the ball under the head, your pocket is probably illeagle.

  • @ultimategamer07z if the pocket is deeper then the ball itself. a perfect pocket for me is when the pocket is close to the whole balls size

  • Good tutorial

  • why waz yall talkin shit vid waz up 3 years ago.. aha

  • omggggg i cnt cradle for NOTHING ): i really wanna make the team cause ALOT of ppl in my school LOVEEE lacrosse nd like 45 girls are trying out! they said they are gonna make about 10 to 6 cuts nd i kno im gonna get cut unless i get good at cradling. im awesome at EVERYTHING else..(THROWING :D) lol but today at practice i was cradling AWESOMEE nd i heard the coaches tlkin about how good i was cradling (: but the ball always falls out when i cradle beacuse i runn reallyyyy fast sooo any tips? =)

  • Wow! That made an easy task sound hard. Tip: If you're just learning this great game, practice often with just one hand on the stick. Bounce the ball on the ground, the wall, play catch, scoop, etc...Once you get comfortable CARRYING the ball in your stick with one hand, you'll naturally evolve into using two hands out of necessity. You'll eventually notice running with the ball seems more natural. YOU HEARD IT HEAR FIRST.

  • @sal26 thanx ur tips r a lot easier

  • IT's all in the top hand my man. Everything you do with that stick STARTS with how comfortable you can get with your top hand. The bottom hand on the stick is for carrying the ball in traffic (power cradling), throwing and shooting. You're well on your way to becoming a bad ass.

  • This video is very bad. He cradles too horizontally. For all the new lax players out there, always cradle verticle, with the lax head close to your head.

He's also doing a power cradle (big motions) which is completely unnecesary. All you need are little flicking wrist and finger motions.

The video shows the right idea, its just a little.... off.

  • thanks man starting lacrosse tomorrow

  • I just started playing lacrosse and my coach is John Crishmas

  • that was pretty ad

  • Nice shorts, buddy.

  • guys my best advice fuck the videos listen to your coaches they will explain it to you and work with you much easier

  • @Jackstock500 its always good to hear different prospectives

  • i wanna see sean morris do this

  • change the name it attracts too many homosexuals

  • hahaha your right =]

  • lol you are so right!

  • Comment removed

  • You're a master of cradling balls.

  • A kid who played CLUB ball on the WEST COAST is an expert??? Come on.

  • i have a question are you aloud to body check people someone please telle me i just started so please reply

  • I think only if there is a ground ball 5 yards away. I just started playing too, so someone could correct me.

  • you are aloud to body check only if a ball is 5 feet away or if the person your checking has the ball but you cant use your stick to hit the person

  • yes, you are but there some rules;) Ask your coach!

  • yes

  • expertvillaqe never has real experts

  • Also a good vid was The Need to Know: Episode 1, thats how i learned

  • when ever I try to scoop a ball, my stick is parrelell to the ground and perfect but when I pull my stick up the ball flys out of my pocket and balences of the tip of the head

  • make sure when u scoop it, u bring the stick straight up and down in front of ur body and cradle, to make sure the ball does not come out

  • yeah basically you want to scoop it up and pull it into a cradle immediately

  • This is an "expert"???

  • power cradle lol

  • This video's good for beginners. But the truth is that there are so many ways to cradle and most of them are more effective than this. Eventually you develop your own style whether its slow and a long motion or short and fast or even snappy, it all depends on the player.

  • thank you this video helped very much (i subbed)

  • i agree wit athletesrun13

  • i agree wit athletes run 23

  • This is the first person to teach me how to actually cradle without all the fancy crap my friends brag about

  • wtf, its a girls lacrosse rule where you cradle in front of ur helmet

  • lol tard...thats for chicks

  • I just stated lacrosse and want to practice passing, catching is a rebounder usefull? (I don't have a wall to use)

  • i have one and its help my throwing and passing for both hands so much if you can i would get one

  • swim move isn't that great

  • Do you have to cradle so close to your head or is cradling lower good to?

  • Cradle short, mid-speed, and around the chest if you're a middy or attack! (3-foot Sticks)

  • i agree with nchiplin...any lacrosse hit is usually more painful then football

  • this guy definitely enjoys cradling balls in his mouth

  • lol i know... what a fag

  • i have no troubles with this type of cradling, this is a simple open field cradle, i have trouble with the manuevering through defences while pulling the ball away from the defenders, also the cradles right before i shoot, they seem to allude me, especially in the fast pace offense we run

  • You don't need to cradle before you shoot ! Try that. Just get around the d, swim them or spin, find any possible way, even if it's greasy as fuck, just get around them, pick a spot. shoot. score.

  • wow i have been playing lacrosse for 2 years entering my 3rd and was the top goal scorer on my team and i never learned how to cradle i just did it some random way but i can now see how to do it

  • haha youre team must suck then

  • nope went undefeated and won the championships

  • Then your state must suck

  • california... some new teams but we are actually a pretty good state. i just started a new season and have 11 goals in 2 games. 4 in the first and 7 in the second.

  • ... field ? Gross.

  • any 1 can say that over the internet

  • ....doesnt he has his stick too horizontal??or Im I wrong?

  • You're correct. You cradle with the sticks head closer to your head so it increases the risk of the team being penalized because of a high stick, and decreases the risk of losing the ball because the opponents will be cautious when trying to slash your stick.

  • Yo when I craddle, the ball is usually between the bottom of the pocket and the third shotting string. Is it supposed to be there, or should the ball be a little lower?

  • All depends where your actual pocket is, meaning wear the ball goes when you catch it, My pocket is kinda low but kinda high, I have 4 rolled shooting strings so there's about 1 row in between the ball and my last string.

  • thank you i was moving my arm to far down

  • i don't get how your able to keep the ball in the net pocket.

  • If it's falling out you have to cradle faster, if it's still falling out loosen your mesh and make a better pocket.

  • hmm i never played lacrosse before....my best friend does though, i played hockey, football, baseball, and soccer. Do you think thats a good fit for lacross, it looks pretty fun.

  • Yeh that's pretty fantastic

    -Women's lax player

  • Lol, Women's lax isn't even a sport.

  • hahaha agreed

  • Defiantly you are in great shape for lacrosse you will be very good you should try it its awesome and fun.

  • i always lose the ball when i run

  • what are u supposed to wear under ur pads, and what about over ur pads if u don't have a jersey. im a noob

  • Usually at a practice in any sport with pads, you just wear a shirt then pads over that, then a color coded practice jersey doending on what your playing >__>.

For a game you do the same juss tuck in your undershirt and waear a "game jersey"

thats how I do it...commone sense man..

  • i play lax in new olreans so its rly hot and sometime i dont wear anything under my pads i doesnt rly matter and over ur pads ur coach should hav given u a jeresey

  • This is NOT proper cradling technique... it works, but is called the "gorilla cradle" for a reason. You can't throw or shoot out of that cradle and you expose the ball to the ground in this type of cradling which is never a good idea. Try doing this cradle in low motion, the ball drops out of the stick... to the OP please remove this video as this is NOT proper cradling technique...

  • hey, sourface im just like u

  • thats almost like me, i chose attack. i finished tryouts today and i made jv B. not too bad. I didnt get cut! lolz

  • yea same here but im in 8th grade so i gotta wait till next year and im practicing my ass off

  • Actually im getting a bit nice at the sport =) I might start in a few weeks or if someone is injured, its juss like football but you can't tackle so it makes it easy =D

  • It's nothing like football... I can guarantee 90% of the open floor lacrosse hits are way harder than any football tackle.

  • That is true..

  • haha i play on a college team. we have our first tourney this weekend. my forte is hockey, we won nats last year in club hockey but i want to play lacrosse so i have something to do in the spring. i never played before but i'm still gonna start (which shows how pathetic cal lacrosse is) and four days before my first game i'm using youtube to learn the game.

  • Wow I'ma freshman and this is my gonna be my first year playing lacrosse.

I choose to play defense, and have a short stick. I have trouble cradling when receiving the ball but hey im tryin.

  • umm bro the more time u spend with ur stick th ebetter....cradling should be second nature almost like walking

  • if you play defense why would u have a short stick?

  • I have no idea, my coach said its legal but imo its stupid cuz it makes checks harder. But a a senior that graduated last year gave me his shaft. So im good now, coach says I got potential so im fine now...I juss need to get me left stronger for checks..

  • coaches r making younger kids start playing defense with short sticks its supposed to help them later

  • Im a frshman been playing since sixth made my Federation JV team. Starting attack. And as far as tips again wall catch. Have a partner too that helps alot. Also again puts pads on and practice, and If ur going to play attack or Middi, then buy like a net and practice accuracy. And do some wrist excercising so it doesnt ache in a game. And agood thing for cradling is a deep pocket. Break ur mesh in and a good pocket, but not illegal. And just go from there.

  • yea dude try it with gloves and arm pads on like in the game and then try it..................... its a lot harder

  • this is gonna be my first year ever playing lacrosse... I'm not sure what exactly to do, but I do have a stick, helmet, and ball. so i'm not really sure what to do to practice. any ideas?

  • cradle, cradle, cradle, jog and cradle, cradle, cradle, cradle, jog and cradle, wall ball 50 throws each hand, wall ball cross body catch, and ALWAYS have your stick with you

  • thanks. and cross body catch? is that like throw with ur right, make it bounce to the left, and catch with the left?

  • your stick is illegal the pocket is too deep.

  • im just starting too (today) and all that cradling, passing and catching is starting to get kind of easy. but what i dont understand is that technique that kids do right before they pass the ball. they do a little cradle thing but it a shooting position. they do it like a second before they shoot. any help?

  • all you really need to do is spin it really quickly in your hand when you lean back to shoot, then you shoot it

  • im a begginner at this and i wanna know how come when i do it with another ball thats not lacrosse is it supposed to fall out ? cuz i tried with a light ball that wasnt lacrosse and it fell out every time when i did this so should i try it with a lacrosse ball?

  • you need to do it with a lacrosse ball or else you wont get the feel for it

  • this will be my first year in lacrosse and i shoulda tried out wen i was a fresh im a soph now im pretty scared and excited but my friends said imma do jus fine

  • dont worry!! omg im another beginner and im a freshman, i'm REALLY unathletic but still anyways, i just tried out and got in only because there werent enough people. (on girls' team) they only have one team, the varsity, and that has both the really good ppl and the beginner people like me. so good luck just do your best ! its very hard though. when you start, and a LOT of training runs, drills, etc.

  • ok thanks hope u do good too i practice alot at my house and lacrosse starts next month for me!

  • thank u! i just got my stick today. its really old (used) but it was cheap. :P

if u just get catching, passing, and cradling down i'm sure ull get in, especially because your school may have a shortage of ppl like us!

  • nice ive had my stick for 2 months and ive been practicing all day with cradling, shooting, passing, catching, etc and my stick is nice for $40 and yea this year our schoool had only a varsity cuz our jv moved up to varsityand my varsity and frosh soph moved out. and we had a shortage of players and could only do jv and varsity but now we got a frosh soph too and a jv and frosh soph coach so its gonna be fun

  • yah bro im in the same situation, im just starting this year and im a sophomore. but i just got my stick today. our tryouts are in two weeks and ive never cradeled a ball. any pointers?

  • yea jus keep practicing like craddling, catching, etc watch vid on how to play thats wat i did and try outs for me are in like 3 days. jus be wit friends that have played before and tell em to teach u. jus practice alot and go to the gym and lift that all i can tel u. jus keep practicing

  • im just starting everyone said im gonna suck

  • same here man

    i'm a guy btw, lol

i'm trying out for ma first time this spring

    practice. simply practice.

  • yeah im just starting lacrosse and im having soooo much trouble with it

  • I started at 3 and im talking about players starting around 14 usually quit after the first year.

  • hey what kind of footwear do i need? football cleats?

  • yeah. or lacrosse cleats. but there basically the same thing

  • warrior burns are good. there 80$ not to bad and super comfy (:

  • to much money just go to wal mart

  • I am new to lacrosse and im looking for a new stick im going to be playing Forward What would someoene Recomend i should get for a stick!

  • im rockin' the gait chaos, its a good beginning head, the shaft doesnt really matter whatever is decent is best

  • fuck you man, the shaft is soooo important you want what feels right!!!

  • hey everyone i just started playing lacrosse for my highschool any one have good idea for a new stick that wont burn a whole in my pocket

  • Warrior Revolution.

Not the best, but not the worst, head is kinda heavy but I got used to it. Only around 80 bucks, tops.

  • depends on the postion you want to play

i play defense so i use a warrior revo, good sidewall strong $80

offense warrior evo, nice pocket , very good for attack or middies

    $60 mayb

  • If your just starting lacrosse now i can bet you your gonna quit in about a year or two

  • Does it feel any differet, better, or worse while cradling with gloves on?

  • yeah i just started practicing by myself a month ago, and i just bought gloves 2 weeks back, and i can do everything fine with it. its not that bad switching to gloves. i just need grip tape cuz my shaft is slick.

  • if you have just started playing lacrosse you should work on your stick skills.( cradling, shooting, passing, catching, ground balls). i know it sounds dumb but if you work on it everyday i guarantee you will get better. also speed and agility are really important. just look for a wall where you can throw a ball and practice for an hour,

  • its even harder to cradle with a goalie stick

  • hey guys,

im just starting playing lacrosse for my highschool if you guys have any tips or drills i can work on to help me get better i would appreciate it!..thanks

  • I just started playing Lacrosse, cause can*t play Rugby anymore with my shoulder injury. Your videos are really helpfull!!!

LAcrosse is so good, i wonder why i have never thought of playing it eralier!

  • its harder to cradle with a defence stick

  • thanks now i understand i might play this year it looks fun

  • damnd shit , the guy in the video is right but this is general cradeling , there are so much other ways i think they should show them instead of this crap ! that's one of the first things you'll learn in your highschool team or lax-team

  • i could fuck you up on the field

  • dude, cradeling is easy shit. i just started and i know how to do it

  • how old are you?

  • why does it matter, i know how

  • im just wondering because im new to it as well.

    im a junior

  • im 14

    i dont play it

but i enjoy playing around with the stick and whatnot

  • gotcha

  • GAH

  • hack

  • you dont even have the right. if i was a defender you would have yard saled for hanging your stick
