Because aussies have their tail docked. They have long fur, so their dog mess always get stuck in their tail. Tons of different breeds doc tails.

And, some aussies are just born without tails.

@alkadypod Its part of the breed standard, plus they do it when theyre only a few days old and they dont have as many nerves so it isnt very painful.
