  • Im 13 i am gonna do this when im old enugh dont care what anyone says

  • i want to do an ironman

  • Lifting weights doesn't help your run or bike, You'll gain muscle doing all three disciplines. To become a better swimmer, you need to swim. To become a better runner, you need to run. To become a better cyclist you need to go on rides. If your trying to become a better Triathlete, then stop trying to become a better bench presser or dead lifter or arm curler.

  • pain pain pain pain pain pain pain pain pain yaaa pain how much can u take i can take more im better than youuuuuu BOW DOWN TO ME IM URE MASTER URE NO WERE NEAR AS GD AS ME CAUSE I CAN TAKE PAIN U CANT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! thats how it is but normal loosers are like ughh nty i wana be happy hee hee SCUM!!!!!

  • Signed up for bolton 2012, yet to learn to swim so shall be interesting. Not going to train for the bike or run although ive looked on the website and seen its a hilly one so should be tough.

  • @reid00008 .........? wow. smart guy.

  • @reid00008 You NEED to train for all three of them. Can you already run a marathon? Can you already bike that much?

  • big deal!

    it's easy for me

  • I smoke, drink, and eat rich foods in gluttonish abundance, and I love it. Abhor exercise, and shun it. I'm enjoying myself immensely. Fuck health.

  • @JeffersonDinedAlone URE A LOOSER

  • @buhtailo Well, at least I can spell "You're a loser", dumbshit.

  • i remember i did a spartan race and i thought i was cool then did an iron man and got killed

  • 21 people dont beleive in themselves

  • I am a 250 lb 6'2" high school senior. I have registered for Ironman St. George 2012 for my senior project. anybody have advice

  • @TheAkwardBrand Lose 60 pounds and stop lifting weights. It took me 4 years and 30 sprint/olympic distances to realize what it really takes to reach that level. Also get a coach. You will never be able to comprehend what it takes to swim 2.4 mi, bike 112, and run a full marathon without one. Good luck man. Ill see you there. (i was 260 as a hs senior and now after four years and 70 pounds lost, I'm about a year away from my iron man dreams)

  • @nggomez60 Why stop lifting weights? Isn't lifting weights helping to build more (for example upper body) muscle, which makes you swim faster? And how do you get a coach? I'm 16 & would love to do a triathlon when I am 18.

  • @Yapiej All the elites in this sport lifts weights as well as run, bike and swim. However they do those three things a lot more often than weight lifting.

  • @Densegrandeduvan Good to know, thank you.

  • @Yapiej You should join a triathlon club! The fees aren't very big especially when you're under 18. You will get a lot of tips and good advice!

  • @Yapiej Having strong muscles is of course, important, but to be a fast swimmer you should focus on form , technique, and eliminating drag.

  • Go Milko, go......

    GOOD LUCK !!!!

  • I leave in two days to Kona for the Ironman World Championship to compete in my first ever Ironman. I've watched this video probably 500 times over the past 6 months and I get chills everytime!

  • @runTPrun damn! i'm so jalous! i wish you all the luck in the world!! one day i'll complete one too! GOOD LUCK!

  • some people consider the marathon the ultimate endurance event.

we consider it a cooldown run.

  • Ive the done the Iron man

trouble is, it took me 37 years

  • 7 up product placement.

  • Awesome video! I just got back from a hell of a run, my ankles and knees and killing me, BUT I WILL DO THIS.

  • I will cross that finish line.. Florida 2011

  • This is just about praying to god, the only one, yourself!

  • I'm PUMPED!

  • lol i would pass out

  • im 14 years old. and currently competing in Olympic distance triathlons. My dream is to one day win this race. no matter what is takes.

  • @MultiSwimbikerun Good luck with your dream. I hope you achieve it.

Ever seeing Julie Moss cross the finish line so many year ago, I've always wanted to compete in the HIM. I've done some sprint distance races and hope I'll be ready before I turn 50. I'll be happy to just complete the HIM.

Great to see young people having a goal. Keep it up!

  • can you please upload it in a better quality? THx!!

  • Im only 13 yrs old nd starting triathlons so that at a young age i can finish the ironman. I want to be almost as great as Chrissie Wellington!

  • 21 people don't believe theirselves

  • im not dreaming of winning this, however im going to finish this

  • @pameladizon19 that's the point....most of the athletes colapsed until they even reach at the end...

  • @pameladizon19 I dream of winning it! I ran my first marathon last year at the age of 21. I ran it on 2 hours and 58 min. I figure that 10 years from now I might have a shot at it!

  • @Densegrandeduvan I love your positive attitude.

  • Somebody asked me why I do this. I responded with: I get joy from people like you being curious. I don't need to be curious anymore. I answered the curiosity with a 50lb sledgehammer and a ton of WILL and never quit attitude.

Then they asked my what it took. I said, picture yourself with your arm in a trap but you want to get home because it will save someone you love. What would you do to get out? That level of desire and commitment is what it takes.

They understand now. I AM IRONMAN.

  • I can! .....

  • What song is used in this video?

  • pain is temporary, pride is forever

  • @goprofilmer I can confirm, still proud of Ironman Frankfurt 2010 and 2012 I'll be back in the race!

  • Guys, seriously, just leave cosg9531 alone. He is in fantastic physical condition and retired at 30, all without having any goals to define him. JK, sorry, I don't buy that for a second. More like 21, recently laid off, and rotting in his mom's basement. Just ignore him, guys, and remember: "Don't feed the trolls." :D

  • No Ironman finish will ever compare to your first finish. Make it count.

  • Ive been taking Citruaid which is recommended by Sheila Taormina, anyway else take this stuff just want to see if others results are as good as mine

  • I will probably not do this. Pornhub, Ben & Jerrys and my hands is all i need!

  • @Roumbler thats the best comment Ive ever seen on here

  • @erod54

    That is really pitiful then

  • Of course it hurts.... that's why we do it. To see if you can push through the pain, push through the desire to quit, and come out on the other side. Everyone, no matter what level they're competing at, WANTS to quit at some point during the day. The key to becoming an IRONMAN is to overcome the mental and physical obstacles to finish.

  • i'm 17 now, i am training, it's constantly on my mind, im thinking about that i, one day, will be there to.

    I WILL DO THIS !!! I WILL !

  • HELL YES!!!!!!!!!!

  • im gonna fail halfway.. very inspring video by the way

  • 0:36 Chao from the Hangover!

  • cosg9531 your choice. For those who want to be better today than they were yesterday our choice. IMWI2010 finisher, by far the best day I have ever had! I did it and I will do more...

  • @thefitnessbuddy I'm in fantastic physical condition. I retired at 30 after I sold my company. My wife is a dead-ringer for the actress Barbara Rush when she was in her thirties. Must be doing something right.

  • @cosg9531 again your choice. Don't exert yourself, don't set any goals and don't do this. There are plenty of other You Tube video's to watch.

PS I never said you were doing anything wrong, so why try to bring others down with the choices they make?

  • @cosg9531 you can ask everyone that has done an Ironman, if during the race they have suffer, you know the answer, but the joy at the finish line is a greater power, what i mean is that sometimes in life you will sacrifice to get things in life, but what is at the finish line is worthy the sacrifice

  • 21 peple are not ready to suffer to get things in life

  • @nanocr Why should anyone "suffer" to get things in life? If you don't find joy in what you do, then do something else.

  • @nanocr Those 21 people will never be ironmen/women

  • I don't care to inspire anyone. I don't want to exert myself unneccesarily. I don't need any pointless goals to define myself. And I sure as flying fuck do not want to do this.

  • my science teacher is doing this this saturday, i hope he will complete it :)

  • I found something really interresting

(Till I collapse Ironman) Also a nice video

I swear that one day I Will Do This

  • 2011 - 10km run

    2012 - half marathon

    2013 - marathon

    2014 - "normal" triathlon

    2015 - iron man?

  • @goliathIV 10km - done

  • Whether you say you CAN or CAN'T your RIGHT !

Looking forward to my first one this 9-11-11 "IRONMAN WALES",

Need all your support and words of encouragement.

We will NEVER forget our brothers lost - 343

    Dean

  • I will do this.... maybe in ten years.. hahaha

  • "until there is no next step - no one here can imagine that"

  • I have done it - once - ZURICH. And will do it again this year: ROTH.

See you all in Singapore 70.3...

  • "Make friends with pain, and you will never be alone."

  • i shall do this....once im old enough

  • Naaa can't be arsed, sorry

  • i would love to do this shit haha it's crazy

  • no unless i had a reason to .

  • 100000000000000000000000 like!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • I want to do this one day. You need a courage, dedication, lots of time to kill yourself with the hard training, just to wake up stronger the next day and kill yourself again with exercises, but I love it and I think this will lead me to my goal ;)

And yes, you need to be crazy as well, to sacrifise yourself so much, to do it ;)

  • respect for the people that are 60+ doing a triathlon

  • only a crazy person would WANT to do this.

i WANT to do this one day.

  • one of the only sports that deserve this sentence:

    Fuck this is hard

  • @napoleon1969 either that, or golf deserves that sentence!!

  • Did IM Louisville in 2009. Hardest day of my life, but definitely the most rewarding. I am an IRONMAN.

Since then I've started a new job, my wife had a baby, and training is the last thing on my mind. Signed up for IRONMAN Texas. I haven't found the motivation to start training again. Watching this video again is all it took-- training day 1 starts now. Hooyah.

  • I will not only do this, I will finish this. Even if it takes me 17 hours!

The best thing about Ironman to me is the people, everybody is enthusiastic, friendly and focused. It's addictive to be around Ironmen and women. They are so humble even though they achieved the hardest race man could think of! Ironman 2011 here I come!!!

  • The race isn't so bad..it's the year off training...that sucks..lol...great to be an Ironman...but not something I dwell on much...even after 3...you kinda move on...but it was fun to do ...I now prefer to train on things that I don't "have" to train everyday for...

  • you will do this? 2010...I DID!!

  • This is one of my favorite IM videos - I love the music and the video, in general!

  • I wish the best for everybody participating in IRONMAN AZ tomorrow, you will do this and you can do it.

  • BOOOOOOOOORING.

  • @MrSharpndshiny Commit to doing one of these, and start training. Then tell me this is booring.

Sheesh, some people just don't get it.

  • Hi :-)

Please ... name of this song?? :-)

  • Yes, IM is difficult for anyone to endure. But if anyone does IM to "Brag for the rest of their life"(as the video states in the beginning). Find another sport for glory. IM is for "You". If you want to complete an IM for any other person or any other reason- stay in bed. The desire and passion has to come from within. Then train continuously to test your limits of suffering mentally and physically. Walk to the water with butterflies in your stomach, tread water and wait for the gun.

  • I just got goose-bumps

  • this is my goal in life. to get married, play major league baseball. and do the ironman.

    oh yeah im 11

  • @HenryAndCharles So spend the most time you can working on speed. Endurance is easy, just put in the time. Get fast now while your young. Then you will have it for ever, just waiting to be turned on. Endurance, you can rebuild that in a year or so. I can't wait to see your name first in the list of Kona finishers in the 2020 Ironman championship.

  • @sthibault1 thanx that means a heck of a lot. from now on i will try to increase my speed over anything

  • @HenryAndCharles hahaha awwwwwwwwwwwww thats sooo fucking cute

  • if you want to do it go for it, it will change your life. I've done it 5 times so far, going for my 6th at IM Wales next year, racing with my 18 year old daughter who has dreamt of completing it after seeing my first race in France 6 years ago. We can't wait to cross the line together on11 Sept 2011 - bring it on! :-)

  • I will do this. It will hurt and I will probably want to quit, but I will still do this.

  • @skiyewtah it does hurt... and you will sweat and stink, and you will be both too hot and cold on the same day; you will wonder "why" (even though you already know) and the "white noise" in your head will be drive you insane. You will be both sun/wind burned... you will be fussy/cranky and nervous and afraid. But then the "joy" comes... and you will be everything you ever wanted to be, and people you don't know will cheer for you, people you don't know will hug you... DO "IT" and live forever.

  • @skiyewtah You will need the willingness to sacrifice anything that gets in the way of your goals and an obsessive dedication boarding on mental illness. Remember at all times that limits exist only in your mind. When I started training for Ironman I told myself that I would slowdown if I had to but I would never quit. If you can tell yourself that with complete honesty then I think that your completion will be inevitable. Good luck.

  • I wonder how many people dream of winning on their first try.

  • completed my first sprint tri during the summer!

    I WILL COMPLETE IRONMAN SOMEDAY!

  • Ironman is so badass! I will do this before I die!

  • I am proud to say I AM bragging for the rest of my life!

  • @Reunpack I with I could vote you up 100 more times. We will be bragging together soon!!! :D

  • @sthibault1

Tattooed my Ironman Participant bracelet and my "mdot" on the inside of my right wrist. When I shake hands people see it! When they put that bracelet on at the expo, it really hits! Your like damn! Im doing this! When you see the bright light of the finish line about a 1/4 mile out (I finished in the dark) and the roar of the crowd. Let me tell you, all the pain disappears for that whole finishing stretch. It was more amazing than I ever imagined. IRONMAN FOR LIFE!

  • It truly is one of the most rewarding experiences of your life. Seeing that finish line just pumps you up and the crowds are there to cheer for everyone! One woman who raced in Louisville this year was 315 pounds 2 years ago. Race day she was 160 pounds. There was also an 80 year old doing his 30-something Ironman. Anyone can do it. You just need to put the work in.

  • started triathlon this year. my first 70.3 in 6 days :D

  • @TheMikePatheyjohns Good luck man!

  • @TheMikePatheyjohns So...How did it go?

  • @sthibault1 Better than i expected! 30th/200! full iron man next year i'm thinking. Got the bug! :p

  • Done, swim 2.4 miles , bike 112 miles, run 26.2 miles! You better believe I am going to brag for the rest of my life!

  • @jristow Brag, brag till you have no more breath. You earned it!

  • @campbpar its got nothing to do with what colour you are, if anyone is man enough to finish this race then they earn the right to brag for the rest of thier life regardless what colour they are. and how exactly is this a whitemans sport?

  • @hitter1 Well. You're very politically correct.

  • im 13 done 2 triathlons

    1- 250m swim 20 k cycle 5 k run

    2-850 swim 22k cycle 6 k run

im 13 and im aiming on doing a iron man before 21 years old

  • @sambobaline best of luck man, dont burn out to early though

  • In 7 days, I will do this! IMWI 2010 here I come and I am ready!

  • @jristow Best of luck!! I'm in training myself.

  • @jristow So...How did it go?

IM WI is my first, next year.

  • The swim should be longer and the bike should be shorter!

  • @WINYARD87

    Nope.

  • Comment removed

  • @Cr4zYH3aD No

  • @Cr4zYH3aD

    Learn how to swim.

  • @Cr4zYH3aD

That is really a funny question... ha ha ha! LMAO

  • Everybody should stop saying they want to do an IM and sign up! I'm 18 and am registered for IM Lake Placid next summer. I'm doing my first 70.3 on Sunday.

  • @num1bosoxfan04 So, how was your first 70.3?

  • that has to be so intence

  • what is the name of this song???

  • Fancy job titles can be taken away from you in a downsizing. Luxury cars can be reposessed. Your dream home can be foreclosed and taken away from you. But if you complete an Ironman, no one - and I mean NO ONE - can take that away from you. You will be an Ironman for life.

    I WILL do this.

  • @tambriz1972 oh come on... Personally, I'd rather have an amazing job, cars and home with the unlikely possibility that they could be taken from me than run a race once. But each to their own, of course.

  • @gibbonexchange Seems like you missed the point... in the end all we really have are our stories/memories: People that "step-up" to THIS challenge are different; and put their lives on hold- to train hours a day, weeks and months on end... all in the hopes of racing or just finishing THIS. It's really about you against the distance... you against time. Look around friend! WALES, ROTH, ZURICH all represent here... and as you jeer our conviction/devotion... know that we jeer your lack of.

  • @tambriz1972 Fat lot of good that will do you when you're staying in a shelter with no profession and no vehicle.

  • i want to do one of these when i get old enough im only 14 right now but this really motivates me to push the limits.

  • לצפריר גולן

    מזל טוב ליום הולדת 40

    מכולנו

  • Definitely "I will do it"

  • I wanna to tri Ironman when I have 18 =) but now I do short triatlon

  • Must have the money and time...

  • @lesterado That's my problem to. Dose bikes cost alot.

  • IronMan/Triathletes, Aquathletets, and Dualthletes.....pushing yourself to the limit.

  • what the... that's kinda hard if you think about it xD

  • is there a rule where we can no longer use 'racing road bikes' and we have to use an 'alternative road bike' instead?

  • @Azhiim361 No, use what ever bike you want, as long as its safe. Those "alternative" bike you call them, are more aerodynamic, because of the riders "tucked" position. You cannot ride close to others, because drafting is against the rules, so the special Tri bikes they call them are faster. But that's all, faster. I know many finishers that used a plain rode bike, and still finished under 13 hours.

  • @gigololounging call it crazy. but this is what real competitors do.

  • Ironman Wisconsin 2011!

  • @crazyninja005 That's my goal too! :)

  • Ron Zalko, the visionary, architect & founder of Ironman Canada wishes all triathletes the best in your 2010 training Go for it Ironmen!

  • I'M IRONMAN!!! no ur not untill u do this...

  • I need to do one of these in my llife.

  • ahhh to truly master yourself like these athletes is divine.

  • Is the Ironman in Hawii the original?

Only becuase I would like to do my ironman in the place it started.

  • @ge1org1e hawaii is invite only.

  • @ajhbball50 No it's not, they have a lottery for people who do not win a spot.

  • @mar504 my bad, did not know that, thanks.

  • @ge1org1e:

Yes it is the original. But you need to qualify in another Iron Man race the year before.

  • @Vailante

I presume an Iron70.3 would not count then?

Any advice for me if I want to do the full distance in Hawaii?

  • I know I will.

  • bike 112 miles from a big hill would be better :D

  • auto thelei arxidia

  • @RB902050 You have no idea what you are talking about. Even the pros say that this is one of the most difficult feats of endurance on the planet. It is by no means easy...and should NEVER be compared to a piddly little 5K!! You are a FOOL! You wouldn't make it past the 2nd buoy before you were screaming for the kayaks you idiot!

  • @davidfrgs

it was brag not break! lol
