  • george carlin WOOP WOOP!

every time i find someone i really like , they die : (

and i heard randi is really sick? i hope hes not.

  • I admire your clear thinking. I will try to be more like you in this respect. Thanks!

  • James Randi for President!

  • Too bad I'm an atheist... Randi would otherwise be God

  • Man i've got to meet james randi in person he's like a hero to me.

  • The same happenned when the miners in Chile were rescued due to man´s ingenuity and engineering knowledge. The vast majority of comments were that it was God´s will that saved those 33 men, and nothing else. Certainly, nobody saw an angel rescuing them, all that was used was man´s creations due to science and hard work. Then again, the believers claimed that it was God that gave man that knowledge and creativity.Oh well, I guess man can´t be credited when divine power is present. So sad.

  • Awesome

  • Wow I hope Im that with it and rational when I'm 80

  • @TotalComposure Yeah but just wait until he hits 85 and starts posting youtube vids telling people pants aren't real and that gasoline really isn't flammable...and makes a damn good argument too... and everybody believes him.

  • @eldongb1 So the credulous will then start believing him since he isn't talking about some peoples belief that is only based on emotion?

  • @robvlob More due to his ability to argue logically and speak with authority. He could start presenting logical fallacies and few of his fans would have the ability to recognise it.

  • @eldongb1 Depends on the fallacy, most stick out like a sore thumb doesn't matter who they come from. Sure it may be a matter of a first trusting what he says is true but like religion after scrutinizing it you would find the fallacies

Those that learned from his words of wisdom would use that wisdom and call out any BS.

  • @robvlob I would agree, but if someone needs a guy named Jim Randi to point out such fallacies, thhen they may need someone ( the awesome Joe Rambo?) tto point out when Randi loses it. He could go nuts and still be brilliant enough to convince folks that green hats imbue the wearer with super strength...that's obviously why we have the Green Berets.

  • @eldongb1 Most people would probably think hes being satirical/sarcastic to make a point which he sometimes does, once they realized that was his point it would be obvious to most his faculties are slipping away.

If he started babbling about unfounded claims those that already adhere to those claims may be drawn in. Claims like Biblical creation stories, panspermia(probable just flimsy evidence to support it) Raliens, talking snakes etc.

  • Carlin was the man, One of my heroes. Randy is among the short list of people I greatly respect.

  • I would like to think that one day people will view James Randi as one of the great philosophers, like Plato or Socrates. I believe he is just as important in his day as they were in theirs.

  • @bmorgan2814 Don't worship him it defeats the purpose, if you like this guy you might like "The Four Horsemen of New Athiesm." (Christofer Hitchens, Daniel Dennett, Richard Dawkins and Sam Harris) If you havn't already you should check them out they're good.

  • @port27420 It's certainly not worship. I do not have that proclivity. I meant only to imply my admiration for someone who's not willing to swallow bullshit. And I am very familiar with all those writers, particularly Hitchens and Dawkins.

  • @bmorgan2814 Because he wears a toga, right?

  • If I were on that plane I'd pray to every god I could think of. Improves the odds.

  • Yep, thank you to all those people who actually do real work on real technology and produce real results.

  • I salute James. He is the best there is. But I disagree with him about Mary. I know her history is fake but I LOVE the romance of the stories around her. She is the imaginary idol. It is the Ideal I love. And she represents that ideal woman that never existed. I respect the Ideal. And I feel uncomfortable when some one needlessly targets her. Sorry James.

  • Yeah that makes sense, lets thank our favorite sky god that our pilot had the skills to save us.

And Mr. Randi, im sure everyone agrees with you about George Carlin, Except for the right wingers, aparently Micheal Jackson can be a saint after all he did but they still beleive that Carlin was a terrible human being, i feel sorry for them

  • I am honored to have learned so much from Mr. Randy in such a short period of time.

Long live James Randi, countrymen, and decent, honorable human being.

  • well done

  • Yes, just recently I witnessed how a man saved a little girl from being hit by a car and probably from certain death... and for my surprise the mother of that girl didn't thank the man for saving her daughter at all but started ranting about how god sent him to save her... bla-bla. Seems to me that the world is getting more and more ridiculous by the minute. Damned religions should be banned.

  • @luckilykay Yeah... not like a normal human can take credit for anything these days...

  • I'll take my chances too!, if I'm wrong at least I'll go to hell, Randi 'll be there, he will play us some magic tricks :-) while we burn alive without dying :-(

  • When the hell is his book coming out?

  • this guy is a legend, i wish i could shake the mans hand.

  • flavor flav is a medium give him the million dont test him just give him a check he is good ! the best hype man in hip hop ever ! flavor flav for president

  • I love the way he talks.

  • we should really design some engines that some wild foul cannot fell!

  • Wow, I hope that I can be as brave and well composed about the subject of my own death when I am his age. I very much respect this man.

  • thanks james,once again,words of comfort.

  • Randi is one of the greatest humans alive. But do you believe if there is life outside of earth?

  • And I thought I was the only one who compared James Randi to George Carlin...

  • How much more miraculous it would have been if the engines hadn't failed at all?

To borrow from Insane Clown Posse: Who the fuck knows how airplanes work anyhow?

  • James Randi, thank you, for everything!

  • But if u WORSHIP Jesus as God then you've gone far astray. Ur a smart guy Randy, seriously. I admire you non-sexually, of course. You speak extremely well about many many topics. But this topic needs more research, in my opinion. I've argued about it numerous times and with other religions. I just reach the conclusion of human welfare over all. If all of us follow God and NOT some people (like crazy political preachers who cause terrors) who cause problems then the world would be synced. Its DNA

  • How can you influence a population to act in a certain right way and not be pushed by their own selfishness or greed to ensure the welfare of man-kind? Law will be overcome as independent thinkers would form a revolution against it, often. The best method is making people believe in a superpower beyond any measures called God who they can relate to intrapersonally rather than interpersonally. God punishes those who do bad to humans in general and rewards those who do well. It's best. Balance too

  • @ashthegreat

and some people have to die because if we're too many... don't you think we'll all die then? And there has to be a balance in ecosystems. God created Earth and other stars as well. He also created evolution, natural selection, and possibly the Big Bang (if it turns out to be very supported). He can't keep ALL men alive... I mean come on, be reasonable. If you follow God then your attitude and personality already changes to the nicer, humbler, and better. But u CANT know the future.

  • Mr. Randi, You really missed the point here. You assume that those who say, "God answered my prayers" are giving an argument why prayer works. No. Most of them acknowledge that sometimes prayer works and sometimes it does not. They are saying that it happened to work in their case. They aren't out there trying to prove anything. They're just taking it for granted that events happen by God's will. (Yes, this does raise the perennial question of why God allows suffering to happen.)

  • @tantzer lol yeah bro but we find that prayer has a not dissimilar chance of working than... well.... chance

only thing working on that flight (hardly, might i add), were the experienced pilots who just happened to be trained for situations like these XD

  • @H31MU7 We should test this idea by an experiment. Create identical intentional mechanical problems in 40 planes. Fill 20 planes with praying theists, and fill 20 with non-praying atheists (not the type of atheist who starts praying when in trouble). Then let the planes take off and see how many return to the ground safely!

Admittedly, the experiment is not without minor ethical problems.

  • @tantzer I second this experiment. Just make sure all the passengers are lawyers! :D

  • James Randi is truly an amazing man... his capacity to realize how easily his writings and findings will soon be ignored after his death is something very few of us want to accept and come to terms with. I am glad to say that I personally won't be forgetting him soon, and I hope he lives a lot longer than another 10 years.

  • Well in the incredibly slim chance james randi reads this, he's already help drastically. even if he did no more today he did far more "good" thany matthew mark or john of the god story book.

  • the worst part is most of the out there intelectuals, skeptics, and just down right atheists are getting on in there years and I really can't think on any younger persons that I feel would be reasonable standins.

  • I love you so much man!!! Adopt me!!!:'(

  • Great, Thank you!

  • I love how you keep it so real!!!

  • i think randi has changed my views significantly

  • But you do not know that the essence of ones being does continue in some energy form after the energy of the body has left its shell.

But I agree that all one can do is be the best person he can and if there is existence beyond the grave, then the soul can rest easy knowing they tried their best and not exist as a soul full of regrets.

  • Funny and intelligent!

  • Randi used "you know" at 1:29, one of his pet peeves while expressing his thoughts about communication in episode one. Nice!

  • Thanks for sharing.

  • hahahah...concentration camps.

  • brilliant

  • He just wants people to live in reality, ranting is a effective weapon, imagine if nobody complained, the world would've never been technologically advanced.

  • Can you cite one of those sources? While you look for that, do those that follow occult or dangerous religions: eg, Satanism live fuller lives as well? How do you account for atheists living past the age of 90? Also, how do you account the health benefits of those that died because of their religious beliefs or also, their lack there of?

  • Good point of view and very reasonable!!!

  • Mr. Randi, I do agree with your attacks on profiteers and ministers for hire, and I enjoy listining to your views on many other things. However, this video is an attack on these people who belive different than you, not making money on the poor. This shows a side I don't much care for. You forget that most people do live their lives beliving in God and suffer little from exsploitation. Don't hate people for their beliefs, just respect them. But please keep busting the shiesters. Thnx

  • Very good points, Mr. Randi!

  • I get a kick out of Randi's modesty. How many other people have there ever been that used there talents and abilities to not just change the world but to change the way people think and how they observe reality? And he has inspired countless others to go forth and spread the gospel of rationality and critical thinking.

  • Oh, and he's not blinking at nothingness, he's completely flipping it off. I haven't been able to make it through this video yet, but I will.

I had to stop when I heard him call the Holy Sacrament "props".

  • @ undisputedgreatest

    Ahem

    I. Thou Shalt Have No Other...

    ...ahhh, never mind.

  • Randi seems to be content with the idea of blinking into nothingness. I am not.

  • This is one of Randi's best videos!!!

  • James Randi is the closest thing to God that has ever existed.

  • now,if we could have a Randi/Sagan/Dawkins/Carlin love child......

Damn you science! you have failed me!

  • @undisputedgreatest u might also want to add George Carlin, and as he would said, he's looking up at us and laughing his ass off.

  • @undisputedgreatest u might also want to add George Carlin, and as he would said, he's looking up at us and laughing his ass off.

  • @linkuei83 Shit, if thats where Carlin is where do i sign?

  • @deathman1021 you already signed. Theists already cast us to hell. So relax and enjoy the ride when it comes xD

  • @undisputedgreatest Its because of the beard isnt it?

  • He's really the Amazing Randi. His philosophy of keeping it real is a good rule to live by and it's saved me a lot of money and trouble. I'm truly grateful to have listened to his words. It's wisdom I'm already sharing with my kids...much to the nuns' chagrin. :-)

    Thank you, Mr. Randi!

  • Agreed...he is also a true gentleman and a terrific human being.

I think your kids are in good hands, mister.

  • James Randi is my hero

  • I like this guy...He reminds me of a wizard for some reason though. You could just picture the hat on him.

  • Rooney's hair is on his head and Randi's hair is on his chin. It is like the mirror imagery on a piano.

    Too hip for the room,

    George Carlin

  • This is one smart, wise man... I hope he lives to be a hundred years old. He certainly deserves it

  • I had hoped to have seen the general weaknesses in that darned Wager, Pascals that is.

First off it doesn't cover all the bases because there are multiple religion, it doesn't say which one only better to just believe in god.

Secondly it fails to identify alternative possible scenarios, where those whom take on blind belief are punished for their discretion.

And lastly it fails to note that in such a system, the divine is far more intelligent then you and can tell your faking belief.

  • Wow the end of this video is incredibly inspiring, it's getting added straight to my favourites

  • it's like he has such pearls of wisdom but they don't come with strings attached which say to drink the koolaid (or flavor-aid, rather) like everyone else. you can have your cake and eat it, too, and not worry about any negative thing having to occur (like said koolaid drinking) to make up for the uneven "karma". this is true proof that shows one can be hopeful without having to balance it out with some 'end times' crap as if it were an equation that needs evening out. good work, randi. agian.

  • i figured out why i like randi: instead of bickering over possibilities of god and such, he simply shows how the preferred outcome can happen without divinity or superstitious input. he simply takes the supernatural out of the argument. he thereby alleviates any need to discuss the paranormal as it's already explained away by more parsimonious accounts.

others might learn a thing or two from that.

  • Well, you made a difference sir, your goal is now my goal, sad thing is tho, I have not much to contribute, I am just an artist.

Your words however, will stay with me till the day I die, undiluted, untouched and clear.

  • I respect you, but I somewhat disagree with you here. I don't see why religion, science, & skepticism can't coexist. I believe that science is reality, and we should alway be skeptical about seudo-sciences, psychics, and such. I also think religion should work with science. Prayers are fine, but even religion admits words without actions are worthless. Nothing is perfect, including science, but in this imperfect world, I think many seemingly contrary things can co-exist peacefully and soundly.

  • You seriously just said nothing at all.

  • because they are contradicting each other. you can't be a skeptic or use scientific method and still support creationism. that is the answer to your question.

  • I don't support creationism! Whoever takes the bible word for word as fact is an idiot! Most of it is more "lessons to be learned" than hard fact. They do not contradict each other if you use your brain to figure out the importance in religion and the facts of science.

I hold the facts of science before religion, because even the Pope said that if it is proven in science, the church cannot be against it (but they say lots of things don't they).

Also, a lot of this is mistranslation...

  • Hi CptGreedle. I think the point here is that simply, to be a Christian, one HAS to believe in the Bible liteerally, otherwise one is not a Christian. therefore if you do not believe in creationism one is not a crhistain, one is simply picking and choosing.

On that nbasis, you cannot be a scientist and relisigous because sciecen disproves creationsim, and then crhistianity. (assuming the above).

I apoliogise for the spelling - I'm very inedbriated after a night out with Uni social. ;)

  • Wow. You don't know religion at all. I can't begin to go over what is wrong with that statement.

I studied religion for 10 years, and that is a common misconception. How many Jews believe in creationism? It is from GENESIS after all. There are so many contradiction in the text of the Bible, you have to see past that to what it is teaching more than what it is saying. Disproving one crackpot theory proves nothing but that you can think.

The word limit is too much here to go into this...

  • Oh gods.

My apologies, I was heavily inebriated when I wrote the first.

I think I was trying to understand where we define the boundaries of christianity to be - i.e what does someone have to believe in to be a christian? I don't think everyone would come to the same answer.

  • No problem. Even people in the same church (i.e. Catholic/Episcopal) can't agree on the same things. Hence one of the inherit problems of religion. I feel there have been many mistakes but that doesn't mean there isn't any good that comes from it.

Still, I feel debating this here will go nowhere, and while I will still be a skeptic and appreciate James Randi and others like him, I will be glad to go into reasonable debates elsewhere, but here I am going to say so long to this thread.

    So Long.

  • For example... They crossed the REED Sea, not the Red Sea. The Reed was possible to cross, and a strategic move. Following Moses' path out of Egypt shows that he turned off the road, used the natural winds to cross the reed sea at the right time (something he knew about from wondering in the desert years earlier), and then the Egyptians couldn't follow. They used military moves and strategies to become a military power and conquered several lands afterwards.

    But I digress.

  • A great man.

  • old fart

  • I'm happy having spent this time with you too.

  • I admire you greatly Randy.

  • I must grow bigger eyebrows and white beard. Bushy eyebrows and big white beard really help put that `authority of God` down on the viewer. Even if he don`t believe in God it still makes others feel that a God-like figure is telling them what`s what. Very smart.

I`ll need 10 years for the white beard, but gives me time to work on my eye brows.

Oh and he makes interesting points, all arguable, of course.

  • thank you!

  • Pascal's Wager! Flashback to first year Philosophy. I'll take my chances too, in ignoring this.

  • There's a couple of problems with Pascal's wager, one is that you can never be sure which god to believe in and another is that it assumes you have a choice in belief.

  • Randi is the MAN!!!!

  • james randi is god

  • he's bearder than god.

  • I find it intriguing that people would attempt to compare JR with Andy Rooney. One can applaud Rooney's wit, but he has hardly brought anything new to the debate.

Randi probably doesn't finally have the scope or reach of Feynman or Sagan, but he is no slouch - and has a greater knack for popularising than either of them.

The obvious comparison is Voltaire:- a matching which does no disservice to either of them.

  • This has confused me since I was a kid in church. If God was really watching over them, why did the plane crash in the first place? Why does he let horrible things happen to people who pray for his help? If he gets the credit, who should get the blame? It really doesn't make any sense.

  • Take your chances and stand in front of the invisible train.

  • Hell doesn't exist you fucking moron. Grow a brain.

  • It would be very funny and ironical if you end up in the same place as Mr Randi when you die, after spending all your life trying to get into heaven and cursing people like Mr Randi to hell.

  • I agree it is stupid when people say 'thank God I survived getting shot.' Or 'God was looking over us when our plane crashed'

Oh and I'm a biblical Christian btw

  • I hated George Carlin

  • why was george carlins religion is bullshit way to logical for you? and what kind of christian tells someone to go to hell? why would he even go to hell doesn't the bible say the truth shall set you free not believe what ever bullshit is convenient for you to justify your actions?

  • Too intelligent for you?

  • Just hearing Randi speak about death fills me with great joy-as I agree with his perspective wholeheartedly-but also makes me so sad.

It's hard for me to imagine a world without James Randi and his character that provides so much rational thought stimulating ideas and laughter.

I hope he is around for more than 10 years, and there's no doubt he will be revered as he is already a Living Legend.

  • Another way to counter Pascal's wager is to point out how the theist is falsely presenting the "odds" as 50/50. If you're a religious person, it isn't just a matter of a bet between god/no god. Even if we limit ourselves to Christianity, there are dozens of denominations who think they are exclusively "right", which significantly lowers anyone's chances, not to mention all the denominations of denominations, many of which probably also think they are exclusively right. Chances plummet fast...

  • Being as young as I currently am, it is of great comfort I hear your words marking the inevitable possibilities of what is yet to occur, and still you take this so calmly. I can only imagine what experiences that lies behind your age, and for me to be this young it truly is, as always, amazing to be the stereotypical youngster to be amazed with the thought of how old others can get, and compare theirs to ones own experiences in life and ages.

  • I'm honoured to have discovered another rational thinking idol, with knowledge far greater than my own, to teach in which I sincerely heed to the teachings. I am glad an honest man as yourself took the step to show up through the Youtube-medium to appeal to the public with your own thoughts that are brought forth in a pedagogical and educational manner.

  • If I were ever to be noticed in among all of the hundreds of comments you may get, I would greatly appreciate a response to this very question: Am I approved by you, James Randi, to ensure your work here on Youtube is preserved through an action made by me suggesting I download your videos if available?

  • Normally, to be honest, what most people do, is to not ask for permission, but simply do it anyway. Since I respect you too much to do so, I need of you to approve this.

Utmost and sincerest regards, from Sweden.

  • WOw, what a brave way to look at death, I admire that. Now, the thing with religion to me is if there is a religion that teaches people honest, good, and happy living morals, then there is absolutely no wrong in believing in that. It's sort of like placebo, it may not be right but at least we're reaching the right ends. Now, that doesn't go the same for the fundamentalist nut jobs who want to press their beliefs on everyone, I despise that type.

  • Just don't overlook all of the evil that comes with the good caused by religious beliefs. Discrimination, war, intolerance, hatred of science and reason, and lack of concern for the environment (since the rapture is coming soon anyhow) are fairly common symptoms of religious belief even in those same people who are made more honest and happy.

  • That is why I said that doesn't go wit the fundamentalist nut jobs that want to press their beliefs on everyone. In that case, I find religion to merely be a variable as it is in their nature to be like that.

  • Randi, you kick ass!

  • Part 2 -- I don't believe in psychics, ghosts, diving rods, faith healers, religious dogma, etc. The only thing I "know" is what I understand SUBJECTIVELY FROM WITHIN which someone else can NEVER know.

People can argue with me all they want. The one question I have is "Have YOU devoted YEARS of your life, HOURS a day to what I'm talking about?" I'm sure your answer will be NO.

  • Here's what I've learned. I believe in what Napoleon Hill called "infinite intelligence." I spent YEARS with a notebook and my thoughts and revealed an amazing universe within myself. Transient thoughts were often overwhelmed with a "knowing" -- a perfect answer at the perfect time from the "still, small voice."

Can I prove this to you? No. Can you explain it as chemicals/unconscious/grey matter? Absolutely, which is why I can't collect the million dollars. (see part 2)

  • I don't agree with your assessment of Blaise Pascal. From what I read, he had an overwhelming religious epiphany WHICH HE KNEW HE COULDN'T "PROVE." He was basically saying, I know what I know, why don't you open yourself up too?

You make him out to be Fred Flintstone saying "Duh, well, I figure if I believe in somethin' religious I ain't got nothin to lose." His writings expound on something entirely different.

SOMETHING EXPERIENCED SUBJECTIVELY CANNOT BE "PROVEN" TO OTHERS!!

  • first of all randi i do get your point but you have to understand that we need something to beleive in. i know they should thank the pilots or the technology on the plane. but we out us believing in something the world would be rule by idiots, pedophiles, athiest and wackos that are willing to kill people just for fun.

  • I love how people thank god and not the actual people that risked their own lives and performed their jobs above and beyond to save these people who then never thanked them.

  • More importantly, James Randi most non non non heinous!!

    Be excellent to eachother!

  • what they are really doing is expressing their (conscious or otherwise) belief in something that has the power to stop them from dying, which is amplified by the magnitude of the accident. this is purely because they fear death and wishful thinking comforts them as it projects the idea that someone or something other than themselves has a desire to preserve their life and has greater power to do so than themselves.

  • Religion is all about excuses and selective thinking. If a child dies, it's God's will, and He "works in mysterious ways.". No believer will ever say - Gee, maybe I'm deluded ? Or if they come close to doing so, they are only "doubting", which is part of the brainwash as well.

Don't thank God - thank the pilot and the crew.

  • I believe in God and also agree with everything he said. Selective thinking is a problem that clouds both reason and the ability to come to a truthful conclusion based upon actual evidence and valid justification. I would NEVER give thanks to God for surviving a tragedy that others have not avoided... that would be wrong and presumptuous (really, what makes ME so special???) I'd rather continue to thank Him for the life I have and the much better world that is to come.

  • You believe in man made global warming and god? lol

  • Hudson River, not East River. I'm sure somebody's pointed this out before, but you got the river wrong.

  • JAMES RANDI IS CREDIT TO TEAM

  • Randy I don't disagree with you but I guess you might have to live from something like what these people went through ((without any control over the situation)) I believe their thinking revolves around both trying exert some control and understanding as well as expressing gratitude for what I am sure the now appreciate is an incredible gift of life. All the same I don't disagree with you. Plus don't count out the press who would not cover a story where someone say I thank the pilot and the tecs!

  • very nice analyzation :)

  • It's fucking disgusting when you have some poor sap standing on the steps of a Hospital after six months of intense chemotherapy and intense care, praising the Lawd for curing their cancer in the plain sight of the doctors... Just makes you want to pick up a nearest lead pipe and see if Jesus cures that one too.

  • James likes Carlin? Score!

  • Brilliant! I am glad to share your thoughts on the "who gets the credit" part of the video. Thank you for your realistic view of life.

  • Your Ideas are very eloquently put. Thorougly enjoyed the 8mins+

  • Love your stuff Randi, but i was sad to learn that you believe in man made global warming.....

  • maybe you should ask yourself why a man surpassingly smarter than you and known as one of the world's most fierce skeptics would accept man made global warming...

  • The science speaks for itself. The scientific community is unlikely to be wrong, though it is possible. The more time that goes by and the more research that gets done, the less likely it is that they are going to turn out to be wrong.

Do you think the UN and the IPCC don't do their jobs? Do you think any silver bullet reports that would destroy the preponderance of evidence and turn Climatology on it's head would not have been seen by people whose job it is to know climate change?

  • Look, i've been presented information myself by a college physics professor and another professor formally employed by the EPA and both have shown data that highly disputes global warming. I didn't watch a power point by Al Gore who is NOT a scientist and has no authority to really talk about climate change. This planet has been around for BILLIONS of years it has survived before humans and it will survive long after humans are gone.

  • I'm talking about the IPCC, NOT Al Gore.

And physics proffessors are NOT climatologists paid to research Global Warming: they are people payed primarily to teach Physics. This by no means makes them as credible as a body of several thousand people with the sole duty of determining whether or not Global Warming is for real. These people are far more likely to be aware of that data then not; why, then, did they conclude as they did?

Further, the veiled argument from incredulity is noted.

  • Uh oh, sound's like someone got the "word of the day" calendar.

  • Argument from Incredulity = "It seems too unlikely to me, so I choose to disbelieve all evidence that does not support my position."

The research has been done: the stakes are too high for people NOT to do the research. Alternate theories were proposed and subsequently rejected by our refined, modern scientific process. The end result is the result of the work of millions of man-hours of accumulated research: conformational bias in looking through that work does not change the truth.

  • "A lot of scientists once agreed that the world was flat."

As a matter of fact they never did. It was the Church that was responsible for the perpetuation of the myth, Earth itself was discovered to be round at the very least three hundred years before supposed birth of Jesus, and was common knowledge by 14th century.

If you knowledge of Global Warming extends to same depths as Flat Earth, I think it can be easily discarded.

  • Bahhh...Bahhhh...Sheep!!!.....Sheep!!!!!!

Listen to Al Gore, after all he invented the internet...He must be right!

Cell phones cause brain cancer as well...Bahh...Bahhh

  • Tell your parents to limit your Internet time, thanks.

  • So your strategy now is to turn to sarcasm and insults. What does this say about the quality of your position?

Also, you claim that scientists can be wrong. Thus you cannot use science to justify your 'it's just a myth' position without using special pleading. What does that leave you with to back up your claim?

You may want to reconsider your motivations for continuing the argument before calling the people with the data to back their position 'sheep'. Or else admit that you're trolling.

  • I just stated my opinion on how i was shocked that James Randi believed in the global warming lie. Then you guys started attacking me (as most global warming sheep do) and make it seem like if i don't accept global warming that makes me on the same level as a holocaust denier or something. If i were a troll why would i subscribe to Randi's channel?

    Humans didn't start climate change

    &

    Humans can't stop climate change

Buying a hybrid and passing a bunch of laws is going to change anything.

  • You stated your opinion, and I questioned what it was based in. You were the one that started outright insulting people. You also just demonstrated Godwin's Law.

Challenging you to back up your opinion with facts is different from attacking you.

If one's opinion is demonstrated to be based on something unsound, one would think it wiser to rethink the opinion.

I'm not attacking you due to outrage at your denial of Global Warming, I'm trying to show you the faultiness of your reasoning.

  • If the Amazon rain forest is continually cut down at the current rate, it will completely disappear in my lifetime. That can't be good, right?

Also... the more junk put into the air, the more junk we breath in. That can't be good, right?

Pollution also has the potential of killing off entire species. That can't be good, right?

Fossil fuels may exist in abundance, but they are limited and are being consumed faster than they are naturally being produced. That can't be good, right?

  • It wasn't until the 1980s that the Catholic Church formerly acknowledged - finally - that the Earth was not the center of our Solar System ... YIKES!!!

  • "It wasn't until the 1980s that the Catholic Church formerly acknowledged - finally - that the Earth was not the center of our Solar System ... YIKES!!!"

Holy shit, really? The more you know...

...The sadder this world seems to be.

  • Honestly wouldn't have ever come up with the James Randi/George Carlin comparison. Now, comparing Randi to Rooney, that's uncanny

  • i cant imagine why only christian morality is involved here. becuase there were only christians on the flight?

    SUCKER...

  • Sure and The Hitcherhikers Guide to the Universe led me on Mars.

  • But what if god didn't want us to pray and worship, but instead to explore, live honestly and make most of life? Why didn't Pascal think of it that way?
