@IllusionalGuitarist Thank you! I've been an admirerer of his work since The Joshua Tree. It would be stupid to call him an underrated guitar player because he is so well respected, but he is in a way because he isn't a "shredder." It's not just that he uses effects, he knows how to use them to enhance his playing and not just covering up his inadaquecies, if he had any. :)

Regard the solo: Edge doesn't do a lot of them, but when he does they're never too much. He plays it like... well, the the way the Edge would play a solo. A sign of true professionalism.

@DarkWriter31 Exactly, everybody always bashes the shit out of the edge because they think he's "trying to hide his bad talent with effects" I myself am a guitarist with 5 years experience and I like the edge, am all about the use of effects and keeping it professional, I admire you for that statement.

@IllusionalGuitarist Those who bash him usually have misunderstood the basic idea of music. There are too many guitar players who think that to play good is to play very fast, very complicated and play mostly solos. I'm a guitarist myself and have studied his effects use a bit. They're never too much and always used with taste. The guitar parts help building the mood of the songs and the effects can help to do that perfectly.
