People who are in poverty or finding a way into college are NOT forced to fight. They enlist. There are many poor people and many struggling students who will never join the military because they don't believe in war or because they are affraid. And a prisoner on dead row would not be impressed by the threat of being court marshalled. They were already supposed to get the death penalty, so nothing will hold them back...

I worked inside Salinas Valley State Prison in Soledad, CA and I can tell you its a dead place. I was a teacher/ library manager. The prisons generate the kind of violence you see. Our prisons are the worst in the Western World... they would be better off if they gave each inmate an ounce of pot and papers each month....they would not be violent...they would sleep their time away and the guards would not be at risk...especially the female guards who the men

I like watching programmes about the american prisons,They certainly know how to dish out a sentence,Unlike the prisons in the UK Our government cant get the cons out quick enough because it costs to much to keep them locked up,Thats why the foreign criminals come here to commit crimes.If you are jailed for 5 years you only do about 18 months,they knock of your remand time usually 12 months then free you on licence after about 6 months,The judicial system here is a fucking joke.

I worked inside Salinas Valley State Prison in Soledad, CA and I can tell you its a dead place. I was a teacher/ library manager. The prisons generate the kind of violence you see. Our prisons are the worst in the Western World... they would be better off if they gave each inmate an ounce of pot and papers each month....they would not be violent...they would sleep their time away and the guards would not be at risk...especially the female guards who the men
