@CharlieBladeRemus —Unless I'm much mistaken, this IS the original key. In the period during which this was composed, the instruments used were tuned much lower. As time passed they realized music could be made to sound more brilliant—so to speak—if it was in a higher key. Hence most renditions are in a higher key nowadays.
Having sung this, I have to say it's a little fast (highest BPM is listed as 78 on the original score, lowest is mid 60s, I believe). Nice rendition, though.
this is a great recording, i love the tempo. i'm currently performing this piece and i'm definitely inspired to taking it faster. thanks for posting :)
