  • Try to ride a BC ferry twice and no luck, each time. My grandmother and other people had told me how the BC ferrys are much cleaner compared to the Washington State Ferrys. Wel, if I ever make it back up to the NorthWest area. I will indee try to make a trip this time on one of the many BC ferry ships, cheers people and kepp enjoying your great ferry system .....

  • same :)

  • Me too. I've always loved that hour and 40 minutes on the sea.

  • i love bc ferries

I always stand at the front of the vessel... soaking up the sun and watching the water

  • I have taken this thing more times than I can count.

  • im never riding bc ferries

  • has any ever found it odd that the queen of saanich was built in 1963 while one of her sister ships the queen of vancover, the oldest date of construction i can find was 1974... both vessles were refited in 1974... wierd...

  • The Van was built in 1961

  • Actually, the MV Queen of Saanich is a V-Class ferry (Victoria-Class). V-Class ferries were built between 1962 and 1965. The "1974" date you found was likely a major modification date. The "Saanich", for example, was raised (upper car deck added) and stretched around 1980.

The "Saanich's" sister ship was the Queen of Esquimalt, both built in 1963. The Queen of Vancouver (and her sister ship the Queen of Victoria) was built in 1962.

  • LOL

  • ...

  • lol good 1, oldie but a goodie.

  • I've been a few of those. Can't remember the names though. I do remember the Choho (i'm from the US) going from Port Angeles, to Vic. then i've been from there to Van. several times. I also stayed on Saturna island for about a week. Cool vid, the music is a little annoying though.

  • Hey! thanks for sharing your journey! you reminded me when traveling from Vic to Van in the very same ferry back in 2003!

  • Thankyou Shortycin. This was just after I bought my camera. It was a beautiful day with calm waters so it made a nice video.
