I saw this film about three months ago, and maybe it's because everyone calls Schumacher the guy who ruined Batman for ten years, that I was shocked that he did a rather stylistic and solid film.
Wow! When I sat in theatre to watch this I had nearly no idea I was getting into. The next 1 1/2 hours took to on a roller coaster ride I'll not forget. Michael Douglas and Robert Duval both gave outstanding performances. I'm not sure who did this version of the song but it captured the movie's grittiness. Bravo, Monsieur Dude!
Falling Down is really great Drama/Thriller. Michael Douglas showed brilliant acting. I understood him (his character) in many moments. Robert Duvall, Rachel Ticotin, Barbara Hershey were great as well.
This is one of my favorite movies. Back in the day, I watched it so many times - I can't tell you how many VHS copies I've owned. Thank God for DVD. Anyway, thank you for this great video tribute of sorts. It's great.
Serious reality on the horizon...this WAS a MOVIE ...soon to be on many American Streets...the Unemployment and mortgage crisis will create many people FALLING DOWN.... well done
@VIDEOFREAK076 For me,this is a CULT-movie,one of the best movies I ever watched in cinema, great performance of all actors and the real picture of even more realistic L.A. in the U.S.A.
Wonderful work! I never thought "racist" when watching this...I saw a man losing touch with himself, his family & the world...don't get me started...I'll get people angry, I'm certain. Great job, darlin' no matter what people thought of the movie! xxoo Red
When it was initially released, it came off as racist product produced by a bourgeois white-corporate-owned production company. Then, years later, after the L.A. riots, it took on more resonance. It seemed to point up the anger in society at large, on all sides of the race issue. It's only trouble was that it was released about 7 to 10 years too early; it was ahead of it's time. As in "Colors," Robert Duvall was the really unsung performance - Oscar quality, really. Nice job, Craig!
thanks Rick, I didn't it was ever considered Racist!..hmm that's weird because it came out a year after the the 92 L.A. riots in 93, maybe it was too soon afterward?
GREAT FILM!!!
