  • Hi,

Where did you get the mini Skeleton ?

  • i wont sleep after this @_@

  • I don't want to WILLIAM HURT you

  • i know this actor lol

  • I think my mom has those chairs

  • I do not see anything in the least scary about this video...it was deliberately slow and calm so people have time to take things in....

  • To the negative comments about this video - Alexander Technique is not a cult nor does it represent cultist techniques. It is a method for healing and learning how to use the body in a healthful manner. It is especially useful for musicians and dancers who are dealing with injury, but can certainly apply to anyone.

  • lmao!!

  • I like seeing him read cue cards or looking at a cat.. or something.. around 1:10

  • A very helpful technique!

    And nice piano music :)

  • 1:31 That is about the most beautiful look I've ever seen anyone give to someone.... She reminds me of Liza Minnelli - which can be taken as a compliment, by the way ;)

  • @danijmay11 Jane is my teacher, and she laughs like Liza, too. She's absolutely lovely.

  • I wasn't bored at all. I found this incredibly entertaining and actually useful.

  • zzzzzzz the technique may be good, but these two clowns have me bored out of my skull, they should learn how to talk properly.

  • @maplebanks you should see the rest of the video. It's an hour and 50 minutes. This lady is hilarious. I was laughing so hard! She is just so serious that she can't help but be funny!

  • A good method made to look silly by new-age ruminants

  • I WANT THE SKELETON!

  • martial arts ie tai chi will teach all of this and much more.

  • talk to fucking slow get to the point

  • Ok this is annoying

  • alexander technique is really good, but this video gives a bad first impression. Ironically, William Hurt is doing a video on backpain.

  • it all makes sense, but the way it's presented here is quite creepy. like a scientology indoctrination video

  • this is frickin scary

  • posture correction is very important

  • Imagine this lady having sex ?I'm sure she would bore you to sleep....

  • LOL allendonnelly. How very true.

  • he looks a little like liam neeson

  • so.. when i stand up.. i'll feel happynes.. :P

  • So, this teaches you to stand up straight and get out of a chair without grabbing your knees?

    What the fuck...

  • @molewizard

    LOL

  • It seems that though the Alexander Technique has helped their posture and mental clarity, it has been highly detrimental to their presenting abilities.

  • So.... basically to cut a long story short, stand up straight, its good for the spine, wow, enough of this pretentious bullshit, she cant even turn her head properly to look at the guy, doesn't look very natural to me.

  • You aren't taught this in high school because the system appreciates the way things have been going on for the last thousand years. One has to discover ways outside the way things are taught you. Thank God for the internet. The Alexander Technique is awesome. You are taught to change for the better.

  • i wonder (starts wondering) Who else has she been inside?? XD

  • This is NOT the first lesson - it's an introduction to lead you to a web-site for the first lesson.

  • how would you trick her into blowing you?

  • It seems like William Hurt was stuck for a couple o' quid, or dollars for all you American people. I love Altered States- what happened ?

  • Jane Kosminsky is AMAZING!!! She taught me the Alexander Technique in school at the Neighborhood Playhouse School of Theatre. Try this out!

  • william did not get into this role

  • wow, i have the exact same chair at home! i always thought it's some old furniture. is it available at ikea or something?

  • @shoegazer666 Wow, you're right, me too.

  • Can fat people utilize these techniques?

  • @MrGrevy First of all, if you're only interested in discounting the Alexander Technique, please stop posting. Secondly, I'm not fat but I have experienced an Alexander lesson and I don't see why fat people couldn't use or make use of this technique.

  • @Leopardsand Wow. Defensive much? How could you possibly conclude that if I ask whether overweight people can use the techniques, that it means I'm discounting it? I just wondered. Sheesh.

  • @MrGrevy That's not what I'm saying. I looked at your other comments and they seemed like you only wanted to make AT sound like a bunch of woo-woo crap that isn't scientifically supported. My comments on discounting AT and about overweight people are completely separate from each other.

  • @Leopardsand Well is it scientifically supported? I'm not saying it's worthless if it isn't, but have there been peer reviewed studies on this? Sorry, please don't get mad or defensive or accusatory, I'm just asking. (Maybe you need an Alexander Technique on how to be polite??)

  • @MrGrevy As @shadowdancer894 said, there are peer reviewed research papers in the Journal of American Physical Therapy Association and in the British Medical Journal. In fact, you can find videos from the BMJ research here on Youtube (v=3GbwzqT9piU).

  • He sounds like a 90 year old man

  • alexander tech. is important to learn when your taking up violin lessons :D

  • This woman is most definately neurotic. A calm soft voice does not cover up the fact you're a control freak, or make you seem more spiritual. I weep for her children.

  • sometimes it was hard to spot which of them was the academy award winning actor and which of them was doing flubbing lines in one take and noticeably reading off a teleprompter. lol.

  • harry56ful, just think of Alexander Technique to be similar to music lessons, a means to undo the unnecessary stuff you taught yourself to repeat by accident. Wouldn't it be cool to have an operating manual for learning movement skills? Some way to deal with effort, reactions and how to wipe the slate clean when you'd like to start from neutral without being limited by assumptions & routines? All of the content of spiritual awareness, without the religion attached...?

  • all these academic people try excuse the money they take for this natural things they say

  • @harry56ful @harry56ful This is hardly academic. It's not recognized in any peer reviewed research.

  • @MrGrevy There is currently peer reviewed research published in British Medical Journal and the Journal of American physical therapy Association.

  • @shadowdancer894 Authors? Citations? Hello??

  • @MrGrevy There is currently peer reviewed research(since 2005) in the Journal of American Physical Therapy Association and the British Medical Journal.

  • Why do people who teach stuff like this speak in the same robotic calm manner. Tried calling a smoke help line once, it drove me mad. Instead of using a put on voice try speaking normal we are not babies.

  • Hi Billy,

Every Alexander teacher teaches in their own voice. There is something to be said for calming the person down, though. When I teach I sound like me; NYC accent and all! I agree with you that it's easier to hear someone when they speak in a more 'normal' voice.

  • I think he is reading

  • Can hardly hear you

  • Also, the general in The Hulk 2

  • Is this the bad guy brother from " A history of violence" movie?

  • Cannot get on your website to get full video

  • lol

  • Dear Watchdawg, Your comment sounds like one which comes from the person who has NO EXPERIENCE whatsoever on the subject he is making judgment about. Also my own experience regarding people who do weight lifting is different as I find their bodies often MORE RIGID comparing to people who practice 'softer methods' like Alexander Technique where STRENGTH is found through RELEASE OF THE TENSION IN THE MUSCLES rather than creating more of it like you weight lifters so often do.

  • this is what you need to have happen to you Watchdawg. You need to get into a car accident and smash your skull so hard into the windshield that it partially herniates disks in your neck. Then when you try to lift the lightest of weights you will scream and drop it. Your insurance (if you have it) wont cover your surgery or Chiro. using google you will search out alt health you will find stuff like Alexander, Feldenkrais and tai chi then you will try them and lose your know it all ignorant 'tude

  • @sivanova293 Mmmmm, sorry, it's just natural for me to be ignorant until something happens to me, only then will I start getting interested in this. Same with the system today, people won't wake up until they're out of jobs or if something else triggers them.

  • wake up, chump.

  • Thia actually works

  • 体に起こる様々な障害は、体全体の使い方に問題があったんですね。

  • I doubt that very much.

  • LOL at 3:59, she looks like she's doing a bit more than the Alexander Technique there

  • aaaaaaaaahhh huahuahuahuahua!1!!!!!

  • ahahahahahahah your so right.

  • haha

  • @allandonnelly hahaha sick perv

  • @allandonnelly This made me laugh out loud when I took it back to 3.59 Allan

  • @allandonnelly yes, lol. Look at Williams face when she does that. :)

  • Why didn't I learn this in school, instead of being bored out of my mind in history class?

  • because it's a lucrative inside secretive industry, that is JUST now being exposed in the mainstream. there is no reason to teach children how to be free, it's the technique of the cattle herders, to keep most children supressed, to do the menial tasks, while .08% are chosen to become dynamic, trained, spokespeople of the media industry. Don't fool yourself.

  • Oh wow! are you THE Rodney Mullen pro Skateboarder!??? OH MY, well, I guess I should shut up and listen! I wish I had you as my History and ethics teacher, so confounding with insight!! oh wait, you are just misappropriating Rod's name for your own gain. Sadly, I guess you have to hide behind someone else's glory. Skateboarding died when you tried your first Kick-flip. Go jump up on stage with that comedy, you 21 year old hack, wannabe, front man with instilled ingorance.

  • well done you can get out a chair :D

  • Yes he can, properly.

  • jesus said : "stand up and walk"... that's a good beginning...

  • lol I love how the woman is always flashing her eyes to look at her lines...

  • Click on me for a more down to earth experience of the Alexander Technique. I happen to like William Hurt by the way!

  • I also heard William Hurt is kindof a douchebag.

  • he is not but all his movies are flops

  • @tube4625 - Actually he won an Oscar for Kiss of The Spiderwoman.

  • @KeroroGunsouTX No he is not.

  • That woman is creepy.

  • At 4.00 she puts her finger in Blenchs' butt. ^^

  • THANK YOU!! Inspiring indeed.

One's postures can make him royalty.

  • This is a truly inspirational look at a wonderful technique. Everyone who gives this a look will feel inspired.
