People say they want to see all 11 Doctors interacting with one another for the 50th Anniversary episode special. What I say; show us what we've never seen and do a flashback to the time war and show Paul McGann once again as the Doctor, then half way through or near the end when he has to end it all, he gets killed and has to regenerate into Christopher Eccleston. This idea would let us see more of the two of them, and it would be FANTASTIC! They both deserve to play the part one more time :)
@fanofheadroom1 I liked him too, but he pretty much abandoned the whole project and all of the fans when he left the series, Christopher never gave his doctor the chance to show different sides of his personality, thus, the ninth doctor remains (to me at least) a somewhat shallow and because of this he is nothing like David Tennants tenth or Matt Smiths elevent , or Peter Davisons 5th, or Tom Bakers 4th Doctor, they all have so much more depth, because they were on longer
David Tennant and Tom Baker will always be tied as my favorites, but I am really starting to like Christopher as well. It's clear that he was super excited to enter the series and the passion really shows in his performance. And he IS funny and charming.
the more I see about Chris Eccleston, the more I come to admire him. his whole philosophy of "doing the things that frighten you" is pretty amazing, not everybody can do that. he seems to welcome challenges and (as far as I've seen) excells at them. and of course, he was a very charming Doctor =3
Eccleston made the modern Doctor what he is now, Tennant carried on from that and they're both awesome. haven't seen Matt and i don't plan to, David Tennant is impossible to follow. i can't bear watching after him. i just can't.
@buttersyrupnpancakes Wow seriously.....Matt is brilliant you just have to give him a chance, although i rather love DT as the tenth doctor. I guess i've always tried to appreciate what each actor brought to the table as the doctor. i don't like change a lot and it took me most of series 5 to truly appreciate Matt Smith as the 11th doctor. However Christopher Eccleston will always be my first and all-time favorite doctor P:
@buttersyrupnpancakes I like him too but i had to tell myself its been 2 years hes not coming back such is the way of life. One just has to realize that each actor is different and appeals to some people or they don't like the acting style. Its worth it to at least give Series 5 a chance without making a judgement. Matt Smith is a brilliant actor so is David Tennant too P: I have to say i rather prefer series 1-4 but 5 and 6 are good too.
@buttersyrupnpancakes That is probably the most narrow-minded and stupid thing I have ever heard said. Seriously. And to say it because David is 'hot' and you 'have a crush on him' is even worse. This comment really upsets me.
@beautifulpassion i'm sorry what? because i i'm politely explaining my doctor preference that is a very personal thing, you find it upsetting? everyone should like what you like? that's pretty fucking narrowminded.
@buttersyrupnpancakes You have no idea what that word means, you're a little bit of a dolt, and your reasons aren't 'very personal'- they're shallow and meaningless. Yeah. I find the fact that you're so obsessive over Tennant because he's 'hot' that you can't watch Smith upsetting. -_-
Eccleston is a very subdued man and seems to be quiet, blunt, honest and very laid back. That does NOT mean 'not charming' or 'not funny'. He seems both, to me, and quite likeable and pleasant. (And hot.) And how quiet he is really emphasis what a skilled actor he is, to transform into someone like the Doctor. And he really, really seems to get the show and the character.
@beautifulpassion I agree it shows how he gets into a character...since hes so quiet compared to when he played the 9th doctor. He seems very likeable too and he has beautiful eyes that always seem to draw you in P: The way he talks about the show is fascinating and well thought out.
@amirizar2012 Oh, yes, his gorgeous and intense eyes. His best feature besides his charming accent. It is indeed, and despite not having been a huge fan of the show as a kid he clearly really appreciates it now.
@beautifulpassion Yes i love how intense they are! and of course i love the accent too....it is interesting he wasn't a fan of the show but it takes a bit to watch the 1963 episodes. i'm watching them now and at first it was a bit weird since i've never seen a show in black and white but i like how short they are its nice. I just finished watching the story arch that introduces the Daleks and the Thails (i think that's how its spelled).
@amirizar2012 I've never watched them- the oldest I've ever gone is fifth Doctor. I can't bring myself to really get into the OLDER older episodes.
But I love that he did it for the reasons he did; because he was so curious about the really intricate things, like regeneration. I can't remember what else he said caught his attention but I love that he went straight for the most complex bits to like. Says a lot about him. :P
@beautifulpassion lol i figured if i'm gonna start with classic Doctor Who might as well start with the early early episodes.when i find a show i start with the first season and work my way up.I too am glad he decided to do the show for the time he did it. I feel its a shame people forget about him since he was brilliant as the 9th doctor. the way he talks about the complicated bits is fascinating to hear!
@amirizar2012 Haha, I typically do that, too, but honestly, I just couldn't get into any of the earlier episodes. The fifth Doctor had enough personality and charisma- and the plots were decent enough- that I managed to really like it, and people keep telling me to give Four and Six and chance, so I might.
I know, I always feel like he's so over-looked. Yes, he had a short run. His job was to bring Doctor Who back to life, and that is exactly what he did-and it was
@beautifulpassion That is so true he brought DW back for a new younger generation and Yes both Tennant and Smith are great but if it had'nt been for Christopher Eccleston the show would'nt be what it is today. comparing different actors and saying one is better than the other annoys me to no end lol!
@amirizar2012 You and I both, and I really don't get people who diss Smith. Mostly because they always seem to do is strictly because he's not Tennant, and that is so fucking stupid. Tennant was an amazingly human, passionate, flawed, wonderful Doctor who you could fall in love with and at the end you heart broke for him. Smith is the PERFECT regeneration out of a situation like that; far more alien, strange, aloof, disconnected from humanity- or tries to be- because he doesn't
@beautifulpassion Ahh yes that is so true he DT's Doctor was very human and flawed and the way he went was heart-breakingly sad and depressing. Honestly before dissing Smith watch some episodes and you just might change your mind...i know i did and it took most of series 5 for me to truly love him as The Doctor. I love how the eleventh doctor keeps his emotions just beneth the surface and those rare moments when they come out are brilliant P; like in A Good Man Goes To War!
@amirizar2012 Oh, no, I'm not dissing smith- you misunderstood me. I love Smith and his Doctor. He was actually my first Doctor, the one that really sucked me into the show. I saw all of seasons five and six before I watched the rest of the show. I'd seen bits and peices, but Smith was the first one I watched in full.
And he does, you're so so right. The Beast Below and A Good Man Goes To War are two of my favorite Eleven episodes, because he seems SO childish and so aloof
@beautifulpassion Oh i didn't assume you were dissing Smith....i think that reply was meant for the person you replied to a couple of minutes ago. Smith was the very first full episode i'd seen too. it was the episode "The Big Bang" that i saw and fell in love with the show despite not knowing anything about it...The Doctor talking to little Amy and sounding so sad broke my heart and made me cry which is a rare thing a show making me cry.
@amirizar2012@amirizar2012 Ahhh, my bad. ^_^ And oh, yeah. The talking-to-Amy scene. My mom saw that, had no idea what was happening, and teared up. (She also cried at the end of Doomsday. :P) Smith's acting in that scene is brilliant. So sad, and such a good job of being a very old, very tired man in a young man's body, and so much love in every word. I don't easily cry, either, yet DW often makes me do so...more then any other show I've ever seen.
@beautifulpassion Smith's acting in the little Amy scene was spot on amazing no question about it that at all. I think someone whose on the fence about him should watch that scene and try and say hes a crap doctor P: Its amazing how he plays the old man in a young mans body perfectly! On another note the scene with Rose begging to be taken back and her and the doctor touching the wall at the same time is so sad! If a show makes me cry i consider it an amazing show!
@beautifulpassion My list of shows and movies that make me cry is a very short one lol! i'm very cynical and very Sarcastic so i'm more apt to laugh at a sad moment if its a badly acted sad one. I annoyed my cousin years ago when we were watching Titanic and at the end i just yelled at the TV "just die already Jack....i'm bored". she called me heartless but i just said IRL he would have been dead hours ago lol! To this day i can't stand Titanic its to cheesy and sappy romantic.
@beautifulpassion I find the last half hour of the big bang so emotionally sad and i love it! i also loved The Wedding Of River Song since i can rewatch it a lot and find new thing to enjoy about it.
@amirizar2012 and oddly cold, and then BAM, there's all this passion and emotion and devotion hidden beneath. His love for Amy and Rory is heartwarming, and he has such a sense of wonder about everything. And I LOVE how he is with the TARDIS. (The Doctor's Wife was ah-ma-zing.)
And yeah, DT's ending broke my heart. I can deal with Ten dying. Ten dying alone, frightened, in pain, and unstable? That's what made me cry.
@beautifulpassion I love his relationship with Amy and Rory and The Doctors Wife was on of my fav episodes too P: Him breaking Amy's faith in him was very sad too. The tenth doctors last line "I don't want to go" combined with that music made me cry like a baby. The last half-hour of The end of time always does that...esp with him saying goodbye to Wilf after that moment i was sobbing. If a show does that i consider that amazing since few things entertainment wise do that.
@amirizar2012 want to have the.../problems/...Ten had. (Granted, poor Eleven goes through Break The Cutie anyway.) But he's a wonderful Doctor in his own way, just like Eccleston was wonderful in a way that Tennant and Smith aren't. He was a darker, more violent, more intense Doctor, fresh from a war. And you're right; without him, the others would never have had such a marvelous chance.
@beautifulpassion Very true Ten at times had the worst depressing existence in a lot of the story lines. although you are very right Eleven had the worse of all in Break the cutie ( reading TV Tropes about Doctor Who is so addicting...i can literally spend hours without even realizing it on that website)
Eccleston's doctor was very dark and intense like the moment where he meets the last surviving Dalek and almost kills it.
@amirizar2012 Ten's story was gut-wrenching because no matter how much good he tried to do it seemed like it kept going wrong...and he was /so/ human that he made very human mistakes and let himself get really emotionally involved with everything that happened. It was so hard watching him go from the bouncey, sugar-high happy go lucky man-child we saw at first to this broken shell of a man, borderline mad, punishing himself, and pushing everyone who could help away.
@beautifulpassion That is so true no matter how he tried somethings just went from bad to worse. I found it hard to see him like you said happy go-lucky to the person we saw in The Waters Of Mars....broken up about the hand life had dealt him. Then the moment he realized what he had done and actions he had causes it so heart-breaking...he learned the hard way time always wins. Losing Rose was just the start of him very human downfall.
@amirizar2012 It was...I'm of the opinion that losing Rose seriously just /broke/ him in a way that couldn't be fixed, because she was the one that /saved/ him when he was Nine. Romantic love or not, she was his life-line, and when he lost her, well. That's why he didn't think about love in The Family of Blood/ Human Nature, I think; he didn't imagine he'd want to be with anyone else, even as a human, which is so sad and so lovely all at once. He ALMOST bounced back with Martha-
@beautifulpassion That is very true him meeting Rose as the Ninth Doctor made him a better person and i loved their relationship and how it evolved. I will be honest Martha annoyed the heck out of me and i was sorta glad to see her leave after one series.
@amirizar2012 I would have /loved/ to see Donna get a longer run! I am made sad when I remember how short an apperance she actually got, and I kind of can't help but hope we see her again.
Sheesh, can you imagine Donna and Amy? In the same room? For more then five minutes?
@beautifulpassion Donna and Amy in the same room haha that would be umm interesting although can you imagine The eleventh doctor with Donna now that would be interesting to see!
@amirizar2012 but she was too needy and too obsessed with making him LURV her, and I will never, EVER forgive her for leaving him at the end of Last of the Time Lords. Ever. And Donna nearly put him back to rights completely, which made it all the more hard to see her go.
TWoM was a hard to watch episode, for me. I didn't want to see this character I had so come to love that low, that broken. When I finally did watch it, it was amazing how much David Tennant seemed to be
@beautifulpassion Yes Martha was annoyingly needy but I think her leaving at the end of Series 3 was something they both needed. I loved his relationship with Donna it was refreshing to see a companion not fall in love with him and have a proper friendship instead. The way her time ended with him was heart-breaking he brought out the best in her and made her see her true potential. Also she saved his life since look what happened to the world in "Turn Left" when he "died" !
@amirizar2012 If it had been at any other part in the series, I wouldn't have minded as much. But right after seeing him have a wailing breakdown over the body of his one-time-friend turned enemy? After everything that had happened to them both? Just leaving him to be on his own seemed incredibly selfish, and the fact that she pretty much shoved the fact that she was leaving because he didn't love her in his face felt so inappropriate.
@amirizar2012 now, as much as I adore Amy and Rory, she still is. She really was his best friend, and she was so unique and an incredible character and companion. He did indeed just let Donna see how much she could really shine, and it's gut-wrenching that he had to take that from her just when she realized how amazing she could be. They were so good for each other. And yes, she did, without doubt; she brought him back to life, didn't take his bullshit, was a shoulder when he
@amirizar2012 needed it and never treated him like anything other then a best friend. And I think he was the first person in Donna's life to ever look at her and say 'wow, look at you, you're amazing!" and she really, really needed that. I like to think a part of her never forgot it.
@beautifulpassion I know him losing his one connection to his past and then losing a companion at the same time...its like what Donna said he needs companions to stop him before he gets too far. They both helped each other in key and important ways esp with him helping Donna to see she wasn't just a useless temp with a nagging mother. Even with her memory wiped of the doctor she still helped him through Wilf in a way with the book that lead to the location of the master.
@amirizar2012 channeling Simm- amazing and frightening. It wasn't the same man in that episode, and it really showed how much alike the Master and the Doctor really are. (Don't even get me started on the Master. Favorite "villain" ever.)
@beautifulpassion ohhh yes it did show how easily The Doctor could get worse than The Master. It would have been terrible but fascinating if he went to the dark side 0-O
I do believe you like comment conversations like i do...it's not often someone out comments my comments. I rather like this since so many vids no one reply's to comments enough for my tastes.
@amirizar2012 LOL, I'm sorry, I'm really, really wordy. (Bit like Ten myself that way- I've got a gob. :p) I love comment conversations, haha, and I'm delighted to find someone else who has such fun discussing DW characters in depth and such.
And it would be truly scary. It's funny; the Master is a character that could so easily be redeemed and the Doctor is a character that could so easily be corrupted. They're two sides of the same coin that could be flipped. Gotta wonder, too
@beautifulpassion Haha no need to apolizize i'm like that too only just online. In real life i am very quiet even with people who i know...at family gatherings i just sit and observe things. its amazing the things you spot and hear when you're quiet.
Yes both the Master and the Doctor are very much two sides of a coin that could have had two very different outcomes kinda like Harvey Dent's coin in The Dark Knight..they made their own luck and fates.
@amirizar2012 You're like Sherlock Holmes, lol. The watcher in the shadows. I'm as loud in real life as I am online, if only because being bouncy-hyper really makes people underestimate you. It's fun shocking people when I'm more then I seem to be.
I'm not much a Batman girl, but I do get /that/ reference because that movie was so very wonderfully yummy. And you're right; they pave their own ways, even when it's the wrong thing to do, and won't be told how to live or what
@beautifulpassion lol! i am kinda like that yes...although i tend to talk too loud my mom always has to remind me of that. I blame my dad's side of the family for that they are a loud family conversation wise and half the time i have no idea what they're saying since i don't speak spanish lol! although i have learned that if its a spanish conversation with bits of english words its a serious issues (also if i hear my name in that conversation haha)
@beautifulpassion I also am not much into Batman ,beyond seeing the movies and occasional cartoon's as a kid. i loved how dark the 2 movies were esp the dark knight! Heath Ledger as the Joker was brilliantly complicated and dark..i loved it and it was so sad he died so young. I had to laugh at how ridicules Batman's voice sounded though esp during the interrogation with the Joker.
@beautifulpassion Hummm they would have made a great time thats for sure...of course them being enemies was what made the relationship so interesting.
@amirizar2012 Best enemies. :P But you're right, it was- the dynamic they have is complex and difficult and really, very sad, because once upon a time they were friends. :/ and in a way, they still are.
@beautifulpassion And really it was'nt the masters fault her was crazy like that ...making a child looking into the heart of the universe would probably make anyone go crazy.
@amirizar2012 OMG, that ENTIRE EPISODE was just mind blowing to me...imo, Eccleston's best. That moment is amazing, he looks just- like something inside him totally broke. But my favorite moment in that show is when he first meets the Dalek and goes a little bit insane. His body language in that episode and his /face/ and the way he just turns into this vicious, cruel thing but there's so obviously fear and pain and he just shows it ALL, effortlessly.
@beautifulpassion Ohhh yes that terrifying moment when hes stuck in a room with one of his most feared enemies and then goes crazy. That was the one episode where he lost total and utter control was interesting. I recently watched the very first episode featuring the Daleks and found it very intersting. Its almost scary how he goes from in control to out of control at the sight of the lone dalek.
@amirizar2012 Only time we ever see Eccleston's Doctor that way. Tennant's calm fury and Smith's vicious mood swings are scary, but to me, that moment was the perfect example of The Oncoming Storm, moreso then almost any other I've seen so far.
@amirizar2012 /fantastic/. ~_^ People don't seem to realize what a big job that was. Yes, Tennant was stunning. Yes, Smith is wonderful. But they're grabbing the reins, both of them, from what Eccleston re-created for us.
@beautifulpassion at least the great thing is David Tennant and Matt Smith will always be know as the Tenth and Eleventh doctor whether they like it or not. That's what DT will always be remembered for i think.
@amirizar2012 Ohhh yes. No matter what he does, DT is The Tenth Doctor. and Smith will always be the Eleventh Doctor. They just WILL be. And I think they'll both love it. Eccleston will always be Nine, too.
@beautifulpassion I think to play that Iconic role, you probably know going into it that people will know who you are from that moment on because you played The Doctor. All of DT's interviews are awesome he seems like a cool person and so does Matt Smith. They each bring their own unique personalities into the role and i love that P:
@amirizar2012 They do indeed, to both statements. They were both so excited to get to play the role, and I love that, too- like little boys, just thrilled that they got to be this amazing, brilliant character unlike any other, and, in DT's case, a character he specifically set out to get to be. Now that's heartwarming.
oh, also, about the TV Tropes? I get lost on that site for hours, too. :P
@beautifulpassion It's definitely a role you take because you always wanted to play it. I just spent an hour on TV Tropes when i intended to just look up one thing lol! as if looking up on phrase is enough
@amirizar2012 LOL, it's like pringles- you can't eat just one. :P I go there looking for something and end up two hours later miles away from the reason I went there.
@beautifulpassion For me its a pint of Ben and Jerry's Chocolate Chip Cookie Dough...I can consume the whole pint well more like inhale it lol! but that just makes me sound like a pig.
I grew up during the Pertwee/Baker eras, & I *loved* Christopher Eccleston's Doctor. My only disappointment was that he only stayed on for a single season!
He is my doctor :) I hate the fact that he's one of the lesser mentioned doctors. Its always arguments over David and Matt. And I'm always like, 'What about the doctor who helped bring the show back to life? Christopher Eccleston.' I wish he had stayed for another season. I would have loved to have watched more episodes of him. Though I'm not saying I don't love David and Matt, because I adore all 3 of them. All brilliant.
@HikaruCullen That is so true Christopher Eccleston's 9th doctor was my first doctor and i still love his episodes despite the fact he only did one series. I also like the 10's and 11's doctors respectively and its getting old the arguing about whether Matt Smith or David Tennant were better doctors. I like all 3 of the doctors i've seen equally since they each have such different personalities you can't compare one to the other.
the 9th doctor made me love him even though i started later with the 10th doctor. at first i was like "who is this guy, this isnt my doctor" and he grew on me. then he left and david tenant come on and i was back to my doctor but it didnt feel like my doctor anymore and i wanted 9 back, and then i remembered why i loved 10 and he grew on me and then he goes away and its so sad and then there is 11 and i didnt like him, now i love him. its part of the regeneration cycle.
@tuseroni My very first DW episode was the Series Finale "The Big Bang" and i loved the show since that episode made me cry.....and that was after not knowing anything about the show at all. i love the 9th doctor since i consider him my first proper doctor. The tenth doctor is my all time favorite though P:
it took me awhile to warm up the 11'th doctor but the scene of him talking to little Amy at the end of "The Big Bang" made me truly appreciate Matt Smith.
Technically, the first time I saw Doctor Who was when I caught the last half of The Lazarus Experiment, but it wasn't until years later that I saw my first, full episode of the show, Rose. Though I love David Tennant and all the other Doctors (and believe me I do) Eccleston will always be my first Doctor. He was the reason I fell in love with the show and I really do miss him.
@CapnMarcoPolo the first time i saw Doctor who was Series 5 the big bang which is a strange episode to start with lol! Over the past couple years i've watched Series 1-5 multiple times. I have a soft spot for the ninth doctor he was awesome P: and i wished he had done more than one Series.
@CPTTAYLOR592 one series was just not enough to enjoy him as The Doctor. That's what i love about Doctor Who the fact that you can watch episodes again and still get something out of them. A lot of shows after you've watched the episode its really not that enjoyable to watch it again since you know what happened. With Doctor Who you can catch little things you might have missed from the last time you watch a particular episode.
@CPTTAYLOR592 Yah i've read about why he left and it made sense but its great we got one Series out of him which was a great way to introduce the show to a new generation.
@rockohulkdoctorwho I read something awhile ago that it was issues with the producers and the atmosphere on set like bullying i think and that he didn't want to get typecast as an actor.
He may not be charming in the 'ladies man' sense of the term like David Tennant seems to be achieving. But I do think Chris provided a good "cool & bad ass with a twist of fun" kind of charm. I think he did really well as the doctor.
Anyone who hasn't quite got 9's characterisation should watch this interview. Watching this has reminded me how great a job he did of bringing back the best TV show ever.
gosh I miss this man as the doctor. The show could have died, like the way the movie failed to get a series going, but RTD and Chris Eccleston and Billie Piper made a magic first series of New Who - enough to catch those eight to twelve year olds but Christopher - I was a fan of Pertwee and Baker, they were MY doctors in my childhood, but you hooked me, line and sinker, to the new show. Bless you forever, mate.
He has a great sense of humor and is absolutely gorgeous. What I love the most about him is his love and respect of his Parents and brothers......and he loves Raggae music...what's not to love.
I don't know how people can look at him and not think he's charming. He's one of the most capable actors around, and seems like a very nice dude to boot.
and I also adore his accent. :)

Perhaps the most underestimated, but imho one of the best doctors ever!!

@buttersyrupnpancakes I like him too but i had to tell myself its been 2 years hes not coming back such is the way of life. @buttersyrupnpancakes Yeah, that makes total sense.
beautifulpassion 2 months ago
@buttersyrupnpancakes You have no idea what that word means, you're a little bit of a dolt, and your reasons aren't 'very personal'- they're shallow and meaningless. Yeah. I find the fact that you're so obsessive over Tennant because he's 'hot' that you can't watch Smith upsetting. -_-
beautifulpassion 2 months ago
Eccleston is a very subdued man and seems to be quiet, blunt, honest and very laid back. That does NOT mean 'not charming' or 'not funny'. He seems both, to me, and quite likeable and pleasant. (And hot.) And how quiet he is really emphasis what a skilled actor he is, to transform into someone like the Doctor. And he really, really seems to get the show and the character.
beautifulpassion 2 months ago
@beautifulpassion I agree it shows how he gets into a character...since hes so quiet compared to when he played the 9th doctor. He seems very likeable too and he has beautiful eyes that always seem to draw you in P: The way he talks about the show is fascinating and well thought out.
amirizar2012 2 months ago
@amirizar2012 Oh, yes, his gorgeous and intense eyes. His best feature besides his charming accent. It is indeed, and despite not having been a huge fan of the show as a kid he clearly really appreciates it now.
beautifulpassion 2 months ago
@beautifulpassion Yes i love how intense they are! and of course i love the accent too....it is interesting he wasn't a fan of the show but it takes a bit to watch the 1963 episodes. i'm watching them now and at first it was a bit weird since i've never seen a show in black and white but i like how short they are its nice. I just finished watching the story arch that introduces the Daleks and the Thails (i think that's how its spelled).
amirizar2012 2 months ago
@amirizar2012 I've never watched them- the oldest I've ever gone is fifth Doctor. I can't bring myself to really get into the OLDER older episodes.
But I love that he did it for the reasons he did; because he was so curious about the really intricate things, like regeneration. I can't remember what else he said caught his attention but I love that he went straight for the most complex bits to like. Says a lot about him. :P
beautifulpassion 2 months ago
@beautifulpassion lol i figured if i'm gonna start with classic Doctor Who might as well start with the early early episodes.when i find a show i start with the first season and work my way up.I too am glad he decided to do the show for the time he did it. I feel its a shame people forget about him since he was brilliant as the 9th doctor. the way he talks about the complicated bits is fascinating to hear!
amirizar2012 2 months ago
@amirizar2012 Haha, I typically do that, too, but honestly, I just couldn't get into any of the earlier episodes. The fifth Doctor had enough personality and charisma- and the plots were decent enough- that I managed to really like it, and people keep telling me to give Four and Six and chance, so I might.
I know, I always feel like he's so over-looked. Yes, he had a short run. His job was to bring Doctor Who back to life, and that is exactly what he did-and it was
beautifulpassion 2 months ago
@beautifulpassion That is so true he brought DW back for a new younger generation and Yes both Tennant and Smith are great but if it had'nt been for Christopher Eccleston the show would'nt be what it is today. comparing different actors and saying one is better than the other annoys me to no end lol!
amirizar2012 2 months ago
@amirizar2012 You and I both, and I really don't get people who diss Smith. Mostly because they always seem to do is strictly because he's not Tennant, and that is so fucking stupid. Tennant was an amazingly human, passionate, flawed, wonderful Doctor who you could fall in love with and at the end you heart broke for him. Smith is the PERFECT regeneration out of a situation like that; far more alien, strange, aloof, disconnected from humanity- or tries to be- because he doesn't
beautifulpassion 2 months ago 2
@beautifulpassion Ahh yes that is so true he DT's Doctor was very human and flawed and the way he went was heart-breakingly sad and depressing. Honestly before dissing Smith watch some episodes and you just might change your mind...i know i did and it took most of series 5 for me to truly love him as The Doctor. I love how the eleventh doctor keeps his emotions just beneth the surface and those rare moments when they come out are brilliant P; like in A Good Man Goes To War!
amirizar2012 2 months ago
@amirizar2012 Oh, no, I'm not dissing smith- you misunderstood me. I love Smith and his Doctor. He was actually my first Doctor, the one that really sucked me into the show. I saw all of seasons five and six before I watched the rest of the show. I'd seen bits and peices, but Smith was the first one I watched in full.
And he does, you're so so right. The Beast Below and A Good Man Goes To War are two of my favorite Eleven episodes, because he seems SO childish and so aloof
beautifulpassion 2 months ago
@beautifulpassion Oh i didn't assume you were dissing Smith....i think that reply was meant for the person you replied to a couple of minutes ago. Smith was the very first full episode i'd seen too. it was the episode "The Big Bang" that i saw and fell in love with the show despite not knowing anything about it...The Doctor talking to little Amy and sounding so sad broke my heart and made me cry which is a rare thing a show making me cry.
amirizar2012 2 months ago
@amirizar2012 @amirizar2012 Ahhh, my bad. I don't easily cry, either, yet DW often makes me do so...more then any other show I've ever seen.
beautifulpassion 2 months ago
@beautifulpassion Smith's acting in the little Amy scene was spot on amazing no question about it that at all. I think someone whose on the fence about him should watch that scene and try and say hes a crap doctor P: Its amazing how he plays the old man in a young mans body perfectly! On another note the scene with Rose begging to be taken back and her and the doctor touching the wall at the same time is so sad! If a show makes me cry i consider it an amazing show!
amirizar2012 2 months ago
@beautifulpassion My list of shows and movies that make me cry is a very short one lol! i'm very cynical and very Sarcastic so i'm more apt to laugh at a sad moment if its a badly acted sad one. I annoyed my cousin years ago when we were watching Titanic and at the end i just yelled at the TV "just die already Jack....i'm bored". she called me heartless but i just said IRL he would have been dead hours ago lol! To this day i can't stand Titanic its to cheesy and sappy romantic.
amirizar2012 2 months ago
@beautifulpassion I find the last half hour of the big bang so emotionally sad and i love it! i also loved The Wedding Of River Song since i can rewatch it a lot and find new thing to enjoy about it.
amirizar2012 2 months ago
@amirizar2012 and oddly cold, and then BAM, there's all this passion and emotion and devotion hidden beneath. His love for Amy and Rory is heartwarming, and he has such a sense of wonder about everything. And I LOVE how he is with the TARDIS. (The Doctor's Wife was ah-ma-zing.)
And yeah, DT's ending broke my heart. I can deal with Ten dying. Ten dying alone, frightened, in pain, and unstable? That's what made me cry.
beautifulpassion 2 months ago
@beautifulpassion I love his relationship with Amy and Rory and The Doctors Wife was on of my fav episodes too P: Him breaking Amy's faith in him was very sad too. The tenth doctors last line "I don't want to go" combined with that music made me cry like a baby. The last half-hour of The end of time always does that...esp with him saying goodbye to Wilf after that moment i was sobbing. If a show does that i consider that amazing since few things entertainment wise do that.
amirizar2012 2 months ago
@amirizar2012 want to have the.../problems/...Ten had. (Granted, poor Eleven goes through Break The Cutie anyway.) But he's a wonderful Doctor in his own way, just like Eccleston was wonderful in a way that Tennant and Smith aren't. He was a darker, more violent, more intense Doctor, fresh from a war. And you're right; without him, the others would never have had such a marvelous chance.
beautifulpassion 2 months ago
@beautifulpassion Very true Ten at times had the worst depressing existence in a lot of the story lines. although you are very right Eleven had the worse of all in Break the cutie ( reading TV Tropes about Doctor Who is so addicting...i can literally spend hours without even realizing it on that website)
Eccleston's doctor was very dark and intense like the moment where he meets the last surviving Dalek and almost kills it.
amirizar2012 2 months ago
@amirizar2012 Ten's story was gut-wrenching because no matter how much good he tried to do it seemed like it kept going wrong...and he was /so/ human that he made very human mistakes and let himself get really emotionally involved with everything that happened. It was so hard watching him go from the bouncey, sugar-high happy go lucky man-child we saw at first to this broken shell of a man, borderline mad, punishing himself, and pushing everyone who could help away.
beautifulpassion 2 months ago
@beautifulpassion That is so true no matter how he tried somethings just went from bad to worse. I found it hard to see him like you said happy go-lucky to the person we saw in The Waters Of Mars....broken up about the hand life had dealt him. Then the moment he realized what he had done and actions he had causes it so heart-breaking...he learned the hard way time always wins. Losing Rose was just the start of him very human downfall.
amirizar2012 2 months ago
@amirizar2012 It was...I'm of the opinion that losing Rose seriously just /broke/ him in a way that couldn't be fixed, because she was the one that /saved/ him when he was Nine. Romantic love or not, she was his life-line, and when he lost her, well. That's why he didn't think about love in The Family of Blood/ Human Nature, I think; he didn't imagine he'd want to be with anyone else, even as a human, which is so sad and so lovely all at once. He ALMOST bounced back with Martha-
beautifulpassion 2 months ago
@beautifulpassion That is very true him meeting Rose as the Ninth Doctor made him a better person and i loved their relationship and how it evolved. I will be honest Martha annoyed the heck out of me and i was sorta glad to see her leave after one series.
amirizar2012 2 months ago
@amirizar2012 Martha had her good moments, but for the most part I REALLY disliked her, yeah.
beautifulpassion 2 months ago
@beautifulpassion For the most part i disliked her tbh and i wished Donna got another Series....since just one was not enough.
amirizar2012 2 months ago
@amirizar2012 I would have /loved/ to see Donna get a longer run! I am made sad when I remember how short an apperance she actually got, and I kind of can't help but hope we see her again.
Sheesh, can you imagine Donna and Amy? In the same room? For more then five minutes?
Yikes.
beautifulpassion 2 months ago
@beautifulpassion Donna and Amy in the same room haha that would be umm interesting although can you imagine The eleventh doctor with Donna now that would be interesting to see!
amirizar2012 2 months ago 2
@amirizar2012 but she was too needy and too obsessed with making him LURV her, and I will never, EVER forgive her for leaving him at the end of Last of the Time Lords. Ever. And Donna nearly put him back to rights completely, which made it all the more hard to see her go.
TWoM was a hard to watch episode, for me. I didn't want to see this character I had so come to love that low, that broken. When I finally did watch it, it was amazing how much David Tennant seemed to be
beautifulpassion 2 months ago
@beautifulpassion Yes Martha was annoyingly needy but I think her leaving at the end of Series 3 was something they both needed. I loved his relationship with Donna it was refreshing to see a companion not fall in love with him and have a proper friendship instead. The way her time ended with him was heart-breaking he brought out the best in her and made her see her true potential. Also she saved his life since look what happened to the world in "Turn Left" when he "died" !
amirizar2012 2 months ago
@amirizar2012 If it had been at any other part in the series, I wouldn't have minded as much. But right after seeing him have a wailing breakdown over the body of his one-time-friend turned enemy? After everything that had happened to them both? Just leaving him to be on his own seemed incredibly selfish, and the fact that she pretty much shoved the fact that she was leaving because he didn't love her in his face felt so inappropriate.
Donna was my favorite companion, and even
beautifulpassion 2 months ago
@amirizar2012 now, as much as I adore Amy and Rory, she still is. She really was his best friend, and she was so unique and an incredible character and companion. He did indeed just let Donna see how much she could really shine, and it's gut-wrenching that he had to take that from her just when she realized how amazing she could be. They were so good for each other. And yes, she did, without doubt; she brought him back to life, didn't take his bullshit, was a shoulder when he
beautifulpassion 2 months ago
@amirizar2012 needed it and never treated him like anything other then a best friend. And I think he was the first person in Donna's life to ever look at her and say 'wow, look at you, you're amazing!" and she really, really needed that. I like to think a part of her never forgot it.
beautifulpassion 2 months ago
@beautifulpassion I know him losing his one connection to his past and then losing a companion at the same time...its like what Donna said he needs companions to stop him before he gets too far. They both helped each other in key and important ways esp with him helping Donna to see she wasn't just a useless temp with a nagging mother. Even with her memory wiped of the doctor she still helped him through Wilf in a way with the book that lead to the location of the master.
amirizar2012 2 months ago
@amirizar2012 channeling Simm- amazing and frightening. It wasn't the same man in that episode, and it really showed how much alike the Master and the Doctor really are. (Don't even get me started on the Master. Favorite "villain" ever.)
beautifulpassion 2 months ago
@beautifulpassion ohhh yes it did show how easily The Doctor could get worse than The Master. It would have been terrible but fascinating if he went to the dark side 0-O
I do believe you like comment conversations like i do...it's not often someone out comments my comments. I rather like this since so many vids no one reply's to comments enough for my tastes.
amirizar2012 2 months ago
@amirizar2012 LOL, I'm sorry, I'm really, really wordy. (Bit like Ten myself that way- I've got a gob. :p) I love comment conversations, haha, and I'm delighted to find someone else who has such fun discussing DW characters in depth and such.
And it would be truly scary. It's funny; the Master is a character that could so easily be redeemed and the Doctor is a character that could so easily be corrupted. They're two sides of the same coin that could be flipped. Gotta wonder, too
beautifulpassion 2 months ago
@beautifulpassion Haha no need to apolizize i'm like that too only just online. In real life i am very quiet even with people who i know...at family gatherings i just sit and observe things. its amazing the things you spot and hear when you're quiet.
Yes both the Master and the Doctor are very much two sides of a coin that could have had two very different outcomes kinda like Harvey Dent's coin in The Dark Knight..they made their own luck and fates.
amirizar2012 2 months ago
@amirizar2012 You're like Sherlock Holmes, lol. The watcher in the shadows. I'm as loud in real life as I am online, if only because being bouncy-hyper really makes people underestimate you. It's fun shocking people when I'm more then I seem to be.
I'm not much a Batman girl, but I do get /that/ reference because that movie was so very wonderfully yummy. And you're right; they pave their own ways, even when it's the wrong thing to do, and won't be told how to live or what
beautifulpassion 2 months ago
@beautifulpassion lol! i am kinda like that yes...although i tend to talk too loud my mom always has to remind me of that. I blame my dad's side of the family for that they are a loud family conversation wise and half the time i have no idea what they're saying since i don't speak spanish lol! although i have learned that if its a spanish conversation with bits of english words its a serious issues (also if i hear my name in that conversation haha)
Ahh yes i love that movie!
amirizar2012 2 months ago
@beautifulpassion I also am not much into Batman ,beyond seeing the movies and occasional cartoon's as a kid. i loved how dark the 2 movies were esp the dark knight! Heath Ledger as the Joker was brilliantly complicated and dark..i loved it and it was so sad he died so young. I had to laugh at how ridicules Batman's voice sounded though esp during the interrogation with the Joker.

@amirizar2012 , what would have happened if the pair of them never became enemies.
beautifulpassion 2 months ago
@beautifulpassion Hummm they would have made a great time thats for sure...of course them being enemies was what made the relationship so interesting.
amirizar2012 2 months ago
@amirizar2012 Best enemies. :P But you're right, it was- the dynamic they have is complex and difficult and really, very sad, because once upon a time they were friends. :/ and in a way, they still are.
beautifulpassion 2 months ago
@beautifulpassion And really it was'nt the masters fault her was crazy like that ...making a child looking into the heart of the universe would probably make anyone go crazy.
amirizar2012 2 months ago
@beautifulpassion Plus i just love that moment when hes told her would make a good Dalek....the look on his face is one of shock and horror.
amirizar2012 2 months ago
@amirizar2012 OMG, that ENTIRE EPISODE was just mind blowing to me...imo, Eccleston's best. That moment is amazing, he looks just- like something inside him totally broke. But my favorite moment in that show is when he first meets the Dalek and goes a little bit insane. His body language in that episode and his /face/ and the way he just turns into this vicious, cruel thing but there's so obviously fear and pain and he just shows it ALL, effortlessly.
beautifulpassion 2 months ago
@beautifulpassion Ohhh yes that terrifying moment when hes stuck in a room with one of his most feared enemies and then goes crazy. That was the one episode where he lost total and utter control was interesting. I recently watched the very first episode featuring the Daleks and found it very intersting. Its almost scary how he goes from in control to out of control at the sight of the lone dalek.
amirizar2012 2 months ago
@amirizar2012 Only time we ever see Eccleston's Doctor that way. Tennant's calm fury and Smith's vicious mood swings are scary, but to me, that moment was the perfect example of The Oncoming Storm, moreso then almost any other I've seen so far.
beautifulpassion 2 months ago
@beautifulpassion Very true the one moment hes caught unaware and loses control and very much The Oncoming Story in a early stage of the show.
amirizar2012 2 months ago
@amirizar2012 /fantastic/. ~_^ People don't seem to realize what a big job that was. Yes, Tennant was stunning. Yes, Smith is wonderful. But they're grabbing the reins, both of them, from what Eccleston re-created for us.
beautifulpassion 2 months ago
@beautifulpassion at least the great thing is David Tennant and Matt Smith will always be know as the Tenth and Eleventh doctor whether they like it or not. That's what DT will always be remembered for i think.
amirizar2012 2 months ago
@amirizar2012 Ohhh yes. No matter what he does, DT is The Tenth Doctor. and Smith will always be the Eleventh Doctor. They just WILL be. And I think they'll both love it. Eccleston will always be Nine, too.
beautifulpassion 2 months ago
@beautifulpassion I think to play that Iconic role, you probably know going into it that people will know who you are from that moment on because you played The Doctor. All of DT's interviews are awesome he seems like a cool person and so does Matt Smith. They each bring their own unique personalities into the role and i love that P:
amirizar2012 2 months ago
@amirizar2012 They do indeed, to both statements. They were both so excited to get to play the role, and I love that, too- like little boys, just thrilled that they got to be this amazing, brilliant character unlike any other, and, in DT's case, a character he specifically set out to get to be. Now that's heartwarming.
oh, also, about the TV Tropes? I get lost on that site for hours, too. :P
beautifulpassion 2 months ago
@beautifulpassion It's definitely a role you take because you always wanted to play it. I just spent an hour on TV Tropes when i intended to just look up one thing lol! as if looking up on phrase is enough

HikaruCullen 3 months ago 3
@HikaruCullen That is so true Christopher Eccleston's 9th doctor was my first doctor and i still love his episodes despite the fact he only did one series. I also like the 10's and 11's doctors respectively and its getting old the arguing about whether Matt Smith or David Tennant were better doctors. I like all 3 of the doctors i've seen equally since they each have such different personalities you can't compare one to the other.
amirizar2012 2 months ago
the 9th doctor made me love him even though i started later with the 10th doctor. at first i was like "who is this guy, this isnt my doctor" and he grew on me. then he left and david tenant come on and i was back to my doctor but it didnt feel like my doctor anymore and i wanted 9 back, and then i remembered why i loved 10 and he grew on me and then he goes away and its so sad and then there is 11 and i didnt like him, now i love him. its part of the regeneration cycle.

@tuseroni My very first DW episode was the Series Finale "The Big Bang" and i loved the show since that episode made me cry.....and that was after not knowing anything about the show at all. i love the 9th doctor since i consider him my first proper doctor. it took me awhile to warm up the 11'th doctor but the scene of him talking to little Amy at the end of "The Big Bang" made me truly appreciate Matt Smith.

He may not be charming in the 'ladies man' sense of the term like David Tennant seems to be achieving. But I do think Chris provided a good "cool & bad ass with a twist of fun" kind of charm. I think he did really well as the doctor.

gosh I miss this man as the doctor.

Not funny? Not charming? This is the man that made me initially fall in love with the Doctor! He swept me off my feet and I haven't landed since.

I don't know how people can look at him and not think he's charming. He's one of the most capable actors around, and seems like a very nice dude to boot.
