I always reckon you can tell the popularity and success of a series by the grid size - whilst F1 still struggles to get 20 competitive cars on the grid every race, current V8 Supercars, WTCC and Superstars Series (V8 touring car series originiating in Italy) pack out their grids with 30+ cars. Look at how great the BTCC was in these days - a huge grid.
wow look at that crowd, i know it was the same weekend as the British GP but this race seems to have the same amount of people that was watching the British GP.
@Ceedrun I'd say the current WTCC is the best super touring series right now, the BTCC has really gone down the drain in the last few years, its just become a glorified hot hatch destruction derby, with not much skill involved, and the best drivers all win a few races there then launch into the WTCC - notice how Priaulx didnt make much of an impact in the BTCC, but has become multiple world champion. In the 90s the BTCC was the greatest. Andy Rouse is a legend behind the wheel of a saloon car :)
At the start he says "it was an all Nissan front row" and yet you can see he lines up next to a Toyota, then Murray reviews the grid and it's a Toyota number 2.
Ódor, outperforming the car as always. Brilliant driver, was taken from us. Stupid god, we wanted him a bit longer.

Damn that sucks for the blue Toyota team. Shouldn't you give your teammate, who's in front of you, some room?

@aylesburyapeboy who are they? did they die from racing?
anttrap321 9 months ago
@anttrap321
Keith O'dor - 1995, racing accident in Germany
Will Hoy - 2002, brain tumour
David Leslie - 2008, plane crash
All were great drivers and genuinely some of the nicest guys in motorsport.

I love the "old" BTCC.
I used to have a Nissan Primera P10 eGT SR20DE in the early 90s. Then a Nissan Sunny RNN14 SR20DET. Great cars!
Now I've got a BMW E90 330i - it's nice, it's perfect, of course.
But with those Nissans I had much more fun. Love the old Nissans :-)
Greetings from Germany
